GA's public relations director discusses the park's 1979 opening day with an Asbury Park Press reporter.  The park's opening day went smoothly with about 7,000 in attendance.  Only the Sky Ride was closed due to high winds, while the new Pet-A-Pet in Kiddie Kingdom would open soon.  Rolling Thunder would open the following month.
