Premier Parks acquired the Six Flags parks in April of 1998.  In early January, 1999 they announced major changes planned for Great Adventure's 1999 season, including the introduction of the world's first floorless coaster (Medusa) and 25 rides, which they intended to increase Great Adventure's ride capacity significantly.
