  1. In 2012 I will definitely be going to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Sea World Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa. I'm going to try and get to Dollywood and Six Flags Over Georgia again, and hopefully finally make it to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I'm also going to try and go to Great Adventure in 2012, being I never got there in 2011....first time in my life I didn't go. -Dainan

  5. I highly doubt SF will repurchase Chiller. I wonder who would buy it if anyone decides to. Chiller doesn't really have the best track record -Dainan

  9. French Fries Grilled chicken or fried chicken?
  10. Rode Manta with GAcoaster tonight at twilight! It was beautiful out and the ride was fantastic! ....and it was a walk on
  11. You kids need to get out more if you really think Roar and Rolling Thunder are the roughest coasters out there . I've had some pretty smooth rides on Rolling Thunder, but hey. I used to be the Lead there and rode it every morning. So I knew where the good seats were I personally feel like the roughest coaster I've ever been on was Son of Beast at King's Island. Absolutely dreadful. Following behind it is; -Mean Streak, Cedar Point -Hercules, Dorney Park -Viper, Six Flags Great Adventure -Ninja, Six Flags Over Georgia -Mind Eraser, Six Flags America -Space Mountain, Disneyland Paris -Dainan
  12. I somewhat agree with this, but not entirely. Viper was a really bad coaster. But Ultra Twisters aren't that bad. When I was in Japan back in 2006, I rode a bunch of Togo coasters, and I only experienced one bad one. It was Zola-7 at Fujikyu Highlands. ___________________________________ I have a soft spot for Schwarzkopf and Arrow coasters. But I do like B&M Inverts. For the most part, I feel Intamin and B&M are over rated. Also prefer Wood over Steel. -Dainan
  13. I did it first . The photos came out great! I especially love this photo of the Headless Horseman -Dainan
  14. Happy Birthday Up_Up_And_Away =) and MarioSonic
  15. Sorry for the lack of posting. I've been busy with work and life in general. Anyway, here's the PTR from Wild Adventures Wild Adventures July 13th, 2011 We woke up the next morning and left our luxurious Travelodge in Macon, GA and headed south. Joy's cracking up because Jackie got pulled over for speeding AGAIN within 12 hours. Good job! A few hours later we wound up in Wild Adventures...to an empty parking lot. We had a good experience here last year, so we were anticipating a good day. Wild Adventures even put another sign in the park to remind us where we were. This is basically what the entire park looked like our entire visit. It was 110F in Voldosta, GA that day. First coaster was a Vekoma Roller Skater. Sigh....we saw this A LOT today. Wild Mouse Jr SLC....that sends you around twice. This is the only park I've ever been to that had an Australian section....with a Vekoma Boomerang. Boomerang....yup, nothing amazing. Being it was way too hot, we decided to make our rounds quickly Cheetah was running really well. We'll come back later. Oh boy, Hangman Great, it's another Vekoma SLC. Last year it wasn't too bad. Not too great either. I was so excited to ride another Vekoma. Jackie's excited. Joy has no idea what she's getting herself into. That about sums it up. It was not at all enjoyable. Being it was so fricken hot, we decided to rush to the water park. Yup.... The Lazy River was closed and the rest of the water park was unimpressive. Ooh, they gave us "Adventure Money" for our Locker refund. Holla! Random flat ride I skipped out on Fiesta Express The girls rode however. Joy wanted the credit. I already had it. Jackie rode it again because she's a whore Viking Voyage was closed. We rode it last year...it was quite terrible. We spent a good portion of our day re riding Cheetah. We were happy to be riding Cheetah. We were not happy about there slow as molasses dispatch timing and the fact that you have to walk around through the queue in order to reride...even though there was NO ONE THERE! I don't think I would have minded so much except for the fact it was so flippin hot. Cheetah isn't that easy to get pictures of. It does have some great air time, and it's really smooth.... surprisingly being it has Gerstlauer Firecracker must be the shortest S&S space shot ever. Boomerang from across the lake. They had some decent flyers. Ah yes, Wild Adventures does have animals. There is something to be said about a park that has a T-Shirt for their Vekoma Boomerang. On our way out we saw the Wild Adventure's Kennel. We were curious as to why you would need a lock and key. It was quite miserable on the inside. This is the road they make you drive on to leave. The nice dirt road gives us a great view of Hangman....thanks Wild Adventures. We got to take dirt roads on our way back to the highway. This park is basically in the middle of nowhere. We'll end this Trip Report with this photo of the best Stop sign ever in Voldosta, GA. Thanks for reading. -Dainan
