  1. After another Night at the North Conway Grand Hotel, we left Thursday Morning July 28th and went through New Hampshire out to Maine to the Stonewall Kitchen Factory Tour and Shop in York, ME and then to the Nubble Light House. The Factory Tour was GREAT, the Shop and Café were Super Crowded, The Light House area had some amazing views. We then headed south through Maine and New Hampshire and the HORRIBLE Traffic through Massachusetts to Plymouth, MA. We stayed at The John Carver Inn, a ok hotel, the Hotel Resturant had GREAT FOOD but VERY SLOW SERVICE, We ate Dinner Thursday and Friday Night at the Surfside Smokehouse, this place is great and had the best NE Clam Chowder and Ribs I ever had. On Friday we got up and it was raining, we got to Edaville/Thomasland/Dino World at about 10:30, they opened at 10:00, it was raining lightly and we got on Free Fallin' before entering Thomas Land, there we went on Toby's Tilting Tracks and Bertie's Bus Tours. Rain started to pick up, but we got on The Diesel Derby and Sodor's Cranberry Carousel, it was now pouring but we got on The Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster and Cranky's Crane Drop. Soaked we decided to go inside to The Dockside Diner, we dried off and ate Pizza, Hot Dog and PBJ with some Drinks. We Stayed in there about a hour and went into The Sodor Shipping Company to see Sir Topham Hat. The Great thing was, in the rain there were only about 9 people in the park, once the rain stopped at about 1:00 the attandence rose to about 30 in Thomas Land. We Then did Harold's Lift Off and the Sodor Indoor Play Area, This Place was Beautiful and Clean, while inside it stopped raining. We went Back outside the TT Runaway Coaster, then Rockin' Bulstrode and back to Cranky's Crane Drop, onto Firefighting Flynn, The Sodor Windmill, backt to Berties Bus Tours and Tobys Tilting Tracks. We then went into the Knapford Gift Shop, All they had was Wooden, Take-n-Play and Trackmaster Trains, Some Clothes and Odds and Ends, but no Park Souvieniers. We went back to Edaville and went on The Drummer Boy, Samba Balloon Ride and Jet About Ride. We now went to the Ladybug Spinning Coaster, this is a nice little coaster but went around 6 times, my nephew then got on and we went around 3 times and I started feeling sick, so they stopped the ride, luckily it wasn't crowded. I got some water and felt better. We then went on The Jolly Caterpillar, The Flying Elephants, Big Eli and Finally the Thomas Train Ride, this was a nice ride around Edaville, Thomas Land, The Cranberry Bogs and also saw a new area there working on with The Kersplash Roller Coaster Flume, Go Carts and Bumper Boats. Also Late This Year or 2017 They will be opening Dickens Village and Pirate Adventure in 2017(possibly a Dark Ride). If you have a little one who likes Thomas, this place is a must for them, they will love it. We then Headed back to Plymouth and visited Plymouth Rock and The Mayflower. On Saturday we left to come back to New Jersey. Thank You, Take Care

  2. On Tuesday July 26th we left Santa's Village and traveled to a new hotel in North Conway, NH, This a nice hotel, the restaurant was GREAT for Dinner and Good for Breakfest, the only negative is the amount of kids at the hotel. Next to the hotel was Settlers Green Outlet Shops, very nice shops. On Wednesday July 27th we got up and got to Story Land at 9:39, the park opened at 9:30, once in the park we traveled through all the Fairy Tale Exibits(Humpty Dumpty, Three Bears House, Woman in the Shoe) Our first ride was Alice's Tea Cups which was a little different, the tea cups went in a figure eight, again my nephew loved the spinning: next was the Swan Boats, this was cool because they weren't on a track and you had to steer them: we then went to the Storyland Queen Cruise, the Operator Guide was very good and kept everyone interested, there was also a draw bridge: we then headed up the hill and got a drink, after which we went to the Polar Coaster, a very slow coaster, probably better of a kiddy coaster then Cocoa Cruiser or Road Runner. We then headed to Splash Battle Oasis, we all got soaked on this on and out of it. We then headed to Roar-A-Saurus, This was my nephew and mine first wooden roller coaster, It was really Great, the drop and curves were good, the bunny hills really had us bouncing around, after this we went to Crazy Barn and Eggs-Tradordinary Farm Tractors which had a on ride Photo. We then went to The Great Balloon Chase Ferris Wheel and back to Polar coaster and the Dutch Shoes. We then took a Lunch Break at Sandwich Oasis, Dutch Village Ice Cream and Hawaiian Ice. After this we went on the Bamboo Chutes, This was ok but GA, Hershey and Santa's Village have better Flumes, next was Dr. Geyser's Remarkable Raft Ride, this was a rapids ride, we got SOAKED( should have worn Swimming Trunks), we then dried off and did some shopping before heading back to North Conway.

