MarioSonic94
I'm not much of an art critic, but these posters are excellent. Props to whoever painted them.
RobertDavid
Does anyone know why these signs were removed? I imagine they may not have been very effective. While they were very attractive and the artwork was excellent, I can not imagine people would stop heading toward the front gate to go over and look at them. There was nothing about them that would grab you from a distance and redirect you from heading into the park. It was nice, however, that they advertised what the park had to offer instead of M&Ms and Discover Cards.
29yrswithaGApass
The main reason the posters were removed was because those display cases weren't really weatherproof. The posters constantly faced water damage and were replaced multiple times. In the end they just abandoned the idea. For several years after the main entrance posters were removed, copies of the prints could be found hanging inside the season pass processing center when it was located under the Great Lake Grandstands. 29yrswithaGApass
Below are a few more pictures of the short-lived attraction posters which were featured in the outside mall during 1994.
dougdrummer
what's with the yellow paint on the backs?
29yrswithaGApass
I think that's the wood coming through the paint. Maybe they didn't use exterior paint or plywood. Could explain their short life at the park.
