29yrswithaGApass
Then and now: How 24 iconic N.J. sites have changed over the years By Amy Kuperinsky | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com Posted March 28, 2017 Old photos offer a window into how things were, stirring memories of how New Jersey used to be. But what happens when you compare them to how the same places look today? We zeroed in on vintage scenes from some of the most recognizable Jersey sites — recreational staples like amusement parks, shopping malls, boardwalks, landmarks, restaurants and more, and held them up to the present to see what our state looks like, 'then and now.' These places are where we played as children, where we bought the clothes we wore, where we spent summers on the beach, where we went thrill-seeking, where we cruised the Jersey highways and walked our city streets. In this march through time, you'll notice some sites have hardly changed, while many others have undergone complete overhauls. Some of these structures and diversions aren't even there anymore. Yoshi
Those pictures of the park from years ago with the same area more recently are interesting. It seems like the park has changed a lot compared to some other parks especially with Golden Kingdom, Plaza Del Carnaval and all the major coasters added in the past 15 - 18 years. The Master
LOL, their now picture for the park is pretty outdated, with Scream Machine and Rolling Thunder still in place. Couldn't they find a more recent picture? Not surprised they didn't do a then and now of Camden, once a decent town turned into a hellhole. Matt Kaiser
I assume Harry sent them the photos?
29yrswithaGApass
Yup, I did. That was the only aerial view from the same general perspective as the pre-opening aerial construction shot that I could locate. I requested that they note the "now" photo in that pair was from 2006 and they did reference that.
