  1. I think that massive rides package and War on Lines 2 was a BS made-up thing because the guy was upset at a park employee over something stupid. I highly doubt we see anything even remotely close to that happen again, but it would not surprise me if we do see some development by the Arena fairly soon for a project in the near future. That is prime space that should be used to start filtering more guests to the back of the park with a solid new ride package.
  2. I've been really happy with Great Adventure's repaints in recent years. I feel like it has really freshened up some older looking rides and given a little life to some more depressing parts of the park. If I had two to choose, I'd probably choose Nitro and the Runaway Mine Train, but as long as the park does something, I don't think I would really complain. A full Kingda Ka repaint would also be an awesome addition for next year.
  3. So right now we can assume the following for Great Adventure's 50th: First new-gen extreme Vekoma in the US with the Super Boomerang Redone lights package for the Wheel Redone Log Flume in some capacity More than likely a couple other smaller changes I don't know about you guys, but I would be really quite happy with this for the celebration. A brand new thrilling roller coaster as well as two well-deserved revamps to two classic Great Adventure rides. This should be an absolute win for next year.
  4. As much as Joker has an advertised 720 riders per hour, I feel like that is much closer to what the number actually is than the super boomerang. The super boomerang seems way overinflated.
  5. So apparently this thing says that the hourly capacity is 800/hour. I did the math and with 24 riders per train, assuming every train is full, this thing is sending out 33 cycles per hour. That is flat-out never going to happen. That seems like a best case scenario with two train operations on a turn table loading platform. That means also they intend on sending out a new train every 1.8 minutes, or 1 minute and 48 seconds. I just timed this thing at a 1 minute and 12-second ride cycle from the start of the first launch to stopping on the brake run. That is not including any time for platform movement, riders boarding or leaving the train, etc. Knowing Six Flags, the operations are probably going to suck, but lets be optimistic and say they send a new train out every 1 minute and 30 seconds after arriving in the station Thats saying, a reasonable best case scenario, a train can only be sent out every 2 minutes and 45 seconds, assuming they are not having any kind of turn table loading system. Which would mean a more realistic capacity of 22 ride cycles per hour. Multiply that by 24 and you get an actual hourly capacity of 528 riders per hour. There is no way that can possibly be realistic for a park as big as Great Adventure. Unless they are building two of these and paying homage to the Chiller, this thing is going to easily consistently have the most painful wait in the park.
  6. The numbers basically match up perfectly with the super boomerang stats. Absolutely would be a welcome addition in my books, but the capacity on this thing is going to be horrific unless they can find a way to separate the loading station from the main ride track. One of those turntable - style loading stations I feel like would be great for this type of attraction to get 2 trains on the track instead of one.
  7. That's an interesting hint. I am maybe thinking that instead of looking at those as numbers, maybe they are supposed to be words. For 50(th anniversary) for 8(?) fifteenth (coaster) two for ten for thirty six? Maybe this is a name hint. I am looking at the 10 and 36 and maybe those have to do with Great American Scream Machine being removed in 2010 during the park's 36th year of being open. Maybe the new coaster will once again be called the Great American Scream Machine. A great name that I would love to see return to the park for a new coaster.
  8. Also, just some general (not really) new info, but Screamscape finally gave a GAdv update in his 8/8 post. https://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_adventure.htm The only really notable quote is this Not really saying much, but it is nice to hear that more than likely GAdv at least will not be getting a kiddie coaster.
  9. These all feel like completely different situations, though. Ka was two years after and 10 hours away, targeting a completely different market in the country. The OG Raptors were insanely far apart with one being in Texas and one in Cali, so that doesn't really matter all that much either. Those are also way more unique rides than dives. It's not like the coasters you mentioned were all competing in the exact same markets to draw crowds in. Two of virtually the same coaster in the same market is bad business for both parks no matter what way you slice it, even if GAdv's is way better. The GP that is closer to Dorney won't care, they will just go to Dorney still.
  10. A new ride is supposed to be a crowd draw. If both parks are getting the same addition, Dorney and Great Adventure will basically both be in the same spot they started in with neither ride accomplishing the goal they set out to do. Most locals will visit one park or the other and won't see the need to visit both parks to ride both of the new attractions if they are virtually the same experience.
  11. I guess before SFGAdv starts dropping hints sometime soon (which I assume they will do), what would be everyone's dream addition to the park and what do you realistically think we will add to the park? My dream addition would be a Mack Xtreme Spinner. It fills so many gaps in our coaster lineup, and considering how successful the other two have been, I'd love to get one here. 99% sure these are way too expensive and way out of the Six Flags budget, unfortunately haha. Realistically, I think East Coast Racers is going to come here. I really would have no complaints about this addition. Another launch coaster would be great for the park, especially one on the tamer side to be a crowd pleaser. We still don't have our new dueling coaster either, so I think this would just be all around solid.
  12. I would definitely not put it past Six Flags to do this, but I don’t think so. Given how unreliable Six Flags is with construction dates and starting projects on time, I highly doubt if Kid Flash was all we were getting, foundational work would already be being done. It honestly probably wouldn’t start until December or so if that was it.
  13. Don't know if anyone else is having issues but I am not able to see the images. Either way, I also don't think it's that much of a stretch. It would be a tight, tight fit. But I think it could work. Twix ride would definitely have to go, though, not that it was very popular anyways.
