  1. While i have not been to park since 2010, and have no plan to go back at all, I still have friends who work their and or go to the park and Before Railer (Rich Petrillo)says something about me criticizing the park and not having visited i would rather spend my money on trips to Dorney, Hershey, Disney and or Cedar Fair Parks. Its seems to me all the park/company care about is nickel and dimming the crap out of their customer while cutting cost and adding crap rides (aka Carnival). Also dont give the BS story that they have focused on infrustrature work or that their fucus this year is on that god awful idea of holiday in the park. the true reason is that Jame Reid Anderson and John Fitzgerald are just money hungry businessmen. Also look at John Fitzgerald past history with running (destroying) parks, 2 out the 3 most recent parks he ran have gone out of business under his watchful eye and that just proves that he is the wrong man for job. We are watching him destroy another park with dumb ideas and increasing prices. As has been stated he is nothing more then a yes man for the CEO.

  2. Well, i tried one of those G Adventure Facebook group's, and most of my "Veteran" friend's (and webmasters from the GA sites) from the Park were right. They are all are mostly idiot's that just take the Park WAY too serious. I'm going to make a "group" where there is a test to get in lol.

HA HA Must suck when you get people who actually know park rules and understand them, and then call you out for entering an area of the park that not opened to the public but yet the people on said page are idiots because we beleive in following the rules. While some member of that page post stupid thing, most obey the rules of the park. You just got upset when somebody called you out. Then again on here you post the same crazy crap that those "Idiots" post on that page haha.

  3. This park has turned into such a dump, and the more i see i get that this management team is clueless as heck. Mark Kane was such a better park president then this clueless fool Fitzgerald. I have seen constant horrible decisions by Fitzgerald since he took over, between removing Rolling Thunder, Adding a carnival ride (marketing it as a coaster), Closing the golden kingdom, and now removing two show venues. I get that alot of these attractions were older and suffered from years of not being mentained but at the same time the park always choose the cheap way out. An amusement park need to have a good mix of coaster, thrill rides, kiddie rides and shows, but they have removed almost all of their shows and attractions. This why Six Flags inc and SF GADV are quickly falling behind the major player in the industry, i really think the best would be for the park to be sold to another company. I am truly glad that i no longer work at this place.

  4. The sad part is they starting charging while i was still an employee, and the reason they told us they charged was to help increase budget and improve Fright Fest quality. Now they have been charging and they have not improved anything, ya they have added more haunts but not enough to compete in a very crowded industry. While i know they will never be on the same as universal but they are not even close to Cedar Fair parks anymore. Its sad when you are not even the top amusement park haunt in the tri state area. I would rather drive to dorney and enjoy their haunts cause their quality is so much better.

  5. I will tell you this was a really said event, i went to both the veiwing and funeral Mass for paul. Their was a lot of park employees at both of these things, i was very shocked when i first found out about this tragic death on friday night. To make this even more tragic the guy behind the wheel of the was on the suspended list and should not have been driving. Paul was an all around nice guy that touched many people. The park lost an all around great guy and very creative person

  6. IF you go to the park before aug. 22, stop in and see The Return of the Wippershnappers. it is the best street entertainment show the park has going. Unfoutanly due to cast member leaving for school the show was pulled prior to labor day.

  7. Casting call information is up on the Six Flags site. Fright Fest actors are needed for the following shows in 2009:

Terror Trails: Escape from the Asylum and Demented Forest

Haunted Midways: Lakefront Graveyard, Circus Psycho, Freaky Forest

    Stage Shows:

Thrills by Day- - Mr. Six Masquerade Party, Monster Mash Bash 2009, Kidz Scary-oke, Get Ready to Wiggle Halloween Show, Magic Show, Professor Slither's Creepy Critters.

Chills by Night- The Awakening, Zambora of the Amazon, Hypnosteria, Dead Man's Party, Voyage to Voodoo Island dolphin show, Resurrection of the Marshmallow Man tiger show, Wheel of Fright and more!

I could be wrong but i think freaky forest might a new haunted midway. I know demented forest was a terror trail but i do not remember an area called freaky forest on the list last year.

What about Butcher's Territory? Is it coming back?

Plaza Del Carnaval should be turned into Mexican Massacare!

