  1. I'll ride Diablo at least once but I've been legitimately excited for Namtab since the rumours started way back about us getting it.
  2. Hey guys need a little bit of help/advice about my season passes and didn't know where els to post on here. Trying to make this as short and to-the-point as possible but it won't be easy. I have plans in place to go up with a buddy to Coasters After Dark next Friday but I haven't been to the park yet this season and therefore I have yet to process my pass (for whats its worth: they are Gold Passes w/ parking, were purchased in early Dec during their black friday deal and parking is on the same voucher as the passes are on). I am pretty sure I have read here and elsewhere that if I paid for parking and its on the same voucher (it is) that I don't have to go to processing to "add it" and since I'm not adding anything else right now (I might get the photo card but that doesnt go on the pass anyway right? Anyways, I'm not getting the dining/shopping stuff added). Is this true? I'd hate to go up for CAD for a night of short lines and have to spend it @ processing. Will they just give me my card at the gate and parking and all is done/processsed/etc and I'm good and can presumably just run to El Toro lol? Here's my other dilemma: my ride up to the park that night is from a non-SP holder, I was going to bring him as my BAF for $14.99. I know I can show my voucher for parking before I get my card at the gate, BUT can I use my voucher at the ticket booth if I won't have my card yet? Like I'll show my voucher at parking, can I show it at ticket booths again to get him in and then I can get my card at the gate? Does this make sense? Anyone? Bueller? edit! Well folks, I reluctantly called the park about this and if you can believe it not only did they answer the phone right away (!!) the employee I spoke to was awesomely helpful, friendly and wished me good weather (!!!) and she was able to answer both my questions. For anyone curious - yes, if the pass and parking is on the same voucher you don't have to go to processing for parking UNLESS you want to add shopping or dining stuff. She did say I should just double check with the person at the gate when arriving and getting my card, so me being me I'll likely ask a few people to be sure. She even said "you wouldn't want to come back again and not be able to park for free!" As for my other question: she seemed even more confident in telling me that yes I'll be able to just show my voucher to the ticketbooth person and they'll give me the BAF$14.99 coupon my buddy can use for entry to CAD and I'll just give my voucher to the person at the gate in exchange for my card and shouldn't have any problem at all. Just wanted to share the update and my excitement at this unexpected interaction with the park.
  3. IMO the most likely scenario is getting a custom RMC hybrid, hopefully in the Movietown/Old Country section near Nitro/Batman. Yes, I know we have Toro, and an RMC would be a generally similar experience (an extreme woodie), but Six Flags has been all about the RMCs the last few years, so I think its only a matter of time before we get one, which I'm fine with. I have yet to ride one but all of them look amazing in their own ways, I hear they are great, and they seem to be relatively cheap when compared to a new, custom B&M. I agree with whoever posted that GAdv may have been on the list for a big new coaster in 2015 but then Zumanjaro not opening on time/going over budget probably changed that.
  4. I, for one, am stoked for this ride. I loved riding the Flyers at Hershey and SFA this summer, I think this will round out a really nice collection of flats, probably the best of all the regional parks around here (Hershey is a close second but without something like a drop tower or Screaming Swing most of thier flats are for the little ones). Morey's is also getting Flyers next year on Surfside pier where the Condor used to be.
  5. Damn, I forgot about Houdini. Did that a few times this year. I don't necessarily *like* the ride, but its fun to take people on for their first ride and not tell them anything about it.
  6. Ahhhh didn't realize that, makes sense then. We went opening day this year (a Saturday) and I didn't think crowds were too bad considering it was such gorgeous weather. We didn't do a FP and the longest we waited for anything was 20 minutes.
  7. I agree that Skyrush is a bit short but its intensity makes up for that. IMO it feels like it should end when it does. Also the fact that the lift is 17mph contributes to the brevity, there is none of that slow building anticipation you get with something like Nitro or ROS. Still, compare it to Kingda Ka which is 20-some seconds from launch to break. edit: Personally, I think what I would most want SFGAdv to get for their next coaster would be an Intamin hyper/giga/megalite (or RMC hybrid). I know its unlikely we'll get another Intamin, but so far out of all the Intamin's I've ridden they are generally my favorite ride experiences. El Toro, Skyrush, ROS, Fahrenheit, Storm Runner, etc all amazing. I know there is a lot of chatter about a B&M wing rider but I don't think any of the Six Flags parks are going to get any B&Ms for a while. While they are reliable and high capacity they are very expensive and GAdv in particular already has 5 B&Ms.
