Amazing photos as always!
I can't wait to see what they'll put in the old Chiller station's spot next year. Does anyone else think that they'll end up removing the observatory/Xploratorium as well? I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Let me preface this by saying that I took a LOT of photos. Almost 90 to be exact. So instead of posting them all here, I'll just provide a link to the album on imgur at the end of my trip report.
My mother and I got to the park the earliest we ever have, a little after 9AM when the gates to the park weren't even open yet. When we did enter the park about an hour later, there were already two major improvements from last season: they changed the season pass processing so that people can get their cards as soon right after they through the gates, which was awesome, AND they didn't rope off the sections of the park before 10:30 and let guests walk up to the rides they want to, which for me was Kingda Ka. My mother and I only waited no more than 20 minutes to get a ride on Ka (three trains running), then we immediately went over to El Toro. Toro had 2 trains running and was basically a walk on, so we got to ride twice in a row! Then we head over to El DIablo, which my mother never got to ride last season, and we were able to ride it twice in a row since there was barely a line at all. Zumanjaro was closed early in the day, so we couldn't get around to that (yet).
We ate lunch at Mama Flora's next to the Big Wheel, but I immediately regretted doing so because that weekend was Food Truck Weekend. I originally thought it would just be one or two of them, but it turned out to be many more, each with their own unique foodstuffs. All of the trucks were also placed near where Old Country used to be and speaking from experience, that area hasn't been that lively in literally YEARS (aside from Fright Fest)! Let's hope there will be more new things placed in that area in the future!
Anyway, we also went on the Big Wheel, the Dark Knight and Batman while we were in the area, each with waiting times no longer than 20-25 minutes. We also went on Swashbuckler and I went on the newly named Harley Quinn's Crazy Train by myself (which still has the Blackbeard sign). While there, I noticed the new drink stations like the Skybar, and since we both love the Coke Freestyle machines, we went by there more than once. I just hope that in the future, they will have more Freestyle machines in other areas of the park, not just near the Big Wheel.
After that, we went on the Safari and I took a TON of photos during that, including some of the new lion, tiger and bear cubs that were born only months ago. After that I went on Bizarro twice in a row then we took the Skyride back to the other side of the park. My mother was done for the day, but I went on Green Lantern than Zumanjaro three times in a row! I actually got on line right as Zumanjaro was testing, so I was able to ride with almost no one else. Actually, the 2nd time I was all by myself! Definatley the perfect way to end the day!

It only took almost a decade, but Chiller's station is finally gone, yet the observatory still remains. I'm going to wager they have something planned for that area in 2017, hence why the old queue is still there. Who knows, maybe a new addition to the old station's footprint is exactly what we need to finally re-open the Old Country area year-round. Opening that walkway for Holiday in the Park was a step in the right direction, so let's hope that more will come out of it.
I'm also really loving the whole makeover that Blackbeard is getting. On the one hand, there's going to be one less "pirate themed" ride in that area, but on the other hand, Harley Quinn is one of my favorite characters from Batman's rogues gallery and she gets to be right next to her "puddin' ". I can't wait to see what the new trains look like, but it's a bit sad once you realize that we'll never see that Blackbeard sign in that one picture ever again. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, I guess.

Holy crud, that's some amazing progress! I haven't been paying much attention to this whole thing since the announcement of the new name, but I didn't expect it to be halfway done by now.
Remember when a new year's flagship attraction was operational by opening day instead of Memorial weekend? These pictures kind of gave me false hope for something like that

Good lord! What an improvement! That brings us to, what, 5 coasters based on DC characters now? Not that I'm complaining, far from it actually. This is a very welcome improvement from the name and "theme" of Total Mayhem. I', also surprised that they have (at least some) of the track already painted green and purple. Now I'm even more excited for this new ride!