Butchers territory is probably come back

  8. I am happy to see more lockers being put in place, i wish they put them at all the coaster (Rolling Thunder and Mine train). These new lockers will prevent the employees from having to deal with guest stealing stuff from the ride platform, which happened multple times this past season at the rides without lockers. Also they are making Park Services jobs a little eisier with some of the new policies that food has put into effect this comming season

  9. I guess that was too easy!

Yes, those restrooms used to have additional facilities (through doors in the back of the building) which would be opened on the park's busiest days. They were also used as hideouts for the Grounds employees. :D

The Sad part is the back area of this restroom is still used by Grounds employees to hide out in, i have caught many employees in their

  10. Since i have the day off from work, and i have not been to the park since Aug. I will be dusting off my camera and camcorda and heading out to the park for Fright Fest. If anybody would like to meet me just post in this topic, i will be their from opening to closing.

  11. Thanks for the info, it really didn't seem like it was that many. I guess the park is so big even that many people still made it feel empty.

I just read on another site the park closed at 4:00 today and he said it was so empty he rode ET 3 times in a row in the front seat. I just checked the website and it still says they are open until 10:00 tonight! I know hours are subject to change without notice but you would expect them to change the website like they usually do like 3 weeks ago when they closed at 2:00 due to the horrible storm. What if someone checked the site at 5:00 and saw 10:00 and figured they had a few hours to go to the park only to find out it closed.

The park closed at 4:00 because of the weather. Now yes they should note on the website when they are closing early but they dont because the control for the website is located at corparate HQ.

I think the biggest problem was the lack of communication between the park and pass holders, they could have warned us about it closing early but they did not. They kept saying it would be open 5 to 10 which it was not.

The original plan up till about 6:50 was to remain open till ten, so the people on the phone did not know that the park would be closing until a little over a half an hour before. Also you guy should be very luky they do SP holders events, the park makes bearly any money off of these events. Also for anyone who is complaining you guy knew when you decided to come to the park, that the weather had been really bad, and that when the weather is nasty the park may close down. Just my two cent on the subject

  12. They said the park closed because it was unsafe to operate the rides? It only misted/drizzled the entire night and at 7:30 it wasn't even raining. Plus there was always Skull Mountain and the Dark Knight.

I was there from around 5:15 to the 7:30 closing no lines for anything, Nitro was closed the entire time, I didn't see KK run once but others said it ran a few cycles. Batman was closed most of the time as well. I would guess around 200 people at most were in the park tonight.

The park closed because of INCLEMENT weather, it was not because it was unsafe to operate the rides. One of the reason they closed was the safty of the park employees, because it was getting really foggy and alot of employees have to drive home. Everybody who came in knew the weather had been nasty for two days in the area, the park decided to try and give it a try with opening witch they did not have to. Most parks do not have special season pass event for their passholder and yes it was unfourtanate that they closed but they atleast opened the gates. I can not eplain the rudness of the employees but it may have been because they had been complained at by the guest because we were planing on closing early. just my two cents

  13. I run a haunted yard set in my front yard, have benn doing this for six years. Atleast every two years i add something new to this setup. Last year i added a blacklight, fog and strobe tent. I used a car port, split it down the center with ground covers (the tarps you can buy at lowes). On the one side i had strobe light that flashed on and off, and on the other side i took cardboard and spray paited florresant paint on. i hung this from the roof of the carport, put black lights inside to react with the cardboard, both sides had fog pumped in from fog machine located in the back. This year i am adding a clown section to the haunt. i am in the planning phase, hope to start construction by Oct 6. Next year i am going to build an actual walk thru haunt

  14. Yep, it is John N., I'll have to keep my eyes out for him. But for an average guest, I doubt I'd see him.

John is still with the park and it would not be difficult to find him, he is no longer in rides. He is now the manager for the park services dept, i work for him and he is one of the best guy to work under and with.

  15. First off, let me start out by saying congrats on the nomination for the award. I may see you there as i am going with one of my fellow sups who was nominated, too. Also, for those who don't know what this is, it's an award banquet for park employees -- they have different awards for different thing. This is held in the old country picnic grove.

OK, so i'm going to the park on Thursday for the golden carousel awards. I'm excited! Its gonna be closed and Do you think they will have started with decorations yet?

P.S- I have a feeling a mod will find a better home for this topic, lol. :discipline:

There wont be that much stuff out - it will be in back area, their might be cobwebs and stuff. The majority will be put up next week, and so on. I was able to get onto work crew for Halloween this season
