  1. Is there ever a chance that a new updated version of this ride will grace the park anytime in the future? I love these kind of rides. I mean coasters are great and all but variety is the spice of life.
  2. It would be nice to see a Turn Of The Century theme. Celebrate the golden age of amusement parks from the 1900's through the 1930's. They could have all the old style rides like Bumper cars, Tilt-A-Whirl, scrambler and flying swings in this area as well as other rides from that era that are updated to todays safety regulations. And have the workers in that area dress in black slacks, white shirts, red vests, bow ties and those old style straw hats. Kinda like a barbershop quartet outfit. I think that would be a cool throwback idea that would get people remembering where the amusement industry started.
  3. I have been lucky to have had the opportunity to have ridden almost every coaster ever to grace Great Adventure. Out of all of them it difficult to choose just one favorite. I will have to say for wooden coasters it is definitely El Toro. Rolling Thunder is a classic but El Toro is so smooth. For the steel coasters I will pick Nitro. It is fast, smooth and such a great ride. Every seat, every row, day or night it is a great ride.
  4. "Wonderful. I got Dad's looks and Mom's height."
  5. Does anyone know if this ride will be comfortable for a person, such as myself, who stands 6 feet 7 inches tall? It sure looks like an awesome ride, I just hope I can actually ride it.
  6. I am one of those people who would like to say I wish NONE of the rides were removed. But some of my favorites that I truly miss are: The Great American Scream Machine. Freefall. Condor. Spinmeister. The Pretty Monster aka Dream Street Dazzler. Super Sidewinder. Joust About. and hate me all you want for this one...... Viper. I know Viper was rough after a while but I thought that drop and the first inversion were incredible. The last turn after the second inversion was the painful one for me. But I still think with a little work that design could have been a keeper.
  7. Two thumbs up for this spotlight. It was a long wait but a worthwhile one. Great pictures, great reading about the history of a legendary roller coaster. If I could, I'd buy you guys a drink so we could sit and chat more about this and the other rides that made the park great.
  8. Sadly I never rode Condor when it was at GAdv. However, I just returned from a week vacation in Wildwood and got to ride the one at Morey's Piers. It truly is an awesome ride. I can only imagine the view when it was at Gadv looking out over the woods and the park. It would be cool if they were able to get a new one here. It's a great ride.
  9. They left people in the cars on the Sky Ride? Just kidding. I think they closed the ride at both stations but ran the cars so they all came into the Dream St. side where they were taken off and put in the holding areas.
  10. That was a guess but a good guess..... I guess. It was a toss up between the stockade and the Best Of The West. I am glad I went with the stockade.
  11. Where they used for the construction of the stockade for the sky ride and Runaway Train?
  12. Rolling Thunder. The only dual/racing coaster with side by side trackage of different configurations.
  13. I personally think that GAdv should concentrate on upkeep of the current rides and start adding a few new flat rides every season. If they added two or three flats around the park in areas that once had rides there would be more for guests to do. Bring back a Monster Spin/Octopus, Scrambler, Tilt-A-Whirl, Flying Wave, Enterprise and other standard rides we all know and love. Reopen the Old Country section, get the Autobahn and Muzik Express up and running again. Rides like Scrambler and Tilt-A-Whirl would be great in the Old Country. The big thing I would do is move Bugs Bunny National Park into the Looney Tunes Seaport area and combine them into Bugs Bunny National Forest. Remove the Wiggles World area and add the Condor and Monster Spin and theme them for Movie Town. From the area that is now Bugs Bunny National Park through Skull Mountain I would re-theme as Pirate's Cove. Rides could be added to the BBNP area and can be themed in a pirate or some sort of nautical theme. I.E. Enterprise could be called Whirlpool. Also Spinaker could make a comeback in that area. But they shouldn't do it all at once. They should slowly add some rides to the Old Country first, re-establish that area and then make the big change of LTSP into Bugs Bunny National Forest. They could even put in a train ride back through the woods there like the old days. Just a thought.
  14. I really think that the park should get a new version of this ride back. I love coasters but we need something else to pass the time when you get a little tired of coasters. Bring this back, open the Autobahn and Muzik Express, get a new Flying Wave, Enterprise, Scrambler and Tilt-A-Whirl. That would be a good start to regaining the reputation of a "Family" park.