Report: The first day of Fright Fest 2015 couldn't have been better. The weather was perfect, the crowds weren't too bad until around 6PM, and I was able to do exactly everything I wanted to do at the park. The first thing off my checklist was finally riding El Diablo, which was closed the last time I went to the park. Not only was I able to ride it twice in a row, I was the only person on the train both times! After that, I was able to ride El Toro 4 consecutive times in the back car, due to it only having a line in the main building with two trains operating. Then I met up with my mother and we were both able to ride The Dark Knight and Nitro twice in a row (including my 50th ride on that particular coaster!) At around 1PM, we briefly left the park to get some lunch and immediately went to Kingda Ka, which had 3 trains running but was a longer wait than usual because of technical difficulty.
After a quick ride on Twister, we went to the Bone Butcher Territory (AKA Frontier Adventures) only to find that Bizarro was broken down due to technical difficulty, but we were able to catch a cute 20-minute show in the area called "Bad Bob the Bone Butcher", so it was all good. By that point my mother was finished for the day and I decided to get a quick bite to eat. After that, I high-tailed it to the Dead Man's Party stage to catch the Awakening and the first live show of the year, which didn't disappoint. After that, I was able to catch Hypnosteria, was was entertaining and hilarious. By that point it had gotten dark outside so I decided to go on the terror walk "Asylum" in Chiller's old backlot, which was about a 20 minute wait. Then I just decided to end the day by riding my favorite flat ride, Swashbuckler, and a quickie on Bizarro (3 trains)
Overall, it was a very entertaining day in spite of some crowds. 5 out of 6 FlagsI'll post my pictures shortly...

My mother and I entered the park around 10:30 and went straight to Wicked Cyclone. I immediately fell in love with all the theming elements they put in, everything from the plane in the queue to the station filled with newspapers were just perfect. The ride itself was very fun in my opinion (9 out of 10), so much so that I decided to go on a second time, both of which were 5 minutes or less of waiting with two trains running. After that, we immediately hit up the NE SkyScreamer and Pandemonium, each with less than 20 minute waits. Unfortunately, Goliath is still closed due to ongoing technical difficulties, which meant a short ride on the Scrambler for us instead. After some lunch outside of the park, we went straight to Batman: The Dark Knight, which I wasn't able to go on during my previous visit along with Mind Eraser which was next up. Dark Knight was fun, but felt like it was over so quickly, so it gets an 8 out of 10 in my book.Next up was Bizarro, and I'm still jealous that you guys got to keep your sound system while the Bizarro in Great Adventure got rid of theirs. After three consecutive rides and one ride on Gauntlet, we decided to just walk around the park for the heck of it and eventually ended up walking onto Kontiki, which was a pleasant surprise, Joker's Wildcard, then I rode Tomahawk by myself. We also briefly caught a glimpse of a magic show that was going on around 2:00 that was cute and very child-oriented. My mother decided to sit the rest of the day out, so I ended up finishing the day with Thunderbolt, Flashback, and another ride on Bizarro. All in all, it was a very satisfying day with perfect weather to boot.Final Rating: 5 out of 6 Flags.Ridelist: Bizarro 4xWicked Cyclone 2xBatman The Dark Knight 1xMind Eraser 1xThunderbolt 1xPandemonium 1xFlashback 1xGotham City Gauntlet 1xNE SkyScreamer 1xJoker's Wildcard 1xKontiki 1xTomahawk 1xScrambler 1xI'll post my pictures momentarily...

If I had to remove one ride, I would have to choose Jolly Roger since it's not too popular in comparison to certain other rides. I would replace it with some sort of compact flat ride like a new Rotor or something.

Namtab in action!
These new ads are all over Skyscreamer and the rest of the park
They've updated all of the Jersey Boys ads across both parks. That's nice, I guess...
The shark's gotten some TLC since the last time I was here.
AC/DC's new mascot
The Cedar Elephant has a new home.
And Mine Train has a new sponsor.
I'm going to miss this general area being the quietest of the entire park.

For those wondering, the sea lions have a new home in the Golden Kingdom.
Good night everyone! Thanks for reading!

