warnerleroy
Ok, the other night I wa thinking why can't Six flags have great theming like Busch Gardens. Then i came up with an amazing concept GOTHAM CITY! Now, everybody has beenspeculating Movietown will be turned into Gotham City, but this is different. My Gotham City is not just Movietown but also Old Country and the sptly named "Nitroland'. First there will be three "portals" to gotham city like the ones at Magic Mountain. Then, the first ride to be revamped would be Congo rapids as Penguins Artic River. As you may know, Kentucky Kingdom's rapids were themed to the Penguin, so since the park is closed, the theming could be sent to our park to give Congo Rapids a "bizzaro" style makeover with a new quenue and the theming. Then, also give Nitro a bizzaro-makeover as Escape from Arkham were all the villiams try to escape from Arkham asylum and the quenue would consist of a mirror maze constrcuted by the Joker to deter visitors. Then, the area behind stunt arena would be home to a new splashwater ride called Gotham Seaport were there would be actual boats docked in the water in addition to the ride. The arcade would become Gotham Gaming Hall, themed to an illegal casino, and Dark Knight and BAtman the ride would be kept the same, except Dark Knight would get it's skyline, but HBO Backlot would become a new food area called "West End" and the Stunt Arena would be home to a new stunt show. Now, heres my favorite part, were freefall was add a variety of flats themed to the Gotham villians. first, a Zamperla Vertical swing(about 60ft tall) called Crime Wave, a Zamperla Demolition Derby called Gotham Police Headquarters with the entrance dressed as a facade as such, a Zamperla Disk'o called Two-Face Flip Side, a Zamperla inverter called Riddlers Revenge, and a Zamperla Windshere called Jokers Jinx and one of those new Zamperla airplane rides that will be at coney island, but theme it to Gotham Airport and complete the theme with the plane from Right Stuff's qunue. Turn the Autobahn into a ride called Crime chase with the cars painted as cop cars, cabs, and batmobiles and turn Music Express into Catwoman's catwhip with a stutette of her in the middle and the ride's canvas repaire dand painted black and grey. All of the ffod stands in old cOuntry would be themed to new stands, diners, or hotdog carts. The blank sides of Dark Knight would be turned into facades for a courthouse, and city hall, and Chiller's old Station would be turned into a building for Wayne Industries. In the area around Chilelr's attion would be Gotham Park, a beautiful, yet vandalized, city park. Around the area, add cop cars and taxi cabs and street signs and billboards to authenticate the area and add few subway station entrances. Also use the old truck from Right Stuff and fire truck visibel from Nitro as scenery. The showcase theatre be a show venue aceesable from inside and outside the park, but it would be masked by a facade of Wayne Manor. What do you think? pashacar
I love this, and so many of the little details. Really well thought out names and themes, it's a shame we'll never see a section with theming of this caliber at Great Adventure.
The Master
SFMM has a Gotham Ctiy themed section that's pretty well done.
scipiomask
I actually really like Movietown. I'd rather them revamp it than replace it with Gotham City, which many Six Flags parks have. We and Magic Mountain are the only ones to have a "Movietown"-type area.
DiveMachine
I was actuallt at SFMM and they don't have a MovieTown area. They have "Gotham City Backlot". SFNE has a superhero-type section, but I think that is about it.
CoasterPrince
I want to keep the MovieTown theme too because we are the only park that has it. It's good to be different.
RobertDavid
I think each park should have it's own unique theming. The last thing we need is another "Gotham". Unfortunately, Movietown is not much of a theme. I'd like to see the area get a real theme that does not involve superheroes, there's enough of those already. mrceagle
Many of us closer to SFNE have toyed with this same idea. It is a nice concept and well thought out. I personally woudl prefer to see Movie town stay and get a solid rehab. it has history both regionally and at the park.

Yeah, Movietown was great when it started, but it's only gotten worse from then. I would also love to see a revitalize dmovietown, but i like this idea better, plus if management will do anything with the area, then it will probably be Gotham City

I'd like to see it become part of a thoroughly refurbished Old Country... something along the lines of BGW or Hershey's Tudor Square... scipiomask
I was actuallt at SFMM and they don't have a MovieTown area. They have "Gotham City Backlot". SFNE has a superhero-type section, but I think that is about it. They also have a Movie District section, w/ Riddler's Revenge and some flats. I think what we need in Movietown is a movie-themed ride that ISN'T superhero related, like a Terminator-themed Freefall tower perhaps. mrceagle
It's hard to say what coarse would be taken. It woudl be cheap and easy to re-brand the area to Gotham City. But An expansion? not as likely. Yes there is room since part of Movie town is shut down. and with the placement of Dark Night havign both a Movie town and a Gotham area is possible but hard to work with. warnerleroy
For all of those who want to revitalize Movietown.. I know the last thing our park needs is another coaster, but what if the showcase theatre was turned into an airconditioned queneue for a DIVE COASTER called Stuntman's Freefal:2. The indoor quenue would show films of great acheivments of stuntmen while the actual ride are was themed to a movie set?

Great Adventure is the only theme park I know that does not have a live stage show ( not animals, but people ). If they are serious about attracting adults, they need entertainment. mrceagle
I think a show woudl be a good move. Given the movie theme a stunt should should have never left. maybe dump the Superhero theme and go with more of a Lights, Motor, action style were the stunts lead up to a final product.
