gasmspiritblue
Didn't one of the towers catch on fire, or that was a rumor? Edited April 4, 2013 by gasmspiritblue
29yrswithaGApass
One of the Fort's towers did catch fire but ironically that happened when the fireworks were being shot off from the Great Lake. There was minimal damage.

29yrswithaGApass
Back when they had fireworks at the Fort, the Runaway was one of "the" rides to ride at night. About 15 minutes prior to showtime management use to call the Runaway Train and tell them to stop running the ride. It was always a challenge to get on the ride before that phone rang. Also, the ride opeartors would stop loading the Skyride cars but they would not remove the cars from the cables. Once all the cars were vacated they would simply stop the cable and the cars would hang empty until the show was over. You can see the cars in this photo:
batmanrobinchiller
Oh wow. That must have been very exciting for both the riders and the employees!
