Does anyone know the cost of the Super Boomerang? Lech Coaster costed €12M (roughly $13M) in 2017, but also features twice the track length of this. My ballpark guess would be $15M, so I'm not understanding how this was addressed as a huge increase in Capex.

 

Perhaps the entire GADV allocated budget was supposed to be for renovations/TLC and then this was thrown in there as an added "gift"? Ironically it'll be the best part of the new season.

Well you also have to consider that it is all but confirmed that the ferris wheel and the log flume will be getting some pretty big TLC. We also don't know if they are getting a modified version of the super boomerang, maybe they bought a model with a turntable which would make it a bit more expensive I would assume. Also, Nitro repaint seems inevitable for the upcoming year considering the trains and exit rails are blue and grey now.

i agree. wouldn't be surprised if it's an exact clone of dr diabolical with justice league theming. "sometimes you have to look down for the best views..." super confident in a drop coaster. Would like if it was a bit taller than diabolical but we'll see.

In all honesty, how are we feeling about six flags in general right now? I can't lie, I have barely gone this year because of all the changes. I loved my DE VIP membership, but now it feels like I'm being stripped of all my benefits. Dining plan doesn't work at the places I used to eat, I don't get fright fest maze access anymore... Selim seems really focused on in park sales, so in all honesty I'm shocked that DE VIP still has the 50% off discount on most food and items (granted, the 50% off is one the main benefits of the membership). But man, I just have no motivation going to the park anymore, especially since Selim stated that he thinks the chain has enough rides and we won't see any major additions till at least 2024. 

Truthfully, if they cancel my DE VIP pass, I may end up just giving up on six flags. I really hate the direction they are taking, really does just feel like a price increase with less things to do.

So this is personally a fever dream of mine that I would absolutely love to be true, but realistically this would probably never happen. Covid also killed any chance of this happening.

20xx Six Flags is doing their announcements for the next season, but this year instead of super fast back to back announcements, Great Adventures announcement has a teaser trailer instead of a direct announcement. It fades to black, and it cuts to a NoLimits2 recreation of the el toro area at night (imagine the POV of the camera being at macho nacho, where you can see The drop of toro and the station, and you can see where rolling thunder used to be). It's silent, with crickets chirping. Suddenly, a flash of lightning strikes down and a very quick silhouette of a dueling rollercoaster where rolling thunder used to be is flashed before going back to just el toro again. It fades to black and the words "Wrath of Rolling Thunder" or "Rolling Thunder's Revenge" or "Revenge of Rolling Thunder" are displayed.

The ride would be made by RMC and would be a dueling IBOX coaster. I think this would hands down be the best addition to the park in YEARS (not saying they haven't added great additions recently bc they have, but this one takes the cake). 

Like I said, complete fever dream, but what are your thoughts on this?

Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth has been experiencing a ton of technical difficulties, to the point where the ride breaks down at least once a day. Before opening they had to replace the motor because it broke, and now Thursday, June 27th, Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth almost collapsed. The motor failed mid course and it caused every support to start violently shaking. They immediately stopped the ride, and put the blue fence for construction back up as soon as they could. They are now replacing the motor once again, making this the 2nd time the motor failed. If this continues, what do you think the future of Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth is? And what will they do to fix it?