  16. Six Flags Over Georgia July 12th, 2011 It was nice to see a Six Flags park that still uses their parking lot trams. Batman the Ride as seen from the parking lot. From the parking lot you also get some good views of my favorite steel roller coaster in the world, Mindbender. =) I love the entrance to this park. I love how Goliath runs along the outside of the park. Our first ride of the day was Georgia Scorcher. I'm not a fan of Stand-Up coasters, but I actually enjoy this one. Six Flags Over Georgia has many moments where you look around and say, "We're at a Six Flags park still?" We headed over to Gotham City next YES YES YES! I couldn't wait to ride this ride again. When we got into the station they announced that they were closed for weather, as was every other coaster in the park....except for Batman. WTF!? Not happy about this being down. We did end up coming back later and riding it 7 times, so don't feel too bad We got fed up with waiting for the "weather" to clear up so we went over to Batman. Seriously, I don't understand why SFOG closed their coasters in just a chance of rain and not even lightning!? And why is Batman the only one open? Classic story. We got into the station at Batman and then they announced they were closing due to weather as well. Yup, now the ENTIRE park was down. We waited in Batman for 2 hours for the "storm" clear. I will admit that even though it didn't rain, there was thunder in the distance for a little bit. We waited in this sweat box with no AC the entire downtime. We did eventually end up riding, and then immediately went over to Mindbender. We then headed over to the brand new Gerstlauer Euro Fighter, Dare Devil Dive Jackie and I shared our 250th credit on Dare Devil Dive. I liked that it had lapbars, but was very underwhelmed by the attraction. Next up was Goliath. It was running much better than my last visit. But in SFOG style, it closed while we were in the station and decided to just come back later. The ride did go down for 15 minutes because.... ....this crazy lady in the back had a ADA pass and refused to get off the ride and caused a whole seen! Then the lightning flashed and they ended up having to cycle out and no one got to ride. I blame her. We watched when security came and took her away. Everyone cheered While all the coasters were down again we did Monster Mansion. It's such a ridiculous dark ride. I adore it. The sun did come out and everything did reopen so we continued through the park. There is an evil and thy name is Ninja. Jackie and Joy with the awesome Ninja sign. It's truly the best part of the ride The real reason we wanted to ride it was for SFGAv's blue GASM train that's now on the tracks. But as you see it wasn't on, so we got stuck riding in the terrible Vekoma train. Seriously, this coaster has to be the worst coaster ever. I love Arrow loopers and I can tolerate some Vekoma and Togo coasters. But this coaster is just god awful. Great American Scream Machine does have a bit of a soft spot in my heart as it is a William Cobb coaster. Sadly this ride is too rough to enjoy if you're on a wheel seat. I prefer Rolling Thunder to this honestly. It was well over 100F, so Skull Island was quite popular today. Superman gave us the worst experience ever! The ops didn't check our restraints and when we tried to get there attention they ignored us till the last minute and said we were fine and sent us. Our vests didn't lock either. Joy was so mad, she punched a wall. The girls wanted to go take a ride on the Hansons.... They were content. At the top of the hill is the beautiful Riverview Carousel from Riverview Park in Chicago, IL. Joy is from Chicago and her high school is actually across from the former site of Riverview Park. Beautiful. My horse's name was Rebel. I