  1. Back when the park had Shockwave, I was a tad shorter than my present 6'-6" height, and I was able to fit on the train. Does anyone know if the trains are any different than those used on Shockwave ? I only hope I am still able to ride this coaster, even if I have to bend my knees slightly. I wonder what the official height allowance is ?

  2. Hi Everyone,

I finally did a fly-over on Sunday, though despite the mellow looking sky it was quite bumpy up there. I shot some areas of interest including Bizarro, plus some overview shots as well including the BONEYARD. Looks like Jumpin Jack Flash is no longer there, or possibly moved indoors. Not many folks were in attendance at noon time, though I hope more showed up later in the day for the park's sake.

You can find the park gallery HERE

And the Bizarro (Medusa) Update gallery HERE

    Enjoy ;)

  3. Forget the new paint on the tracks....How about NEW TRACKS !!! This coaster was always a "fun" kind of rough, but now it provides a senseless jack-hammering effect on your spine and lower regions. Definitely, not a fun coaster to ride any more. I honestly don't know what it would take to remove the jack-hammering. Perhaps a paint job is all the park can afford at this time :(

  4. From the beginning, I always wished that the fort would've been open to the public. With a little stair climbing (and maybe an elevator for the handicapped), imagine what a nice view and different perspective you could get from the top. Maybe this idea was even in the initial plans, since in the picture you can see folks waving from the two towers and the walkway that connects them.

I do love these mystical drawings that the park created. The fort would've had to of been double the size it is now for RMT to be that high whilst passing the fort :D

I completely agree that the park should invest in maintaining the appearance of this classic fort structure as it truly unique, and like GAcoaster mentioned, only the exterior wooden features would need to be upgraded. That is assuming the steel structure itself is intact, since this is the same structure used to support the Sky Ride.

  5. Hi Everyone,

This past Saturday, July 12, 2008, was spent flying with my Dad and my wife to Fishers Island, NY (just north of Montauk Point and south of Groton, CT). Enroute over Long Island, I spotted a park I had not seen before, and later identified it as Splish Splash Water Park, which looked impressive from the air.

On the return flight, Rye Playland Park was in front so I flew a few circles around to capture a nice array of views. I was also finally able to shoot a couple pics of the new Super Flight coaster, along with the Dragon wooden coaster, which I placed on my Roller-Coasters web page.

    See the Galleries Below:

    Enjoy ;)

  6. It is neat to see the park before any MAJOR coasters were present. I especially liked seeing Adventure Rivers, since I was not attending the park when this attraction was there. I pretty much forgot that I shot this video before I made the Screen Grab Gallery from this footage. I only wish we had the Digital camcorders of today, complete with image stabilization, back then....

Thanks a lot for your comments :D
