Interesting photo to use for press, since it shows a car with a vinyl top, with its windows open and someone leaning out the window! All things that were not allowed in the Safari, even back then.

Actually alot of cars with vinyl tops went through the Safari everyday back then. When they got to the baboon section, there was a side road that took them out without going into the baboon section itself. Windows were allowed to be down in the heat of summer in non predator sections because so many cars would vaporlock and tie up Wardens trying to get them going again. We did keep an eye on the people hanging out, but nowdays people are more likely to sue for anything and everything so I understand why the rules are so strick nowdays.