Here is my nephews Ride Count.

Alice's Tea Cup x1, Swan Boats x1, Storyland Queen x1, Polar Coaster x3, Splash Battle Oasis x1, Roar-A-Saurus x1, Crazy Barn x4, Eggs-Traodinary Farm Tractors x2, Dutch Shoes x1, Bamboo Shutes x3 and Dr. Geyser's Remarkable Raft Ride x2.

  3. When I went to Holiday World back in 2007 I was disappointed in their Christmas section. It was so underwhelming that we didn't even realize we passed through it as it is their first section of the park. Their other sections were so much better executed.

Santa's Village looks so much nicer.

It was Great and they had Christmas Music Playing throughout the Park.

  4. Great report! I love the Christmas themed rides.

This ride must have been manufactured by Chance Rides. It looks like a kiddie version of Great Adventure's Super Sidewinder!

I was also in NH last weekend (family reunion), and then Maine. Couldn't get to any parks, though. :(

This was one of the parks I tried convincing my family to stop at.

If you had the time it would have been a nice park to visit. Also Went to Storyland and Edaville, but I like Santa's Village the most.

  5. On Sunday July 24th we left for a 6 night trip. On Sunday we left Sayreville, NJ and traveled to Springfield, MA, after eating Lunch and checking in, we went to the Basketball Hall of Fame. The HOF was very nice, but has nothing on the Baseball Hall of Fame. Next we went to the Dr. Seuss Sculpture Exiibit and Gardens, this was very nice, just not in a great neighborhood. I wanted to make it over the Six Flags New England but was over ruled, oh well, will have to wait a year or two. On Monday Morning we Left and went to Deerfield, MA to Yankee Candle Village, this place is hugh and has everything, my nephew was able to have his hand waxed and made a candle, colored four candles, he also saw Mrs. Claus. This Place is very nice but a little pricy, We then traveled up through Vermont and into New Hampshire, we stopped at the Schilling Brewing Company in Littleton, NH and had Dinner, this is a very nice place and the Beer Cheese Dip for the Pretzle Sticks is amazing, the pizza is very good to. Next we headed to our hotel up the street from Santa's Village in Jefferson, NH, it was called the Lantren Inn and was nice. On Tuesday we went into Santa's Village when they opened at 9:30, my nephew loved the Elfabet Game, he had to find 26 elves and have his card punched, he got them all and got a keychain and a diploma. We went to The Great Humbug Adventure, we got on just in time, as the ride was packed the rest of the day, I really liked this, better the Hershey's Extreme Cup Challenge. Next was Little Elf Flying School and then The Christmas Ferris Wheel, The view from the Top is amazing, all you see is Mountains. After this we headed to The Skyway Sleigh Monorail which is a nice little ride, The Little Drummer Boy(My Nephew really likes to spin these now), we went over to the new Roller Coaster(Poogee's Penguin Spin Coaster) but the line was very long and my nephew didn't want to wait, next was the Yule Log Flume, we did it three times and you really get soaked, liked it better the Great Adventure's, Hershey's and Story Land. We now did the Giant Snowman, Nativity, Book Shop and Snowball Mall with a ride on the Chimney Drop. We stopped for lunch at Dasher's Delights, very nice food. After Lunch we went to Pixie Mix, Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, Rudy's Rapid Transit Coaster( This was a really nice Jr. Coaster that seemed a lot faster then the posted speed), next was Red Hot Racers, Hot Shots Fire Brigade and The Reindeer Carousel, we picked up some treats and left for North Conway, NH. I really liked Santa's Village, wish it was coaster, it was super clean and looked like rides are painted every year, the staff are super nice.

