  1. Studio Ghibli Fanboys

Usually when it comes to calling out fanboys, anime fanboys are always the first ones listed. But these guys are in a league much worse than those losers. While I love the films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, the fans are really arrogant and think that Ghibli's films are better than every film ever made and will thrash American cinema and animation nonstop, from Charlie Chaplin's The Kid to The Lion King. Usually these guys are mostly weeaboos that will orgasm to anything from the land of the rising sun (or in this case, Studio Ghibli). The best weapon against these weeaboos is to point out the obvious fact that there are films (animation or otherwise) that are as good if not better some of Ghibli's films (i.e. Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mel Brooks films, Ed Wood, The Lion King, Aladdin). Just take a look a this blog by this Minnesota weeaboo. Now I know why the Onion calls the state "The Land of 10,000 Retards":

I'd like to add weeaboos in general to that one. Animation is great, but why should the country of origin be an indicator of quality? And why do they try to justify crap like Love Hina and Lucky Star when there are much better American works like the DCAU and Pixar's Up?

  2. Please don't be rude when you disagree with me; I know some of these are really popular, and I'm not saying that all of them are bad (I thought most of them were, though).

    Avatar

    The Iron Man movies

    A New Hope

    Anything with Seth Rogen

    The Graduate

    Anything by Don Bluth

Also, Goodfellas. It's not a bad movie, it just felt dull and lifeless compared to other dramas I've seen.

  3. Oops... I didn't mean to say Western-- I was thinking of something else... sorry. True that the park already has Nitro, but I think that Nitro is too good of a ride to get rid of. It is a popular ride and is in great shape. But, just look at Cedar Point--they have Millenium Force AND Magnum XL-200 and both of them are still good and both are pretty popular. Yes, Magnum XL isn't in as good of shape as Millenium Force is, but it is still pretty good and the park does fine with both of the rides there.

You have a point with that, but wouldn't a wider variety of coasters be more enjoyable and more financially practical than multiples of the same style?

  4. I personally would choose option 3--I would probably trade a ride for Millenium Force in Cedar Point. I am not sure which ride I would give up, maybe Rolling Thunder or Batman--I am not a fan of either( R.T. hurts depending on where you sit, Batman just isn't that great of a ride anymore. It is still fun, but it is getting old and it is very quick). I'd choose Millenium Force because it is a great ride in general. It has a nice hill, it has awesome banked turns, and it is a pretty lengthy ride. I also think it would fit nicely in the park, but space would be a problem for the ride. I am sure they could re-theme it some how to make it fit well in the park. They could even theme it Western style and put it in Old Country and make a grand re-opening of the Old Country, but need to find sufficient space for it first...

But if it was western style it wouldn't fit with Old Country's Bavarian village theme. Also, I don't see any point in removing either of those coasters, which are still good working coasters, in exchange for something that similar to Nitro. It should be something the park doesn't already have.

  5. Hello, I'm Patrick. I last went to the park around '96 but I'm going to be in the area next week and will definitely make at least one visit. I only wish that the Chiller was still there, it looked fun technical issues aside.

Yeah, the weather wasn't exactly cooperative when I was down there, so I didn't get to go. Hopefully I'll get to try again in August.
