As soon as the deal closes, they will be on the phone with Zamperla ordering Kingda Ka 2.

I believe there's a quote from Thrillathon where management states they're not planning on conversion or removal of Ka for the next decade at least, so no 500 foot spike just yet.

This entire ordeal feels like a fever dream. Six Flags and Cedar Fair merging sounds like some 13 year old enthusiast daydream, not the actual future of both companies. I think ultimately GAdv will be a park that wins under CF style management, but I fear for the mid tier parks of both chains

Back to back additions like that is part of the reason Six Flags originally went bankrupt. I don't see the chain investing that much into any one park in a two year window ever again. Times were simply different back then.

Not that I disagree, but if this truly was a last minute addition for 24 then next year *might* be something already forecasted out. I wouldn't for a second bet on anything coming next year at all even, but there's been a lot of buzz about the arena removal and it's hard to tell smoke from fire.

  3. I think if this coaster is going over the front entrance, then it's probably crossing to the area where the go-karts are now, and I'd probably expect those to be removed as a result. I can't see it jumping to the Parachutes/Twister site as some have speculated, that's just far too busy of a walkway for Six Flags to reasonably send track over.

The Cotaland Vekoma Tilt is a really interesting rumor, but I can't see where that layout would fit over or near the entrance skyline much. Definitely fits the "Look Down" teaser we got, though!

  4. I'm 100% aware that a Giga or another massive investment like that is not something that Six Flags would do in this day and age. But I'm still puzzled how all these teasers fit together for next year's additions in a way that's not a sizable cash drop. At minimum I think we can expect the Log Flume overhaul, possible Big Wheel restoration and custom brick engraving for the 50th. I would consider that a solid year by Six Flags standards, but then these other teasers and construction markers point to something else too? Assuming that this most recent teaser points toward an addition to the entrance skyline, the new ride in Old Country is something of pretty big size.

  5. I will make a nice steak out of my shoes and eat them if this " leak " ends up being true. So much enthusiast bait in one post between the fabled GAdv Giga and RMC Rolling Thunder. Also, if staffing remains an issue, how are they going to open several new rides, dining options, and shows in one year?

I still just expect a redone entrance plaza and maybe a new ride in Old Country.

Is there still a Fright Fest maze under the Log Flume? I know that used to cause it to close for the season around Labor Day.

All the props were still there and set up when I went the second week of August, so I'm guessing it'll be around this Fright Fest.

  7. The entire park just needs some consistent pathways. You can basically map out the park's history management wise by what concrete is where and what condition it is. Metropolis looks brand new, Golden Kingdom and Plaza are in alright shape, Boardwalk and Frontier are in bad shape, and Adventure Alley is absolutely horrible.

Based on weather closures and SFGAm adding HiTP, I wouldn't be shocked if the highest attendance for 2018 was SFMM, SFGAm, and then SFGAdv.  It will be interesting to see how close Mexico gets to the 3 million visitors mark in coming years.  They have expanded their operating schedule for Q1 of 2019 and are working towards operating 365 days a year in future seasons.

And it'll only get worse next year, as Maxx Force will almost certainly draw more crowds than Wonder Woman. GAdv has such a big market to tap into, being dead center of both NYC and Philly, but corporate refuses to make the changes that'll bring in crowds.

I don't know if crowds have been like this often, but they should really consider opening the rest of the park up to deal with these lines.

HitP is only really that busy during the week break between Christmas and New Year, when everyone is off work and school. Considering how the park is not very full the other 95% of the time, i'm not sure it'd be worth it from the park's perspective to staff and maintain another large section of the park when it'd sit almost completely empty during the rest of the event. Plus, I'm pretty sure Toro is very temperamental in the cold, Ka is notoriously unstable even in optimal conditions, and Zu would not be fun that high up in the cold. 3/4 major rides closed, leaving a very empty area of the park.

When Carowind’s moved their Skycoaster, It tripled it’s profits. So moving it might not hurt (Even though I am against pay rides in general)

The Skycoaster couldn't be in a better spot right now. You have to pass by it to get to to the left half of the park, bringing in a ton of foot traffic, and the ride can be seen from pretty much all around. It's even one of the major things you pass by on the Skyride.

The Cirque show sounds like it will be cool.

I also like how they are promoting more rides will be open. It's nice almost all the major rides are open compared to holiday events at other parks where only a handful of rides are running or only a few coasters.

What else is open from last year? The only difference I can spot is that the Parachute Tower won't be lit up this year and actually plans on running.

Your addition shows were the flames were, but in the report, it looked fine without the effect (just like most of the loops tbh)

The deal with the flames is that a while back, it was rumored that Six Flags was taking it out after it closed with the rest of Plaza Del Carnival during HitP. Apparently, the state doesn't like the joystick operating cycle on the ride (where the oeprator controls the train with a joystick), and Six Flags plans on taking it out, either for good or to replace it with a newer model. Themeing coming off the ride is usually a good indicator that a ride is on it's way out.

Then Kings Dominion and Bush Gardens Williamsburg would be at direct competition, but if Six Flags takes over, San Antonio and Fiesta Texas (and Sesame Place and Great Adventure) would probably not be able to coexist. However, the former would more likely end better than Geauga Lake (but it would still be a 50/50 chance)

Great Adventure would be fine, Sesame Place has a completely different demographic than GA. San Antonio and Fiesta Texas, however, would almost certainly be competing with each other, which isn't exactly what you want for two sister parks.

I'm torn on this deal. On one hand, I feel like Seaworld could use a stable owner, and SF could use the extra revenue from the Orlando and San Diego parks. On the other, I don't trust SF to keep Busch Garden's and Seaworld's identities intact, and I wouldn't want them to become "generic amusement park #1231423".
