Ray Williams speaks to the Asbury Park Press editorial board about the park's renewed focus on families, safety, and security at the end of March, just prior to the park opening for 1988.  One way or the other, Six Flags emphasized its commitment to the Great Adventure property, which just a few seasons earlier had ranked only behind the Disney parks in terms of attendance.
