  1. Id love to see the Zamperla Giant Discovery come to the park in 2018. A frisbee is one of the major flat rides that we dont have yet and mostly everyone does. It would be even better to get a 2nd gen enterprise too! Although its unlikely, it would be awesome to have an RMC come to the park. Also, it's going to be cool watching Justice League get built during Holiday in the Park. Correct me if im wrong, but isnt it kind of surprising how the park hasnt actually announced where JL will actually be located, even though it will be the Chiller spot?
  2. To me, the definition of a dark ride is any indoor attraction (thats not a coaster). If there is a coasters indoors, its just simply called an indoor coaster. In my book, the type of ride JL would be is an "Interactive Dark Ride" which I believe is actually the correct way to say it. A ride like Houdini would be a pure dark ride, and a ride like TDK or Skull Mountain would be an indoor coaster
  3. I couldnt agree more! People need to start accepting what we get! They also need to realize that the people making the decisions for new rides arent idiots. The only "bad" thing SF corp has done in the last few years is market the super loops as coasters (you could even argue adding the super loops in general were a mistake.)
  4. So now with JL semi-confirmed, we now have a high-quality dark ride to add to the list of our already amazing ride collection. With this addition the whole right side of the park will most likely come to life, considering its a family attraction, and those who like Toy Story Mania will come running over. Movietown will finally be alive again!! Hopefully Great Adventure comes out with an idea for a show in the Showcase Theater! It would be awesome if Brad Ross came back....
  5. You all need to stop hating on the fact that the park is most likely getting JL. Its a great ride (based on what I've heard) and its just exactly what our park needs. Just because we cant get a coaster every single year doesnt mean you guys have a freak attack! We could have a crappy park like La Ronde or Great Escape for crying out loud! And why are you guys fussing over the fact its in Chillers spot, thats probably the best location for it! Its a small space, the queue is already there, it wont be noisy so when shows are in Showcase theater, and there are DC themed coasters around. Also, the park has needed a nice, Busch Gardens/ Universal level dark ride for god knows how long! This is the perfect addition for our park, and I like it!
  6. Ive posted on picture on this post on the facebook page GADV Conoisseurs, https://www.facebook.com/groups/sfgadvconnoisseurs/permalink/906261519482808/(idk how to post a pic on here lol), but basically the guy who posted it confirms its parts for 2017. And he is pretty credible! I really would be happy to see a T-Rex, but I really do think this park needs a Justice League Dark Ride. Flats would also do too
  7. This is all just speculation that I'm about to say... but it looks like Over Georgia may be getting the other Justice League dark ride (with Magic Mountain being the obvious first park getting it). Over Georgia recently removed their huge Bumper Cars attraction for their new 2017 attraction. Given the location of where the former Bumper Cars used to be, which is right next to their Superman AND their Batman coasters, you can easily infer that a Justice League dark ride would be perfect in that spot. So if Over Georgia is getting Justice League, that opens the question for what is Great Adventure getting? Well we could definitley see the flat package Over Texas got this past year, and it would certainly make sense because the park would always take some flats (Riddler Revenge would fit perfectly in the Chiller station spot, and have the enterprise across from it!). We could also be getting a T-Rex, but even though we seem to be the park that would be the best to place a prototype at, i dont believe it's coming in 2017 or 2018, 2019 at least (especially if 2018 is our Justice League year). What do you guys think of my prediction that OG will be getting JL and we could possibly see a flat package?