Report:
This is the first time I've gone during the dead of July, arguably some of the busiest days of the year, but fortunately it wasn't too busy at all since I ended up going on a Monday. My mother and I arrived as soon as the park opened and our first target was Namtab: The Ride. The only line was for the front row so we were able to ride 3 consecutive times without any issue. After that we were able to score 2 rides on Nitro since it also barely had a line in the morning. After quick rides on the Dark Knight and Skull Mountain, we went on Skyscreamer which was about a twenty minute wait. I noticed that the TVs on the queue for rides like Skyscreamer are now displaying trivia about the parks history (i.e. Warner LeRoy being the mastermind of the park) which I thought was interesting. We had lunch outside of the park after a 1-cycle wait for Swashbuckler, and many rides especially this one were being "operated" by several employees each who were being trained by more experienced members.
I decided to go to Hurricane Harbor for a few hours after lunch since I haven't gone in 4 years and basically, it ended up being more crowded than the actual park was. Unfortunately, many of the lines were too long for me, including the two rides that opened since I was last there, but I was still able to ride plenty of things and have some fun.
I returned to the park around five o'clock and noticed that there is a new intricate sand sculpture in front of the Carousel to promote both Holiday In The Park and Fright Fest (Christmas AND Halloween in July, I guess). The deconstruction of the Grandstand and Fort Independence continues, with the fence surrounding the entire area. The construction of the updated Mexican restaurant in Plaza Del Carnival has also been progressing with the main signs now up. Unfortunately, El Diablo is still down, but I was able to score two rides on Bizarro and El Toro, each being about twenty minute waits including a short malfunction on Bizarro. I was able to score wait-less rides on Green Lantern, Superman, Twister, the Parachutes, Mine Train, and the Skyway. I ended my day with a 15-minute single-rider wait on Zumanjaro as the sun was going down as well as two nighttime consecutive rides on Kingda Ka because the people behind me on the second row were waiting for people in the front row and didn't get on when I got off, so that was a great way to end the night. I also walked by the red tent on my way out and caught a glimpse of some of the leftovers from the Great Adventure History Museum.
Overall, I had a blast at the theme park with minimal waiting all-around, but the water park was fairly crowded and I couldn't ride El Diablo yet. Final Verdict: 5 out of Six Flags.
Theme Park Ridelist:
Namtab: The Ride 3x
Kingda Ka 2x
El Toro 2x
Nitro 2x
Bizarro 2x
Green Lantern 1x
Superman 1x
Dark Knight 1x
Skull Mountain 1x
Mine Train 1x
Swashbuckler 1x
Twister 1x
Skyway 1x
Parachutes 1x
Zumanjaro 1x

Bad news: There was on and off rain and many of the rides were down at various points of the day. Good News: The rain scared most of the crowds away and I was able to get on pretty much everything I wanted to. The longest wait of the day for me was actually getting my season pass processed at the beginning of the day because the computers were malfunctioning. After that debacle, I was able to score two consecutive rides on both Superman and Green Lantern. The main problem at the start of the day was that many of the coasters, such as Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Superman, started off with only one train, but those that had two trains were all practically walk ons. After a brief ride on the Parachutes, my mother and I had lunch outside the park and caught a glimpse of the pieces for El Diablo. It's located in the parking lot of the Exploration Station and can be seen more clearly from the Zumanjaro line. It looks like they'll be re-using Rolling Thunder's old queue for the new ride.
When we got back in the park, I was able to get four consecutive rides on Bizarro, running with two trains and no lines (aside from the front), plus another ride later in the day with my mother. She spent most of the rest of the day napping in the car while I scored a ride on KIngda Ka, which would've been two but I was interrupted with the worst period of rain of the entire day. Since the rain didn't let up for a while, I took the Skyway over to Skull Mountain (twice), Nitro (three times), and the Dark Knight. TDK was clearly not ready at all for opening day: the pre-show lighting went off early and a portion of the ride was actually lit up from the roof. After that, I reunited with my mother and we rode SkyScreamer, Deja Vu, and Zumanjaro twice in a row (my first times, actually). My mother was totally finished after that, but I was in the mood for El Toro since they added a second train and was able to get three consecutive rides. I contemplated going on Batman but ultimately decided to wait until it goes backwards and finished the day with Blackbeard and Swashbuckler instead.
Overall Rating: 5.5 out of 6 Flags. The weather overall was pretty bad with on and off rain, but I was still able to get on everything I wanted to, even multiple times on some occasions.
I'll post my pictures soon...