  6. Left for Hershey on Tuesday July 12, we Shopped at the Tanger Outlets First and then Checked into The Hotel Hersey at about 2:30, Beautiful Hotel, We had Lunch and then checked out Hershey Gardens. At 7:00 we headed over to the park and got my Five Year Old Nephew on a couple rides: Balloon Flite, Ladybug, Resse's Extreme Cup Challenge, Swing Thing, Monorail and the Mini Pirate, we then caught the Shuttle back to hotel and got back in the room at 11:00. On Wednesday July 13 we got to the park at about 10:00 and the first thing we did was buy the Season Drink Cups, 2 Cups $9.99 each, refill are then $1.05, we got on Resse's Extreme Cup Challenge x2, Balloon Flite, Swing Thing, Mini Pirate x2, Dizzy Drums and Cocoa Cruiser x2. By this time from walking all the hills my nephew was tired, so we stopped and had Dippin Dots and a Pretzel, we got walking again and Did the Hershey Plinko, Met Miss Peppermint Patty, then moved on to more Rides, Dry Gulch Railroad, Ferris Wheel(love GA's so much better), Pony Parade, Granny Bug and Crazy Mouse x2, played the frog game and had Lunch at Chickie's & Pete's. We then wrapped up the Day with the Kissing Tower x2, Frog Hopper X2 and some Games, Caught the Shuttle back to the hotel and went to the amazing outdoor pool, my nephew got his shirt, shoes and one sock off and Thunder sounded, the whistles blew and needles to say my nephew was upset so we went back to our room and rested. Later on the storms passed and we went back to the pool, we were the only ones there and he really enjoyed it, they have Jets Shooting up, a Mushrrom and two large slides, the staff and lifeguards are amazing. On Thursday July 14 we got to the park at about 11:00 and it was even hotter then Wednesday so we got our cups filled right away, then did Mini-Himalaya, Balloon Flite, Swing Thing x2, Bizzy Bees, Ladybug, Mini Pirate x 2, Dizzy Drums and Cocoa Cruiser x3 including twice by himself, we then stopped off for Dippin Dots and a Pretzel Again and then moved on to Mini Scrambler, Livery Stables, Trailblazer, Red Baron x2 and Convoy x2. There are a lot of Marking around Convoy, Red Baron, Frog Hopper and Flying Falcon, Looks like Hershey may be getting a Drop Tower in 2017. We then did a lot of Games in the AC and went back to the hotel. After a nice Rest and Cool Down we took the Shuttle back to the park and went to Chocolate World, This place is amazing, the tour was cute, the food was good and the gift shop was out of THiIS WORLD, it was so BIG, did a lot of shopping and headed back to the hotel, another night in the pool and a good night sleep. On Friday July 15, I took the shuttle to the park at 8:45 and just ran into chocolate world to get my nephew the Jolly Rancher Stuffed Toy, then headed back to the hotel for breakfast and left for Jersey at Noon. I really like, but they need People Movers, They have a Sky Ride, Train Ride and Monorail with no stops.

Centralized Park Entrance: GA, People Mover: GA, Parking Lot and Lot Transportation: HP, Beautiful and Clean Park Grounds: HP. Will be going to Following Parks in the Coming Weeks, Santa's Village, Story Land, Thomas Land and maybe Six Flags New England. Take Care

