It seems the changeover back to Medusa is fairly half assed. The old Bizarro sign out front looks awful just repainted brown with a little bit of mine trim around the opening. At least paint the old sign to look like a rock formation. The old Bizarro wagon with square wheels is still in place. The Bizarro hoops and drill now really don't make sense. The change back clearly needed more planning.

Im pretty sure they're not done yet

  2. From what I was told by people who work there, even with higher lifeguard wages no one wants to work, leading to the capacity problems they have. Not to mention with a lot of underage lifeguards working, they can't work 40 hour weeks due to child labor laws, so even when they hire lifeguards, they may not be able to work as much as they need to. As of right now, the current workforce situation is just really tough and I honestly don't know how they could improve it in the moment, but in the future yes, hurricane harbor is very popular, too popular, and it seriously needs to expand more (somehow).

  3. I managed to ride it once yesterday, in the front-middle (row 5).

So I can safely say that the middle is good, not great. I would've rode more, considering the line for the seasonpassholder/members was VERY short... the ride brokedown for over an hour while we were waiting in line, and the 10 minute wait turned into over an hour wait, and considering we had somewhere to be we unfortunately only rode once.

I've heard the backrow is fantastic so I cannot wait to give it another go, but of course you can't choose your seats so it is unfortunate.

So as a one-time middle rider; my review is the ride is good in the middle, not great, not mind-blowing, definitely slow in the middle, and the air-time is meh at best. The stall and turnaround are still very good in the middle though!

I'm sure the GP would be perfectly satisficed with the middle, but for me; a coaster nerd who's been on many many roller coasters, I think that this ride is simply good in the middle. But definitely cannot wait to ride in the back because I've heard the airtime is incredible!

They didn’t hang the sign last year either.

Hmm I must've not noticed. That's kinda dumb though.

I believe they are decorating a lot less for FF to allow a quicker changeover to HITP. Last year, they even began to take FF decorations down a week before Halloween.

That makes a lot of sense, although I don't agree with that either. Fright Fest used to be much better. I will say though last year I got lucky and managed to get free maze passes from someone I know and the mazes have gotten better over the years for sure. But this year I didn't get that luxury, nor did I feel like paying for it, but at least that's something that's getting better.

  5. I went last night as well^ Lines were insane for a friday, and decorations of the park definitely seem lacking especially the fountain and main entrance area which usually has way more props. I did notice many more scare actors for the themed areas, I did not go on the trails though. And what's with Bone Butcher ? Why is there no sign for it like every year?

Hopefully JD will win the GTA for best new ride of 2020!

Unfortunately the SeaWorld Entertainment parks really killed it this year, it may be tough to beat them. Kings Island's Giga doesn't actually look that impressive, so I'm gonna say if anything it's between SeaWorld's additions between all their affiliated parks, most likely the RMC Gwazi at BG Tampa..... however if the airtime on Jersey Devil is as crazy as we all assume, I think it may have a shot! We just gotta wait and see.....

    No more “private” bathrooms either.

I almost always forgot those existed, the only times I'd even remember is during Fright Fest when I would do the apocalypse trail or whatever it was and walk past them and I'd be like "oh yeah these bathrooms" lmao. I'm sure they'll be kept for JD and if not then whatever.
