29yrswithaGApass
Last week I had the extreme pleasure of taking the Maiden Voyage of the new Disney Fantasy cruise ship. The ship was beautiful and 40% larger than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The whole thing was top notch- entertainment, food, crew, etc. It was also cool to see so many Disney executives and several celebrities onboard. I took hundreds of photos but for now here are a few samples.

29yrswithaGApass
How was the Aquaduck!?! And which restaurant was your favorite? The Aquaduck would be a really fun ride on land but given the fact that it extends over the side of the ship (over 15 decks up) and is a true water coaster makes it really cool! The food was incredible on this ship. I've been on a diet and managed to come ashore with just one extra pound, but it was hard to do. They had every type of food available and all the restaurants were wonderful. Animator's Palate was especially fun. You dine two nights in each restaurant and in this one the first night uses the "Turtle Talk" technology found in the seas pavilion at Epcot to interact with the diners. The second night there is really cool because they give you a placemat which is like an animator's drawing table. You have to sketch a figure within the outline borders on the placemat. They then collect them and during your meal your characters appear in animated dance sequences and within various Disney classics like dancing with Snow White or swimming under the seas with the Little Mermaid. They change your 2D character electronically to 3D. This is the latest generation of Animator's Palate and exceeds the technology on their other ships. At the end they give you your placemat back with an official Disney Animator's seal on it. I was really surprised to see the use of so many of Disney's less popular and not as well known classics mixed in here like Treasure Planet and Home on the Range, as well as new stuff like Brave.