know a certain member on the boards that will like the name of this ride "Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon" After multiple attempts, I finally saw Acrophobia open! It was one of the best drop towers I have ever been on! And much more comfortable than I expected. Great success! Pfft, Georgia Sigh-Clone. Too rough, no where near as good as the original "Seriously? We're still at Six Flags right?" Dahlonega Mine Train is a nice little ride. I forgot just how rough this one was. Any park that still has their Cables is alright by me. Joy and I enjoying our Sky Bucket. Jackie enjoying the Sky Bucket as well Goliath as seen from the Sky Buckets We did go back to Ninja solely because they brought on the blue GASM train. And surprisingly it tracked very well and didn't kill us. It was actually pleasant. True story, Jackie and I met when she was the team lead at Scream Machine at Great Adventure. So GASM holds a very special place in our little hearts. So we were very excited. In fact this picture was our last ride together on it. And it was the blue train. We ended our night marathoning on Mindbender. It's a Schwarzkopf master piece that just can't be beat. After leaving SFOG, we drove down south and tried to find a cheap motel on the side of I75 that wouldn't kill us. So we found a Travelodge in Macon, GA. The girls getting ready to crash after a long day. Overall, we had a pretty mediocre day. Probably because we were spoiled with the amazingness that is Dollywood. We did have a really rough first four hours, but the day did get better. Next update, Wild Adventures. -Dainan
  17. The weekend of July 9th - July 13th, my best friend Jackie, cousin Joy and I did a trip up the Chattanooga, TN to visit some family. During our stay we hit up Dollywood, Six Flags Over Georgia and Wild Adventures. We also did some site seeing in Chattanooga. These photos are all from my cell phone, so the quality isn't so great. Dollywood July 10th, 2011 After hours of driving we made it to Dollywood. Our first stop was Thunderhead. My best friend Jackie (left) and my cousin Joy (right) waiting for Thunderhead. Me waiting to ride. I must say this is easily one of my favorite coasters anywhere. I'll have more pictures of Thunderhead later. Next up we did Mystery Mine. It has some decent theming, but overall I'm not impressed. Blazing Fury is an in-house made dark ride/coaster, and it's pretty bizarre. FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!! Dollywood has a pretty neat Eagle exhibit. This is my only photo from Daredevil Falls. It was a pretty decent flume. New for 2011 is the Barnstormer It may be the best themed Screamin Swing I've ever seen. Well....I tried to get a good shot. Mountain Slidewinder was closed on our last visit. So we were excited to ride it. It's basically a toboggan on a water slide. It's one of the scariest rides I've ever done. From the line of Slidewinder you get really close to some footers for next year's new B&M coaster. insert caption here The Dollywood Express is a beautiful train. This man was doing "magic tricks" while we were waiting for the train to be fully loaded. Dollywood has many "Wow! This park is gorgeous!" moments. The train does take you up into the Smokeys B&M track and supports As we were nearing the end. Our train came to an abrupt halt. We sat there for a few minutes while the engineers on board fixed the problem. When we printed our tickets online, it came with a free meal voucher to this place. It was worth it and very yummy. Of course we had to visit Dolly's home. Of course Joy wanted to get the kiddie credit and Jackie was happy to go with her. Family Portrait Time Joy Jackie Me Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Is a show about the history of the Smokeys The set was incredible for this show. Tennessee Tornado is easily the best Arrow looping coaster out there. We ended up riding about 7 times. The girls loved it. I'm excited to be riding an Arrow looper again, just hesitant about the rain. Adventure Mountain I skipped last year but did this year. Adventure Mountain is a ropes course and I a have a fear of heights and absolutely HATE these. But I force myself to do it and I actually had fun. We ended our night marathoning on Thunderhead until they kicked us off. We'll end this little update with a beautiful Tennessee sunset. Next update, Chattanogga, TN. -Dainan