Any sort of accurate time frame as to how long this is going to be here? I'm not exactly sure when my next park visit is going to be, but I REALLY want to see all of this awesome stuff for myself in person! I'm so glad that you guys have stuck a deal with the actual park to make something like this even possible. Not to mention, it might even convince a some people to check out this glorious website. Here's hoping!

Summer is officially here!
Zumanjaro was also testing at random points throughout the day.
Rolling Thunder's footprint looks much smoother than it did during my previous visit last month.
As you can see, a giant banner advertising Jersey Boys now adorns the side of El Toro. By sheer coincidence, the day before we went was also the day that the Jersey Boys movie was released (talk about overkill).
Here's a look at the new entrance for Zumanjaro and all of the wide open space left behind by RT.
A closer look at the work-in-progress sign for Zumanjaro.
A super-zoomed-in shot of the peaks of all of the new drop towers. I'd hate to be the guy who has to climb those thin ladders.
Cheese!! (By the way, the camera at the end of the ride is now totally gone for some reason.)
I'm real glad to see that these three little beauties are still going strong after 40 whole years...
...as well as this BIG beauty over here.
Even though the "official" 40th anniversary isn't until July 1st (or 4th depending on who you ask), I still felt like ending the day by honoring to the remaining rides, and the logo, from 1974. Happy birthday Great Adventure!!!!Thanks for reading!

Report: When I originally planned this trip several weeks ago, I expected Zumanjaro to have already opened and I wanted to attend the park one more time before the huge summer crowds would come rolling in. Unfortunately, not only was the new ride still under construction after longer than anyone expected, I also unintentionally scheduled this trip on the first day of summer, which inevitably meant some big crowds. My uncle Peter and a friend of his also accompanied my mother and I to the park and were equally disappointed that the new ride that they came for wasn't open yet, but we all still managed to have fun in the park. We all entered the park around 10:00 and I noticed on the ride postings that Kingda Ka wasn't marked "closed" anymore. I went into the actual park slightly earlier than them since I have a season pass and went straight to the Golden Kingdom to see if my suspicions were true, only to be met with a giant wooden fence blocking off the area and no employees around to ask questions to.Since it seemed unlikely that Kingda Ka would be operating at all, I encouraged everyone to head toward the Boardwalk first, and were able to score rides on Superman, Green Lantern, the Parachutes and Twister, all with waiting times of 10 minutes or less. Next, we went over to El Toro and were met with our first big line of the day, which we found out was because it was running with only ONE train (which I think is just plain stupid in general since El Toro is by far one of the parks most famous rides); After they loaded on a second train, the line moved much more smoothly and we rode it in no time. After briefly leaving the park for lunch, we decided to go on several of the less extreme rides in the park, such as SkyScreamer, Super Round Up Swashbuckler, and Jolly Roger.Around this point, the crowds began to peak and we skipped most of the rides in that area (except Batman). My uncle and his friend eventually decided that they just wanted to ride the Sky Ride and call it a day, but on our way there, I actually caught a glimpse of Kingda Ka running- with actual people on it! So I went on my own to that area because I wanted to ride it no matter what, and even with 3 trains running, I still ended up waiting an hour to ride it- half the time was because of the ride experiencing technical difficulties and had to be fixed up. After that mess, I chose to end the day by going on Nitro, riding it 4 times in a row, and buying that 40th anniversary t-shirt for season pass holders, since this day was the closest I was going to get to visiting on the ACTUAL 40th anniversary of the park. Overall, I was still able to have plenty of fun in spite of the first-day-of-summer crowds and the ongoing construction of the new ride.Rating: 4.5 out of 6 FlagsRidecount: Nitro 4xEl Toro 1xSuperman 1xGreen Lantern 1xBatman 1xKingda Ka 1xSkyscreamer 1xSwashbuckler 1xJolly Roger 1xTwister 1xParachutes 1xI'll post my pictures shortly.....