  8. They should at least have a sign that says "NO ROCKING" at the end at least. Well everyone makes mistakes I guess
  9. I was at the park today hoping to ride THE JOKER. I was even picked up from school, and I missed a very important test. So here's my trip report on one of the most annoying trips I've ever been on, but before I start, I understand its a new ride, but the park can't at least put something out that the ride could be closed? Anyway here it is... I got to the park around 3:10 and headed straight to Joker to see that there was suprisingly still a group of people waiting for it to open. I thought, "wasn't it supposed to open like 15 minutes ago?" So I waited. I waited for about 15 more minutes till 3:30, still hasnt open, then I started to wonder if NJ STILL hadnt approved the ride. I know NJ is strict, but come on Six Flags, you couldnt have had them approve it a few hours before, or even a day before!! Then, John Fitzgerald comes over to us and the first thing he says is bad news, and i thought we would just have to wait a few more hours, no biggie could just ride Toro and Ka, but no, he says that the ride will not open at all today. I was pretty darn furious because not only had i missed some school, I had straight up just drove up for no reason at all. The park gave no warning at all and all the gave us was an exit pass for the ride. Sure that will work out in the future but I was still furious because I was extremely hyped to ride this. Anyway, so once I got my exit pass and left, I went over to the log flume. That was down for about 30 minutes too!!! Then I went over to Toro, that was down for around 20 minutes, plus an 80 minute line!!!! After that I decided to leave because the park was packed with schools and my luck was absolutely terrible for that day. The park was suprisingly packed for a Thursday! Anyway, Im just furious that I pretty much wasted my Thursday afternoon! Hopefully I can make it back out this weekend and try THE JOKER!
  10. According to a park email sent out Wednesday, April 27th, the park will be adding a new, never before offered All Season FLASH pass! There is no confirmed price as of now. Here are some of the qualities of this new FLASH pass as from the email sent... An All-Season THE FLASH Pass features: THE FLASH Pass Gold service level Guaranteed reservation with photo ID Up to 50% less wait time Valid all 2016 season at Six Flags Great Adventure Exclusive for Six Flags Pass Holders and Members Add up to 5 riders each visit for an additional fee (at the park) Upgrade to Platinum service level at the park for an additional fee Enter through THE FLASH Pass Headquarters Online Express entrance. Are you guys excited about the new All Season FLASH pass? Or would you rather the park keep the current system?
  11. Thought I should bring up how this season will be Skull Mountain's 20th season in operation! People have been wondering about the park adding some more effects or props to the ride to celebrate 20 years of one of the best family rides (and one heck of a ride in the back). What are your thoughts on if the park should do something like this to celebrate Skull Mountain's 20th birthday?
  12. Although its really not a coincidence that both parks do not have one, i think that MM and Great Adventure will both be getting the Justice League Dark Ride, and I do agree with how both parks demolished two unused buildings. Although the two buildings getting demolished could mean absolutley nothing, I wouldnt be suprised if both parks got them. Great Adventure and Magic Mountain both BADLY need a dark ride. Please correct me if im wrong but Magic Mountain doesnt even have an indoor, air conditioned ride. Great Adventure doesnt really need a dark ride as much as MM does, but the park still does need one more than most other parks. Its pretty obvious that the two parks are getting them, but now for the locations. MMs will be in the Batman Stunt Arena spot, and GAdvs will be either in the Chiller's old spot or the Right Stuff theater. I believe it will be in the Chiller's because when you think about it, all they would have to do is build the building, and make the actual dark ride! They already have a huge queue that they could use. And it would get more people coming into Movietown! I dont think it would be in the Right Stuff theater because you would have to do a LOT more work. A good idea for The Right Stuff theater would be to do something like what Carowinds added this year something like the Plants V Zombies 3Z arena idea. I think that would be really cool and would take advantage of that theater
  13. I would love to see both repainted, but im slightly leaning towards SOME of Nitro to be repainted. By some, I mean the queue to be redone, that ugly station to be redone, and the predrop and lift hill to be repainted. No other parts of Nitro really need to be repainted besides the predrop and lift. I also think theres a slight possibility that they could just say F*** it and just repaint the whole ride with a whole new set of colors because people have been asking for years for new colors and repaint, so the park would be knocking out two birds with one stone
