  1. It is neat to see the park before any MAJOR coasters were present. I especially liked seeing Adventure Rivers, since I was not attending the park when this attraction was there. I pretty much forgot that I shot this video before I made the Screen Grab Gallery from this footage. I only wish we had the Digital camcorders of today, complete with image stabilization, back then.... Thanks a lot for your comments
  2. I finally took a look at the Yum Yum Palace SPOTLIGHT and what a delight it was. I love the selection of pictures you guys provided, and true GAFREAK, it was great when Shockwave was there, as I was happy to of had a chance to ride that for the short time it was at the park....
  3. I was FINALLY able to post the video that these screen grabs were taken from, and you can find the Video Topic HERE !!!
  4. Hi Everyone, Take a journey over Six Flags Great Adventure from Summer of 1994. I shot this Home Video with our 8mm SONY camcorder as a passenger in my Dad's 1946 Fairchild airplane. Even though our camcorder did not have image stabilization, most of the video is fairly steady and I think you will enjoy it. You have (2) options for viewing, depending on your connection speed (Right Click and Save File to Your Computer FIRST): MPEG @ 150 Mb WMV @ 67 Mb Take your pick !!! Enjoy
  5. Nice Update....Thanks for Posting I'm still wondering if I will be able to FIT into the cars. From the picture I saw floating around the internet of the cars, I think I will. The leg room looks greater than a standard wild mouse, which I cannot fit into, and even more than Skull Mountain. But only time will tell.
  6. You beat me to it, Tom, but thanks for posting the gallery . I was overjoyed when I came across this video since I forgot I had shot it way back when. And with the helpful use of the TMPGEnc software, I was able to get these screen grabs. I'll post the video soon... Thanks for the comments
  7. Yes, Jungle Habitat IS on my shoot-list for the next nice day that I am in the area. I have sporadic pictures here and there of the area in general with of course the airport as the main element, but none of just the ruins. I believe that the access roads to and from West Milford/Greenwood Lake were the demise of this park. My Dad tells me of a colleague of his said he waited on line for literally hours, just to get IN, and were even diverted onto the airport's taxi-way/runway because there were too many cars and just not enough parking areas. IMO, the only way that this park could have survived, especially if they were to expand, was if one of the two-lane roads was opened-up to a 4-lane thoroughfare. I was there once as a child with my Mom and Grandmother, and we did drive thru the Safari. I distinctly remember the bumper to bumper traffic going thru in a HOT, un-airconditioned car. I also got to ride an Elephant and a Camel. Then my buddy and I drove there to explore back in the early 90's, when the huts, buildings and really neat bamboo/stick/whatever bridge was still intact. I only wish I took pictures back then like I do now wherever I go..... GAcoaster - So, where's that message about the fly-over ???