  7. Got to the park around 10:40 with my Father and 5 year old Nephew. Alot of School Trips and the Security Entry was Packed, took us about 15-20 minutes, no line at the ticket booth to get my Father a ticket, used the 14.99 bring a friend deal, proceeded to entry gate with no lines. Tweety and Sylvester were near the fountain, went on the Big Wheel first with a one cycle wait and they started loading 4 cars at a time, next was Hall of Justice Shop to take advantage of the Season pass deals, next we went to Jumpin Joey and my Nephew got 3 straight rides without getting off, next was Safari Tours, after that we crossed the bridge to Road Runner Railway Coaster, we got on twice, next was Taz Tornado Swings, then Air Safari, Bugaboo, Raja's Rickshaws and then on to the Jolly Roger. The Sky Ride was closed due to wind so we had to walk over to Best of the West(chicken tenders, pulled pork and fries were great, the burger was like rubber) AfterLunch we went to Bugs Bunny National Park and went on Daffys Hot Air Balloons, Bugs Bunny Camp Carousel, Foghorn Leghorns Stagecoach, Wile E Coyote Canyon Blaster(the girl operator really was great, interacting with the guests, making sound effects and playing games, we went a few weeks ago and I think she was working the Porkys Wagons) next was Porky Pig's Camp Wagons, Bugs Bunny Ranger Piolts. We finished with a game and the Carousel. Had a great trip, the following rides were closed: Sky Ride, Sky Screamer, Skull Mountain, Bugs Bunny Barnstormer, Houdinis Great Escape and The Parachutes.

  8. I think the future will be tricky for SFGA, AC has offered Bader Field to be a theme park and in 2017-2018 DreamWorld will open in the Meadowlands with the worlds tallest and longest water slides and a 285 foot ferris wheel, DreamWorld will also be open all year long and have acces by car, train and bus.

Six Flags should not worry about AC, but the need to combat DreamWorld and they did a good start by only being closed for 2 1/2 months this year.

2017: Dark Ride, New Parking Lot.

2018: Replace 50% of old walkways in Park, Re-Open Old Country with 4 new flats.

2019: Expand BBNP with some repainted/renamed rides from LTSP and Safari Kids including road runner coaster. Open DC super friend area with new roller coaster similar to vapor trail or kids woodie and a rotating bounce tower similar to tick top drop but taller. Replace 25% of walkways.

2020: replace 25% of walkways, new coaster.

    2021: new coaster, new flats.

This would cost alot, but more money should be put into GA with the nearby Competition.

  9. I think that a DC Super Friends Area could be added in the back area between The Joker and Bugs Bunny National Park. Then we would have two (or three if the north Boardwalk counts) DC themed sections.

I feel Bugs Bunny National Park is the best kids area in the park. Move a few rides from Safari kids there and knock down Safari kids and Bugs seaport and replace with DC Super Friends.

Guess these Pictures were before the snow, at least it's melting quick. Love the new colors.

  10. Was there yesterday also, arrived about 11:30 and left at about 7:00. It was my first time to park since 2003 and boy has alot changed for the worse. Craters in the sidewalks, did they ever hear about Cold-Patch, food was expensive, more then Hershey, they also had one window open on a 10 window food stand; however, I visited Storybook Land, Sesame Place, Dutch Wonderland, Hershey Park and now Great Adventure this year and GA has a great food selection, only Hershey has better, but not by much. The rides were very slow with just one ride operator on most, rides that Sesame would have two or three on, just two operators on the big wheel, where Hershey has four or six. Also saw a ride operator leave a screaming kid on a ride before it even started, other parks ask the parent to take him off. The Game operators were great however. Its great they have a people mover in the skyride, but why use it when it's a 20 minute wait, it only takes 8 minutes on foot. I love the layout still, very easy to get around the park, I'm thankful GA is not as big as Hershey. Bathrooms were clean except for the pool on the floor, shops had some great deals, characters were great, I like how there roller coaster selection let's you graduate slowly, would like them to add a coaster like SuperDooperLooper at Hershey, but I still like GA over Hershey in the Roller Coaster Dept. GA needs to add more family rides and change up some of kid rides. If GA wants to become great they need to order tons of Paint, Concrete and Asphalt; hire alot more employees; fix the bathroom problem; add a few more family rides; expand by building a hotel and arena outside the park and knock down the arena in the park; add sidewalks in the parking lot and bring back the trams or a monorail with stops at hotel, arena, hurricane harbor, 3 stops in parking lot and front gate. I plan on visiting for Christmas and twice in 2016, the season pass deal was too good to turn down. GA Really needs to get going on improvments before Dreamworld opens, if there pipe dream of putting a roller coaster over the NJ Turnpike becomes a reality, GA is in trouble. Just my thoughts, have a nice day.
