I was at the park Sunday for the first time since Zumanjaro opened. I enjoyed it but wouldn't wait for it if the line is long. I rode Kingda Ka and boy has that ride got rough over the years. It was bad to the point my head was hurting for the rest of the day. The trains shook like crazy the whole ride.

Forgot to post this earlier...Went to the park last Sunday (awesome day), spoke to a park employee about Zumanjaro. He said it hasn't opened yet due to some approval that needs to happen with the state and they are hoping to open it by the end of the month. Throw this one in the high rumor class. Kingda Ka opened later in the day which was nice to ride as always. I really didn't see any work being done on Zumanjaro from the naked eye throughout the day.

Looks good! I'm excited to use part of the old Kingda Ka line. Going to able to get some nice photos.

I honestly never been on a real drop tower. Going to be scared to death but I can't wait to ride it. Being terrified makes it that much more fun

I still can't believe how/why they would mount a drop tower to Kingda Ka for a few reasons.

1-The tower doesn't go straight up like Superman does in SFMM.

2-After the first major breakdown they moved the line away from the ride so people aren't near it. 2 years ago I was taking pics of KK right outside of the park, several feet away from the black fence in the parking lot and 3 security cars drove over to us asking what was I doing. This was during the day, while the ride was non-operational at the time and the park was open. After I said I was just taking pictures they said ok and drove away.

3-At the bottom of the tower is the "heart" of Kingda Ka where the magic happens. Why would they want to put a ride on top of that in case they have to do maintenance?

If you buy a season pass from SFNE (as an example) and re-new it every year from that park, can you only pick up the coupon book annually from that park only? Or can it be done at any park as long as it's processed the first time?

Does the zip line go over the whole safari or just part of it?

I was considering going to the park on Labor Day. Is that a day the park is usually jammed packed? I never been there during any holidays for that reason but with school starting I thought it might not be. But then again the last minute vacation people could affect it.

It would be cool to see but I don't understand how they can do it on Kingda Ka. The back of the structure is not perfectly straight going up. And the "heart" of KK is in the building below. Would they really want to add a ride with people around that area? They never opened the old line back up because they didn't want people near the ride after the 05 malfunction so I can't see why they would add a drop tower.

It's still a win win for the park to have it whether the number of people park there decrease or not. Some people will always pay the extra fee and they'll make extra money on it regardless. I prefer to park closer to the exit anyway where there is less traffic and people that walk by.

I'm having trouble right now renewing my season pass. I went online to renew, and when I entered my season pass number plus birthday/phone number for verification it says it cannot find it. I even tried the option "I don't know my number" and enetered my name, phone #, and bday and it still cannot find it. Am I doing something wrong? I tired it multiple times and no luck. Otherwise is there a phone number I can call to do it over the phone? Thanks

I couldn't find any topics on this but do they have funatics again this year? I haven't been getting anything in my email.

I'm having a hard time figuring this out from the cam but I'm not sure if this was mentioned before. I see the handicapped ramp and stairs on the same side and usually the handicapped ramp is the exit on the opposite side. Is it going to be a one side load/unload station? Or does the handicapped ramp go under the station to the opposite side?

Looks like now they painted a yellow piece white....:facepalm:

The entire first loop is now yellow....I did a double take when I saw the web cam just now.

I renewed my season pass tonight, talk about absolute last minute on sixflags.com/renewnow and got the expedited shipping option (If I knew my pass had to be shipped to my house I would've done it last week). I am kind of worried that my pass (and extra bring a friend ticket) won't get here in time. I was on the UPS website and it said 2 business days for expedited shipping but I'm not sure how processing time or whatever they do before its shipped will take.

 

I'm hoping it should be here Wednesday or Thursday (best case scenario)

 

In the worst case scenario, if my pass doesn't arrive before saturday is there anything I can or have to do to make sure I can get in

 

I also posted this on the Great Adventure facebook page but haven't gotten a response or anything so I hope I have better luck here

I ordered mine about a week ago. I did the standard shipping and it came pretty quick. They emailed me a UPS tracking number when it was shipped out so check for that email and it will tell you exactly what date it will arrive.

"- Ka will be running three trains on one side of the station. This will improve capacity by 10%!"

Does this mean it will ONLY run three trains on one side or three trains on one side and one train on the other?

I don't think it was mentioned yet but here is what is in the 2011 coupon book, if those are all the coupons they really cut back. Nothing for food or games this year

Stinks they are giving 2 less bring a friend coupons for free.

Nitro's free lockers for the one year they had them and El Toro's cubbies worked great until they took them out. Hershey park just has a sign at every station saying not responsible for lost or stolen items left here.

Thanks! It weighed over 50 lbs and it doesn't seem like it until you pick it up. Since it was a charity auction the price was worth it for me. I think I'm going to frame the scream machine shirt that it came with.

Hopefully the "got 2b glue" ads don't come back
