I think most people are not voting for the logo they think is best, but are voting for the logo that brings back the most memories for them because it was the logo of the park when they started going.

While the rainbow brings back the most memories for me, I believe the lion is by far the best logo. It's the only one that actually represented the park itself. It represented both the theme park and safari and used elements you actually find in each park, as well as being colorful, fanciful, and imaginative. Rainbows have been overdone and have nothing to do with the park, and all the other logos are just boring corporate symbols.

:balloon: Did anyone notice that the Great Adventure hot air balloon and tiger logo is no longer on our forums header or home page? :balloon:

I did!!!! but sometimes when I go on it's still the ballon and sometimes it's the tepee.

Problem:

I'm curious as to why you dropped the balloon and changed to the teepee?

Let's just say that the park has a renewed interest in Great Adventure's history and while you may no longer see it used as our logo, someone else may be making use of it sometime soon! ;) It is an exciting time to be interested in the nostalgia associated with the park! Wait and see!

Now, if we could only use:

GO Historic!

GO GreatAdventureHistory.com! :P

Oh boy. Does this mean they are going to have more control over this website? That's fine with me but, I would imagine less freedom to say what we want. :P

No, that's not the case. The park has been fantastic to work with and we have no reason to believe that will be different in the future. They have never directed or edited any content we have shared on GAH. We truly respect the park and its history and hopefully that shows in how we present our material here. Our great working relationship has been very helpful in numerous past projects and we look forward to more collaborations with Great Adventure in the future!

That's great! I really love hearing how Great Adventure is so personal. I feel that the people in charge are very down to earth and love sharing the history of the park with the public! They are very hands on and love comments/criticsims from the guest themselves!

Then this sounds like very good news and, perhaps, Six Flags returning a bit of individual identity to its parks.

That's the way I'm looking at it, with parks celebrating their history and embracing their original names/logos. I think they've realized they've alienated many of the people who grew up with parks like Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, etc.

Now you know one of the reasons I mentioned we were switching logos! ;)

I expected to see the 90's and todays logo on the scrambler too. Either way i am glad they did this. For me simple things like this help to make a ride better.
When might we know that the other reason is why you switched logos?

The 90's logos were more generic Six Flags style, with little to no emphasis on the actual park name.

We also like to change things up periodically on the site to keep it fresh, as well as so we know when we've updated pages and added new photos.
