that spinning coaster seems to be terribly inefficient for capacity - I assume only 1 train?

If I understand your question correctly, your 2017 dining pass should work until the close of the season here at Great Adventure but since that is January 1 I don't think I follow your exactly.
I think last year it was open on Jan. 2 or even the 3rd when we went. Looks like Jan. 1 is the last day of HITP this year. So I assume I don't need a 2018 pass if I wanted to go on Jan. 1.

Last year we attended HITP after January 1, but I didn't have a season pass or dining program then. Will my 2017 pass work after January 1 if I go this year?

I remember years ago overhearing people saying they are not walking back to Midway America. Some people are too lazy to walk a whole park.
They get even lazier when the park has lots of up and down hills like Hershey and Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

I'd love to ride Cannibal.

Couldn't convince my wife to go to the park today....

I'm not sure it would garner enough business, especially since they can only be open Memorial to Labor Days, while Disney is open all year round and has so many hotel and rental units on their property.

GoDaddy was heavily into NASCAR and Indy sponsorship with drive Danica Patrick up until about 2 years ago, and now have vanished from the sport.

Sorry - it was supposed to be a joke. I saw this at the theater today and of course had to notice the coaster....
But for the sake of the thread, my vote goes to Intamin. Maybe I should have made this a poll.....
Ironically the prolific animator of the coaster just passed away last year:At a time when movie theaters pre-screening presentations are rife with previews, previews of previews, and an engorged miscellany of advertising that nearly rivals the actual feature’s length and scope, it’s easy to forget what used to be. Like the “Let’s All Go to the Lobby” musical number that played during intermission at Regal Cinemas throughout the ’50s. Or in the case of the late John McLaughlin, a visual-effects animator from Portland, Oregon, the “Regal Roller Coaster” policy trailer that played before all viewings throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. McLaughlin, who died at the age of 46, created the iconic sequence for the theater chain. No cause of death was provided in McLaughlin’s obituary in The Oregonian. However, according to what the short account told of his life, he was a “favorite conversationalist,” as well as an “avid moviegoer, obsessive reader and deep thinker.” After attending the Disney-created California Institute of the Arts (or CalArts) in Los Angeles, McLaughlin worked for LucasArts Entertainment, Tippet Studio, and DreamWorks Animation Studio. His resumé is impressive, though it’s his work on the “Regal Roller Coaster” trailer that made him the proudest:
John worked on such films as Shark Tale, Kung Fu Panda, Over the Hedge, Kung Fu Panda 2, Rise of the Guardians and most recently Kung Fu Panda 3. One of John’s favorite personal projects that he created was the Regal Cinemas preview trailer featuring a roller coaster in space speeding between soda, candy and popcorn that played before each and every movie.
The original version of the trailer above ran from the early ’90s until the fall of 2004, when Regal Cinemas discontinued its use and replaced it with other introductory materials. Six years later, the company revived the famous roller coaster ride with a brand new policy trailer. The audio and music tracks were almost identical, though the ride effects and visuals were mostly updated with modern CGI.

This was the original from the 1990s, before the upgrades:

Last time I was there was a sat in Aug last year so I figure it cant be any worse than that lol
and yes the crowds make no sense at all at the park. Comet can have an hour and half wait and lightning racers will be walk on
Does it have anything to do with how the traffic patterns are funneled at the front of the park?
I noticed when I get to GA at opening time, I can walk right on Nitro and Batman, whereas other parts of the park are already getting crowded.
-
I'm not sure I understand the poll question. Is one option that they left the old water rides in GA while also creating HH? Otherwise, why would they need two separate water parks in addition to the theme park?

It's a shame to hear GoDaddy is being so problematic. I can't believe how horribly some companies have been treating their customers lately (I could write a whole essay on how bad Verizon was this past 6 weeks and add in another part about Best Buy).
I did not like GoDaddy's service many years ago when I hosted a band page on their network.

I always try to check out what is down on the ground when on Nitros lift lol
Is that the "graveyard"?

Is there any chance you would be able to allow us to click on more year park maps to view them in detail?
-
So Freefall was behind Metro Grill? I keep wondering that every time I visit this year, and can see some remnants of steel supports back there.
-
Look on the bright side - you knew how to change the starter, which no doubt saved you hundreds more in expenses!

I think there have been some rides that never got a proper sendoff, because they were closed for repairs or retrofits, but then never reopened.
-
Do they use the old Chiller dome building for anything now?

I'm getting tired of the superhero themes to be honest
Ironically I was talking to my daughter about the fact that The Joker seemed out of place, considering most of the superhero rides are in Movie Town. But she reminded me that Green Lantern and Superman are not in Movie Town either. And, I guess, technically Bizarro too.

Agreed. I cant think of any I would remove.
I enjoy the current coaster selection. It would be even better if we had an additional coaster like Rolling Thunder with its smaller height requirement.
Speaking of which, on my last visit I saw just inside the front gate, a poster in the window of the store. The poster showed an aerial view of Rolling Thunder, still in operation, and also what seemed like El Toro completely constructed. I assume the coasters were never simultaneously in service. It would have been cool to keep RT and have both today.
On edit - I didn't realize El Toro went into operation way back in 2006, and RT was there until 2013. So why did they get rid of RT?

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. That's fantastic. I had a similar experience with the lockers. It wasn't bad but it would have been better if I had my wife with me to hold things. But then I would have had to carry the bag around the park.
I'm disappointed that the video is 15 bucks. I'm pretty cheep too although I might do it once just for the fun of it. At the very least I might get one video of the kids riding.
Check the quality of the video first. If the coaster is going away from the sun, you can't see the riders very well. I'm also not sure how well it comes out at night. We rode it just before dusk and the quality was decent.

The parachutes have a weight limit of I think 350 pounds, there is also a minimum weight possibly 150 pounds?
I did see some extra weights on the ground that they must add to meet minimum.

Absolutely as long as there aren't many kinks to be worked out. Seems silly to wait in long lines to order the food. The kiosk system at Wawa works great for ordering food.
