The park does have buyouts from time to time and the lighting around the towers and pools are all more than adequate, the problem is that the path lights are very weak and they require bringing in light towers to keep someareas safely illuminated. If they put in better path lights around the park, they could definitely be open later and have special night events.

With the growing popularity of LED lights and how energy efficient they are, it could be feasible to hold an event like this again and not have as much cost to operate it. Plus I think some of the new LEDs look pretty cool, finally got some on my house this year!

Couldn't agree more. he park used to have so many water attractions, it's a real shame to see that only 2 are left. A new one would have been really welcome with how hot this past summer was.

^The park could really use waiting time boards around the park. I always thought that all of those new TVs would be perfect to have current wait times cycled in with all the rest of the programming and the Jumbotron would actually be a fantastic tool to implement that!

There actually were more tubes added to the river this year, on crowded days at any waterpark you're going to have trouble finding a tube. Same thing happened at Typhoon Lagoon back in June when I was there, there were absolutely no open tubes left in the river.

A quick rundown of things that the park needs:

1) Drop Tower/Starflyer- I'll take either of these, a large tower ride would be a perfect addition in Evolution's old spot or the Teepee's open space.

2)Giant Flume/Splash Battle-With the death of MTWE, we only have two water rides and you're not even guaranteed to get wet on them. Perfect areas for these would be the Boardwalk in the Simulator buidling spot or over by the Lakefront.

3) Mid-range flats (Frisbee, Disk-O, Claw, Double Inverter, Monster, Breakdance, Musik Express, Bumper Cars)- Fill in the gaps around the park, we need things that the entire family can go on together.

4) Dark ride- We really need a top notch dark ride somewhere in the park. Think along the lines of DarKastle or Spiderman even.

5) Interactive ride- Not to be confused with the dark ride, but having just got back from WDW and loving Toy Story Mania, a ride in which the entire family can go on and have a blast would be fantastic.

6) Less concrete- The park has become a bit of a concrete jungle over the past 15 years or so, it's time to rip up some of that old/cracked concrete and get more planters/trees around the park.

7) Ride refurbs/theme refurbs-A lot of things have been neglected in the park such as Congo Rapids and Movietown. Some dressing up and repairs can make the park more of an experience than a day trip. If you can go in and make rides have an interactive queue or even just a cohesive theme while waiting in line, it makes for an awesome experience and themed experiences do bring people back and they bring all of their friends and family to the park saying "You have to experience this!"

8) Shows!- The park is severely lacking in the Entertainment department. There are three unoccupied show venues that could draw in more families to the park (not to mention concession revenue). A new Batman show based on the new movies would generate great reception; A new show such as Industrial motion would play great on hot days in Showcase; A nighttime show at the lakefront comparable to Fantasmic would keep families and guests in the park all the way until closing.

9) A transportation system around all 3 parks- The park needs to invest in a better tram/shuttle system, or even a monorail

10) A unified park- I've heard it's possible to relocate all of those slides in Hurricane Harbor to the main park and not break the bank. If Harbor could be moved into the park, you can have a unified gate price. Create a Safari themed entrance from the park with open air buses and you have can have a SuperPark one your hands.

11)A revamped Fright Fest- Use the closed Hurricane Harbor to your advantage, make it into a Scream Park and move the giant crowds/lines out of the main park. Keep the scare zones, but move the trails to the Harbor. It could make for a hell of an experience. Also, utilize empty buildings in the park like they did with the Observatory. A cool indoor maze could be put into the old Wii Experience space

12) A hotel- the final puzzle piece that is really needed. A world class hotel with a small indoor waterpark for the offseason could bring in more crowds and even allow for a Holiday in the park event. Build a convention center along with it to draw in all types of events and business. A hotel could open the door to the whole area becoming more than just an amusement park, but a whole entertainment complex.

Haven't ridden it yet, but I saw it today in person for the first time. Now I hope they add some more!

I don't know about anyone else, but seeing these extreme elements with skimpy supporting just screams "downtime, downtime, downtime"

As with any new method of building or improving coasters, there's going to be a lot of growing pains and trial and error. I really think that Texas Giant is gonna go through a lot of it.

I don't see them selling the park due to it's lucrative Hotel and indoor waterpark that can operate year round. Since The Great Escape is the only park in the chain not to expressly use the Six Flags name, it seems as though they are moving away from the corporate and licensed themes in favor of returning it to it's roots. Plus taking off one park from the licensing fees could make room for improvements around the change. Warner Brothers still has a stake in Six Flags itself with the loans they've given them after emerging from bankruptcy, I don't see a complete removal of the Looney Tunes from the park.

I'll also pre-empt talk of the Looney Tunes not being relevant anymore with how relevant are the Peanuts characters? Or even Scooby Doo these days? Just because they aren't as popular as they once were does not mean that a cartoon cleansing is coming to town. Six Flags and Warner are too intertwined at this point to try and separate them, and with GL opening in two different parks, I wouldn't worry about the Looney Tunes going anywhere in the near future.

Make the old tiger exhibit a smoking area, it will fulfill my vision of putting smokers behind plexiglass for everyone to stare at and learn about.

Many of the tasks and responsibilities of the people who were cut were consolidated into existing positions which have been filled with new people, so yes, new people are calling the shots at the top, while most of the park level people have stayed the same with some MAJOR exceptions (Mark Kane being that exception)

From what I could tell, they were testing some LEDs in the Boardwalk these past two summers on the corner of the game stand right over by DDD.

The whole Bizarro concept was just to make the GP think a whole new ride had been built and revive its popularity. While it did attract long lines for its reopening, last season it was back to being forgotten again with short waits. The theme elements I don't expect to last much longer, the first thing to go besides the audio will either be the mist or the flames since it's cousin up in New England got them removed.

As for Green Lantern, I'm hoping it relies more upon detail and clever design than metal frames and flashing lights.

Who knows, with electric cars coming out, we may very well see charging stations popping up in the next 5 years

Who cares about the parking lot, and if you have a season pass just pay extra for parking.

From my experience, a lot of people care about the parking lot. And on days when attendance hovers around 35,000 the parking lot fills up and people are literally hiking to get to the front gate from their parking spot, trams are needed badly.
