Ray Williams ponders GA's future after being brought to the park midway through the 1987 season. Six Flags executives at corporate tapped Williams as the man most capable of turning the park around following a series of mishaps during the first half of the 1987 season. Williams had most recently been President of SF Great America, in Gurnee, iL. He first served as VP/General Manager of Six Flags over Georgia, then Six Flags over Texas before being installed as the first Six Flags VP/General Manager at the Gurnee Great America park following Six Flags' purchase of the park from Marriott Corporation in 1984.