  8. Oh yeah Ive ridden the Log Flume a few times this year and did Rapids way back when so those too.
  9. Is this official? Seems weird opening day would be on a Friday. *considers notifying boss of vacation day*
  10. Agreed. While the helices suck out a lot of the energy, I enjoyed Superman @ SFA. Good first drop, love that fast first turn, and great airtime on the hills toward the end. We went this year on a dead day and I was able to ride 12xs throughout the day. Batwing I did once and I hated it. Awful restraints and that horrible flip into the drop. A lot of people seem to love it, including folks I was with but its just not for me I guess. Speaking of hypers, Skyrush is my favorite coaster (after El Toro of course) and the most insanely intense coaster I have ever been on. Was able to ride it 4xs in one night recently and it blew me away.
  11. Ive ridden all of the coasters (except Road Runner Railway) and almost none of the flats except Zumanjaro, Buckaneer and Sky Screamer. None of the upcharges. Trying really hard to think of anything else I've done but I think that's it. Buckaneer only because someone dragged me on. I go for the coasters. I haven't even done the safari, unless you count as a kid in my Dad's stationwagon. I won't step foot near Twister, I hate those things. edit: Skyway counts as a flat, no? Done that a bunch.
  12. In 2013 I went once, the first time since the early 90s. I live in Philly, almost an hour from the park and have no car. Still, I purchased a season pass this year hoping I would make it up at least 2-3 times to cover the cost of the pass. Utilizing the bring-a-friend days I managed to get up to the park an amazing 10 times (and SFA once, Morey's 5xs, Hershey once and Dorney once) in 2014. I haven't posted any trip reports here but I posted about all my trips this year on my blog if you want to check it (link in sig).

Always like reading your reports, Yoshi.
  14. So myself and some amigos were planning on going to the ACE/Fairgrounds private event jawn this Saturday night @ the park but according to every forecast I can find its gonna thunderstorm all night so thats out. Curious if you guys think this Sunday morning would be a quiet time to hit up the park? I am majorly itching for some Toro. I know its a bring-a-friend-free day BUT with it being after Labor Day and school back in session, and an Eagles game @ 1 on Sunday I thought it might be quiet. Anyone have any experience doing Sept sundays in the past? Should I not bother? Id like to avoid spending the $$$ on a FP but even a few early morning spins on the bull (and maybe Nitro )would be enough for me.
  15. What's up with NAMTAB? I could care less about this thing. Bad placement, imo, Toro and Ka are going to completely dwarf this thing.
  16. I was there Wednesday and we stopped in for a few minutes and the museum is totally awesome, kudos!
  17. Kind of a weird/random question for the regulars. My buddy and I have the day off from work tomorrow and are planning on going up to the park for the day. We were planning on heading up early even tho the forecast is calling for rain in the morning. With all the crazy rain yesterday and more later today is there a good chance the park could flood and not open tomorrow? Would like to be able to get in even if certain things are not running but then thought about the chances of certain areas flooding.
  18. I usual do a cooler and stop @ Wawa and go out to the car for lunch but Ive had a few random things inside the park this year and I can't complain about anything but the prices. Food was decent. edit: and I'm picky, also.
  19. Stoked to hear it will be open thru July, I will be stopping by when I am @ the park on Wednesday this week.
  20. Also FYI to all re: the pockets/loose article issue: Old Navy has (somewhat stylish lol) shorts that double as swimtrunks and have zippered pockets on the side, and they are on sale NOW for around $12. Just saying. I may or may not have ordered a few pairs after reading about this.
  21. Which means they do have generators for at least those lights (and for the front gate it sounds like). Guess they have to have them at the highest point of the tall coasters considering those lights are mainly for pilots/air traffic.
  22. Man that sucks. I understand the reasoning as it seems every time I go on a ride at the park lately some jackass has their phone out. In fact on Toro last time this jerk was in front of me with his phone over his head trying to film his friends that were BEHIND ME. I gave him the whole schpeil about no phones, etc while on the lift hill but he wouldnt put it away. I did not exactly feel safe but luckily he held onto it. Personally I try to bring as little as possible into the park knowing I'll have to shove it all in my pockets on coasters (sunglasses, camera, wallet is really all I need, and sometimes I don't even bring the camera) but I guess I have to get some zippered shorts and pants. Regardless of the safety factor, I can't help but feel its a way to get more coin out of me. I already dealt with getting wanded on Nor'easter twice this year, where ironically, they let me keep my sunglasses on during one of the rides I took. LOL.
  23. Yeah, I guess what I was asking is would you all agree that Tuesdays/Weds are the best out of the weekdays to go? Like, as opposed to say a Friday or Monday. I'm usually working Mon-Fri, so I have been going to the park mostly Sundays this year save for opening day (Saturday) and Coasters After Dark (Friday night). Looks like we are probably going Wednesday the 16th, just have to keep an eye on the weather. I purposely picked a day where there were no events happening @ the park as the whole point is to try to go when it will be less crowded. Not sure how much of an increase in crowds the park sees for concerts or stuff like 7-11 day or Jersey Boys day lol
