  1. Worst ride: Jumping Jack Flash because it was never open while simultaneously looking awesome. Worst Coaster: Viper. I don't mind rough coasters, but wow, this was brutal.
  2. I didn't have a problem with the headrest, but I don't put my head against the headrest on any coaster other than launch coasters so that might be why. The biggest problems I thought were the bottom of the lapbar, which dug into my thighs, and the shoulder straps that have no give. The latter is especially bad since the inversions have some hangtime and there's a few instances of legit ejector air.
  3. No it's not. It's about as "rough" as Green Lantern. That being said, the restraints aren't so hot.
  4. I remember riding Questor back in 1991. It kind of freaked me out though because I was little wuss back then. lol
  5. I don't think they can build around the lake, but a Voyage type of woodie that goes around the lake would be awesome.
  6. Looping Dragon is a larger model and will be likely be ground mounted, so it'll take longer to setup than the portable counterpart. That being said, it should only take like a week or two, lol. Also, a portable version can be setup in like 3 hours. How's that for efficiency?
  7. A lot of people, including myself, would not buy a season pass if it was $180. The maximum I would pay is $120.
  8. I haven't done SORA yet, which is a shame. That'll be a priority for next season. Other than that, all of the upcharge rides and Tango are the only ones. Twister isn't as bad as it looks, nor are the harnesses. That being said, the cycle isn't that great compared to other Top Spin rides, so you guys aren't really missing much. lol
  9. Ugh, no thanks. The only reason I don't ride Log Flume much is because of the water sprayers they already have and the fact that I'm typically carrying a camera. I always thought of log flumes as rides where you get kind of wet but not totally soaked while rapids and splash boats are the ones designed to get you soaked. Now, if they want to add some waterfalls and such to Congo Rapids, by all means do it!
  10. I only went 4 times, but considering the single day entry and parking prices compared to what I paid for a season pass + parking, I'm not even mad. lol
  11. I waited 30 minutes for Nitro at around 9pm. The line filled about 1/4 of the switchbacks at that point. Most other coasters were one or two trains when I got to them. El Toro, however, had a full queue. I ended up skipping it. I thought about heading to it at around 10:30, but I was freezing and hungry and just wanted to hit the road.
  12. Batman: the Ride at GAdv. My second, during the same trip, was Viper.
  13. ^ Are you sure it was that section that had the fire? I remember riding the flume on Funtown in 1996 or so. It was erected in 1977 and removed in 1999. Edit: Yep, 1995. 3 alarm fire burnt down 2 buildings near Funtown.
  14. ^ LOL that's right, just like how Dorney should have gotten rid of Thunderhawk 30 years ago or how Coney Island Cyclone should be replaced by a Wing Rider... Anyway, I think SF has made up their minds, but we'll see.
  15. I don't really like that Rolling Thunder is coming down, but I understand it. It would be silly to spend X millions of dollars to fix up a ride that already gets a bad rap from the GP. I just hope they use that space to its full potential and not turn it into another abandoned area like Movietown or Old Country.
  16. Well, the way I see it, Runaway Mine Train seems to be the only "real" coaster of the four. It feels like a "big" coaster but is for everyone. Rolling Thunder was similar in that it felt like one of the "big rides" instead of a glorified kiddie coaster like Blackbeards. That being said, I don't think Great Adventure needs another coaster that appeals solidly to families, but rather something like a GCI or Gravity Group woodie that would appeal to the mid to upper family demographic as well as thrill seekers.
  17. ^ For sure! Not too wild but here's a video I took of a thunderstorm about to descend on GAdv in late August; if I stuck around for a few more minutes I would have gotten slammed I'm sure. http://vimeo.com/27992796
  18. The one in the video is about 172 feet to the top. Ours it 150 feet so it's just a touch shorter. Personally I was hoping we'd get the 48 passenger Star Flyer for the extra capacity: http://ridesdb.com/db/thumbpic.php?ride_id=3496 . But beggars can't be choosers I guess.
  19. Definitely. Right side, as I said in a ride review of Rolling Thunder, is a "tail bone shattering ordeal." Those curved hills that the right side has are just horrible; those old trains have no business making a maneuver like that anymore. lol
  20. When did this one happen? Can someone fill me in on this hanging incident?
  21. A swap of Superman: Ultimate Flight for one of those Premier launched coasters would be pretty nice! I'm not a big fan of Superman Although it would kind of kill the skyline. Those spaghetti bowls aren't exactly the nicest looking rides in the world. and yes I know the last post date...
  22. I think another Wave Swinger would be better than a Yo Yo. I agree with mrceagle in that they're kind of carny looking with their exposed sweeps and overall rinky dink-ness.
  23. ^ Looks like some alien spaceship landed on a farm or something. lol 150mph pretty dang fast for a coaster, that's like a mid-range EF3 tornado blasting you in the face!
  24. No...I kind of hope it's called Shockwave actually. hehe