My my, I wonder what these are for....
Dang! I missed a photo op with a princess.
The line for the Safari Off Road Adventure...
A dance party as seen from above.
The preparations have begun!
There's a new thing this year called "Total Darkness", which I'm guessing is probably a terror trail.
My poor baby's down for the day.
The only GOOD marketing tie-in with a roller coaster that I've seen.
A "live and local" 80's cover band called Max Headroom also performed.
I've never seen these before and I thought they were cool. The backs even list the original 1974 candy prices!
More props, YAY!
He looks like the mascot for the 80's band.

Report: After being away from the park in about five long months, I happened to visit the park on the day of two big events in the park. The park was holding a concert from Bridgit Mendler that people were lining up for in front of the Northern Star Arena since noon, but I've never heard of her so I didn't bother to actually see it. Also, it was "Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella" day, and they celebrated it by playing the songs from the musical on the loudspeakers and holding a parade with the characters, which I missed by a hair. Anyway, since it's been so long the last time I visited the park, I was eager to visit the new Safari Off Road Adventure... only to be greeted by a line that stretched out to the sign of Runaway Train. Fortunately, it also meant that Runaway Train, Bizarro, and the Skyway all had less than 5 minutes each, so I rode then all with my mother. After a ride on Skull Mountain, I began to see that all of the lines were starting to pick up. I wandered off to Kingda Ka, which still had a sizable wait of about 20 minutes. El Toro was down for the day because of technical difficulties, meaning Rolling Thunder (just the left side was open) had a longer line than usual. The line for the Safari never got any shorter throughout the day, so I avoided like the plague and I'll just have to wait 'til my next visit. After a quick trip outside the park for some dinner, we were able to score some rides on Buccaneer, the Dark Knight, Deja Vu, two rides on Houdini. We also got the first ride on SkyScreamer with the lights on and a ride on the Big Wheel before my mother out early. Before the park closed through, I was able to get rides on Super Round Up (or whatever it's called now), Green Lantern, and Superman, each with little to no wait. Overall, I'm disappointed that I couldn't get on the Safari, but I was able to get a bunch of enjoyable rides with not to much waiting.Rating: 5 out of 6 flags

Report: My family got to the park around 1:00 and I immediately went to get my 2012 season pass processed. Both Superman and Green Lantern had pretty long lines, so I went on Kingda Ka first, which was a 15-20 minute wait with three trains running. Next I immediately went over to El Toro and was able to squeeze in four rides in total, followed by three rides on Bizarro, each with waits of less than 20 minutes. I attempted to ride Twister and I actually got on the ride, but it experienced problems before it could start up, so I wasn't able to ride it. Unfortunately, both the Parachute Tower and Slingshot were closed the entire day so I decided to go to the east side of the park. I was able to ride Batman: The Ride, The Dark Knight Coaster, and before the day was out, two rides on Nitro. I was also impressed that the new Skyscreamer was topped off recently and I think it's a nice addition to the park's skyline. After we had dinner outside of the park, I was able to fit in a ride on Green Lantern and I was about to ride Kingda Ka once again just 15 minutes before the park was supposed to close, but as I was about to get on, it experienced some technical difficulties so I left the park aggravated.
Overall, it was a satisfying day at the park. The weather was nice, the crowds weren't too big and I was able to obtain my 2012 season pass! Hopefully, all of the new rides will be open by the next time I visit the park.

For me personally, my ride order changes every time I visit the park. Usually, I'd prefer to start on the left side of the park (Ka or Toro), then I work my way up to Bizarro, then the Boardwalk, then eventually to the right side of the park staring with Nitro.
The next time I visit, however, I'll be hitting up The Joker first then do the opposite of what I usually do: Nitro and the right side of the park first then the other half of the park. But hey, that's just me.
