I question why they boarded this up.  Surely it now draws more attention than the stand simply sitting unopened.  It’s sad especially since it dates back to 1974.

I'm feeling pretty bummed out at the state of the park right now. It's reminiscent of the Red Zone / Shapiro years. Rides shuttered, shops shuttered, gimmicky shops or experiences, and meager attempts at beautification in some areas while others are much lacking. It just makes me sad.

What would be your best estimate/guess of the day's attendance.  I'm truly appalled by some of these photos and the lack of people in the park.  I tried counting every person in your photos regardless of whether they were guests or employees and, sadly, the total is less than 200.  Probably the least perfect method for estimating actual attendance.  That being said, I think back to what an empty, open park looked like in the 80's and I don't ever recall so few people in the park on a bright, sunny, May day.

 

I'm now praying for this park's survival under the current CEO.

^ Actually, the attendance was much higher than I expected due in large part to school trips.  When I left the park I was surprised to see how many buses were in the parking and a fair amount of cars.  It was the most I've seen on a weekday since COVID.

$43 for parking is really something.

 

Also, credit where it's due, the Quick6 store looks better than I expected.
