  1. It feels like only yesterday that Great Adventure History was just a small page within AmusementPics. Then the original Evolution spotlight was posted and the seeds were sown for something that would very quickly outgrow even AmusementPics. And when it was announced that a dedicated forums would be added, you can be damn sure that I was gonna be there on day one! Those first five years was easily my golden age over here, especially since the forums coincided with my gradually becoming the roller coaster/theme park enthusiast I am today. While I may not post here as often as I did in the beginning, I still always made an effort to stop by and read whatever updates and news gets posted here! And with the double blow of both Harry's passing and the impending shut down of the forums, I feel like a part of my childhood is disappearing into the abyss. The GAH Forums may fade away, but the memories I've had on this site over the years never will. Goodbye everyone. And may the greatest of all adventures never end!
  2. Well, it's been an amazing run for almost two decades. Whether it's Facebook, Discord, or Reddit, I'll always be there to follow GAH in this new era.
  3. RIP Harry. This website was a major part of me becoming the coaster/theme park lover I am today. Much condolences to his family.
  4. They rectified a problem that never should've been made in the first place.
  5. I'm guessing the licensing fees from those IPs are dirt cheap, since their respective owners barely seem to do anything super big with those characters.
  6. Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like this godforsaken building is finally being taken down and the path reconnected to install those custom 50th anniversary bricks?
  7. The pathway with those custom bricks… I’m guessing the Paintball building is coming down and the path between the tents and Carousel is finally being reconnected?
  8. Sooo… Great Adventure’s announcement is gonna have to be something spectacular if they don’t want to have their lunch eaten by Dorney next year.
  9. In a perfect world, I would absolutely LOVE a giga coaster. But I also want the Mets to win the World Series this year, so that's never gonna happen. Realistically, I'm on the fence as to whether I want a family launching coaster or a new family woodie.
  10. I'm just patiently waiting for either the park/the potential ride manufacturer to accidentally leak the whole ride like Zamperla did with the new Top Thrill Dragster yesterday.
  11. I went on a similar ride in Coney Island. Hopefully the ride is scrapped and melted down. Possibly the worst coaster I've ever been on.
  12. 30 years ago, GADV's first B&M coaster opened to the public. To say that it wouldn't be their last is quite the understatement...
  13. Since SORA is never coming back, the old station & queue line should be torn down and replaced with a couple flats. Nothing too flashy, just to increase foot traffic in that area. Personally, I'd love to see a Zamperla Endeavour (that modern Enterprise that's been popping up at various Six Flags parks) and the return of a western themed HUSS Breakdance.
  14. ^^Funny enough, I recently rewatched The Country Bears. It's not a great movie by any means, but it has a sort of "so bad it's good" kind of charm to it. Not sure if Disney's clamoring to put the Tower of Terror movie on Disney+ though.
  15. Really miss the movie scores that were played in Movietown. Gave the area a real sense of adventure and grandiose.
