Harry, any word on what to expect for these “upgrades” to the Log Flume and Big Wheel? Happy to see them getting love but curious about how extensive the upgrades would be.

Retheme to Wizard of Oz.

The only thing I'm not sold on about this being the addition is the fact that the 163 * 13 is meters, not feet. A US-based park would not be creating press releases and advertising highlighting a new coaster's dimensions in meters, and therefore wouldn't be doing marketing teasers in meters, either.
Then again, it'd be totally on brand for Six Flags to have created these teasers based off of a quick glance at the stats and completely overlook the fact that it's in meters and not feet. So who knows.

Wouldn’t sneeze at that at all.

Love to see the TLC the Safari received. Now I'm curious about what they'll do with the old infrastructure built out for the Offroad Adventure version of it, including Camp Aventura.

Sad to see another old park structure go, but its honestly outlived its purpose at this point and sticks out like a sore thumb. Thanks for the memories!

I'm on board for whatever it takes to get the coaster a fresh coat of paint.

I remember loving these as a kid. We always played around with them each time we went to the park!

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but I get security connection errors whenever I try to open this Spotlight as well as the one on Magic Hands. It doesn't happen on any of the other ones. I've tried multiple different browsers, both on my work computer as well as my phone, and I run into the same issue each time. Just wanted to give a heads up.

I haven't seen any mention of a single rider line. I assume there isn't one?

Wow, I don't know how I missed it, but I totally overlooked how that building used to be the Fun Factory. Excellent makeover!

Next weekend is not good for the weather folks, there's going to be rain all day on Saturday and Sunday. Darn it, well, is the weather is going to change because I'm going to the park on this Saturday or Sunday.
I heard the weather will improve if you decide to take photos of the construction site and post them here.

Has anyone visiting the park recently seen any of the new Great Adventure nanocoasters from Coaster Dynamix for sale? I've seen them advertise both Nitro and Kingda Ka online but haven't been able to get to the park in recent weeks. I may swing by this Friday.

Paul Drabek over at Negative-G just posted a trip report from ACE Coaster Con at SFMM. One of his photos is a model of GASM that the park pulled out of storage for the event. His guess is that this model was sent to SFMM in order to promote Viper as they had a similar layout. Harry, are you familiar with the model, and is there any validity to Paul's hunch?

At this point, this is more valuable as nearly anything OTHER than an amusement park. I would not be surprised to see residential development spring up here. It's a shame to lose all the history of this place, but it's not even as if management had cared one bit about that kind of stuff (or anything, really).

Harry, not sure if you're aware, but the links for your 1993 and 1994 poster maps aren't correct. The links are currently mapped to a hard drive instead of a website URL.
Awesome job collecting all of these documents and sharing it with all of us! Such incredible history available at our fingertips!

Although I'm happy the park went in this direction, anyone else think those numbers are a bit close together? Seems like a bit close for comfort.

Great Adventure History website NEEDS update guys. We need to add Jersey Devil Coaster to roller coaster section soon along with Looney Tunes Seaport being removed.
Patience is a virtue, you know. Surely there must be SOMETHING else with which you can occupy your time.
May I suggest a timeless ball and cup game?

Wow, those were just repainted a few short years ago!
That's what I was thinking at first, too, but when you see the new vs. old side-by-side, it became pretty clear it needed it again. Still, happy to see the touch-ups throughout the park, very curious to know if there are other ones out there that I missed last weekend!

The Batman logo isn't the only thing with some fresh paint on it. The bathroom next to Studio 28 Arcade has been painted (now blue & grey), and Nitro's exit ramps are about 50% of the way repainted.

I do like that they're proposing to move the arboretum to across from the transaction rather than eliminate it altogether. This looks like it's going to bring us very close to finally seeing each of the former parts of the Old Country section rehabbed and reopened to the public. Hopefully tree loss is relatively minimal.
