Following the previous seson's small dip in attendance (the first since Six Flags bought the park in late 1977), Great Adventure began shifting its marketing efforts, with more of a focus on families. In this article, then Marketing Director, Bob Carsia explains the reasons for the change in an interview with a Home News newspaper reporter, early in the park's 1982 season.