  14. Well, in the new pass holder email, it says that there is a go kart season pass on sale for 35$, which i believe is a discount (please correct me if im wrong). This hints at the Great American Road Race possibly being that 90's attraction that "no one will shed a tear for"? EDIT: I just read from the guy that originated the rumor on TPR forums that the ride was indeed Blackbeard being rethemed to Harley Quinn Crazy Train
  15. 1. Batman & Robin: The Chiller was removed around 9 years ago. 2. Bizarro was rethemed a few years ago, it doesnt need to be rethemed unless they would indeed retheme back to Medusa, but I doubt they would do that because more people would rather buy Bizarro items than Medusa items. If they got rid of Bizarro, all Bizarro marketing would become sort of irrelevant. 3. I doubt they would retheme Blackbeard unless they would retheme the whole area. There really isnt a point of retheming a kiddie coaster for no reason. 4. Although Six Flags Great Adventure would be a somewhat likely place for Six Flags' first giga coaster, I honestly think that isnt what the park needs not what they want to add at the moment. I personally believe if we do get a coaster it will be a dueling launched T-Rex/ Raptor coaster. It would knock out two birds with one stone! We need a dueling coaster and a new and innovative multi-launch coaster! Also, about your Polar Coaster comment, i doubt that Six Flags would ever add one at any of there parks. Six Flags wouldnt want to add a coaster like that at any of their parks. If they want to break the 500' barrier, they would do it another kind of way. Great Adventure wouldnt get one especially because Atlantic City which is around an hour and a half away is getting one in the near future.
  16. Correct me if im wrong but I believe Ka is a 90 degree drop, and Total Mayhem also has a below 90 degree drop. But I understand what you mean, a drop like Fahreinheit or Maverick's.
  17. this is really off topic but where did you get the second picture without the stadiums from. Google Earth on my phone still has Rolling Thunder on it :/
  18. The only logical location would be at Great Adventure. I doubt Six Flags would give out another RMC to a park that already has one, and i doubt they would give a prototype to a park like Six Flags America, La Ronde, Great Escape, or St Louis. If they gave a prototype to Great Adventure, they would get more of the GPs reaction as it is the second most visited park in the chain, and they currently do not have an RMC. So basically to sum it up, the chain would be - Giving GAdv an RMC -putting a prototype in an area that will draw in more guests than other parks (another logical reason) - Great Adventure has tons of areas that can be used to house this coaster. basically killing two birds with one stone
  19. Thats a good idea but im not sure the park would do that.. I mean they wouldnt do a name change really. If I were in charge I would just add some more theming and lights, and the ride is set! The queue has a crapload of theming, just more on ride theming would make the coaster even better!
  20. Do you guys think that the park could possibly open Plaza Del Carnival as 'Feliz Navidad' in 2016? I doubt this would happen but thoughts? Also i know that El Toro has trouble running in the Spring and Winter so im guessing it would be closed
  21. yeah, I agree that there really should be two bumper cars. I know that most parks/ piers usually have more than one bumper car attraction.
  22. I think everyone on here can agree that Old Country will indeed reopen as a new, refurbished, nice new area within the next 1-3 years. If it does in fact reopen, do you guys think it will have a new name or new theme to it? (Ex. Rename it and not reopen it as Old Country)
  23. they have not demolished the building, although i noticed that in one of my many visits to the park this year, they took the 'Autobahn' sign down sometime in the Summer or near Holiday in the Park.
  24. that could be a reason, and its very likely. But i think the main options why they demolished the chiller are -What Harry said with they had a deal with the contractor -The building was already in terrible shape and the better option was to just knock it down - The park has plans for the site of the Chiller building and the surrounding area and the first steps of the plan involved demolishing the Chiller Station AND THE MUSIK EXPRESS!!! - The park may have just wanted to demolish the building just to get the building out of the parks history while the contractors were there. - Also what JDC said, they wouldnt have to pay for the building anymore (electric, etc.)
