On Oct. 22, I went to Fright Fest with a couple of friends. We arrived around 5 o clock because we live so close to the park. We just decided to go later for the Frights. When we made a right into the park, I saw that the line was way back over the bridge in all 3 lanes! It took us 45 mins just to get to our parking spot, which was in the overflow parking area.
When we arrived in the park, the hand-stamp line was 15mins, but the line to enter was 2 minutes and we got right in. Then we went over to El Toro, since it was still light out and we wanted to hit a few rides before the scare actors came out. When we got there the line was rapped all the way around the structure and onto the Bizarro bridge. Since I've ridden it 121 times and counting, we decided not to ride it. So we went over to Rolling Thunder, which everyone says is bumpy, but it really isn't if you use my strategy. LEAN FORWARD. The seat is whats shaking, if your not on the seat you won't shake. The line was an hour and they were running one side for Flash Pass and one for the GP. So we got out of the line but got some information from a kid, saying El Toro=5 Hours, Bizarro=3 Hours, Batman=3 Hours, and Nitro=4 Hours.
WE went over to the Lakefront Graveyard but it was only 6:15 and it opened at 6:45. Then, we went over to Ichiban Tea House. It was probably the best meal I have ever had at Great Adventure. It was $11.99 and i got Tempura Chicken, Noodles, and a Spring Roll, and let me tell you. They load up your plate. They gave you at least 7 servings! Then we went over to Runaway Mine Train and it had a HOUR (I've never seen it that long) line. So we took the Sky ride to Skull Mountain, which was out of the Queue. Then, since it was close, we rode the Jolly Roger. It only had a 5 min wait, or 1 train wait. It was fun, considering it was our FIRST ride. After that, we did The Haunted Heist. This was excellent for $5. You have to press this button that starts the lasers. You have to make your way through the lasers(and scare actors cause this is Fright Fest)to the checkpoint and crawl back through the lasers and press the first button again and then exit. The last scare actor had a chainsaw and I don't know how I didn't see him. He came up behind my friends and I and we all ran out. It was worth the money(and the 5 min. wait.).
On our way back to the Graveyard, we saw a show called The Monster Show, which involved flames like Bizarro, fireworks, and fog Machines. It was interesting. So we got to the Graveyard but, the line went from the store Attitudes to the front of Ben & Jerry's. Not feeling like waiting, we went to Rolling Thunder thinking the line cut down and it did. We waited for the Left Side from the Stairs! It was the best ride I have ever had on Rolling Thunder. All because of the blackness. We were being whipped with cold but in a good way! After that we went back to the Lake Front Graveyard. We walked right past it and went to Runaway Mine Train, think because the line for Rolling Thunder went down, maybe it's the same for the Train. And it was, the line ended up being at the bottom of the stairs and we waited 60 Mins because my friend got into a line that the whole cart was down and we had to wait for her to get into another cart. Flash Pass also had a part in ruining our experience. Then after that we went to the Lakefront Graveyard, for the third and last time. In the beginning, there was a prop that was laying on a hearse and it looked like her head was cut off. As we walked past, the prop, that wasn't so much a prop, jumped at us and my friends freaked, also thinking it was a prop. After the trail, we headed on the family-friendly trail towards the exit of the park. Boo, Hoo!
To end, we went back to our car at 10 and got in our car safely. We left without problem. When, I got home I texted my other friends and found out they were leaving but it just so happened that it took them 2.5 hours to leave!. They were at Six Flags Great Adventure till 1:30 AM! It was just insane. All in all, I had a great time there. I had also a good time with friends. That all the counts!
