  1. Somehow I've just always hoped for an INTAMIN ride. Yeah, they're expensive, higher operating cost, but people seem to love them forever. B&M coasters just die down after a while, in my opinion... Although I believe it's pretty much impossible, I want an Intamin LSM, but a Premier launched is great too.
  2. Doesn't it seem like the S&S 4D free spin is a lot like Intamin's Zacspin? I always hear that the Zacspin was criticized, but S&S is finding success. I've personally never ridden any of these rides, but based of their appearances, I think they look very much alike. Why didn't the Zacspin rule out?
  3. Why has Great Adventure not given any clues (other than the physical happenings at Lakefront) about their ride? It all seems odd this year.
  4. Recently, the mother giraffe Noel gave birth to her first baby, Mika. Would anyone like to share some interesting happenings that they saw at the safari with this new little giraffe?
  5. Ooooooh! Could I have one??? I generally don't buy a whole lot of stuff from the park because it is rather pricey, I do collect the maps, though. Can I please have a yoyo?
  6. Oh we'll always want something more the next year. That can always be said without a doubt!! Poor Six flags, trying to suffice the wants of its guests, while always battling overbudget projects:(
  7. I've always been daydreaming about a steel coaster with connected trains that are sitting both on top of and under the track, so it is both inverted and sitting on the track. I've still been thinking about how the supports would be possible, but perhaps the train was connected with super strong magnets and the support poles would be somewhere in between? I've also been thinking about a coaster in the forest, as mentioned. It gives a little more thrilling experience without killing all those trees, plus, it's thrilling to be riding in a forest, whipping past trees. What a great daydream;)
  8. Go ahead! Spit out all those awesome coaster dreaming ideas for the park! Share any cool and crazy thoughts and wishes for future coaster possibilities--they're endless. We should have some great ideas after a disappointing announcement for next year.
  9. This is so much fun. If only the park would get SOMETHING new.
  10. Roller coasters have already gone so far that I can barely think of a new way of moving them. I don't know; a hydraulic launched wooden coaster just seemed amusing to me.
  11. Great Adventure only has one hydraulic launched coaster, Kingda Ka. The rest are all powered by lift hill. At holiday world, there is a new B&M LSM launched wing coaster for 2015 that is catching everyone's eyes. Could something like a hydraulic launched wooden coaster be made possible? Great adventure really needs to catch up in the coaster wars. Opinions?
  12. Hello! I'm Angie and I love Great Adventure all the way. Although I haven't been to the park for as many years as many of the other people on Greatadventurehistory, I share the hard love we all have for the park. The rest of my family would never ride a coaster, so I roam the park alone, and I'll meet random people and make temporary friends! You might meet me at the park one day:)
  13. I'm not sure what just happened. I think my iPod touch just crashed and posted several versions of the original post. Sorry!! ;/
  14. RMCs are great, new, and very popular at the moment, but really, they're just steel coasters with bundles wood thrown in there. Why not just build a reliable steel coaster without killing so many trees? Yes, wooden coasters are cheaper, but steel coasters tend to age a little better, needing less refurbs. Visitors should also enjoy El Toro. An RMC would shorten El Toro's life. Yes. Agreed:) as I've said before, wing riders ar really just another looping B&M. And everyone should know that Great Adventure does not need another old looping B&M. Bring on more innovative Intamins! I'm iffy on RMCs. First of all, I love nature and killing so many trees for a coaster that feels like a steel one is a pity. Keep the wooden fun for more classical woodies. So, in my opinion, I'd go for another Intamin all the way. The park NEEDS one.
  15. Well it's kinda late, with the AWESOME LOOPING DRAGON taking up the spot where there may have been a real coaster.
  16. I feel like launching coasters are simply more fun. They're a newer innovation, and B&M have like no launched coasters. That's why it gets old. I feel like great adventure simply has too many B&Ms that are similar and less innovated. They should get something that they never had, like an LSM multiple launched one. It would add up really well to the coaster collection at Great Adventure.
  17. The designs really do look exciting. Two coasters are nearly impossible though. As long as we get one decent coaster next year, I'll be happy. But, I can imagine how long and expensive the process is for welding and fabricating the pieces of track will be. Space, great adventure does have, and after this money saving year, they should have the money to build something. Six Flags can earn millions just on season bottles! Think about it. Soda is cheap and the bottles (honestly) are also cheaply made. If they sell a bottle for $15, plus refills and reusing, that really adds up! More than half of the attendance all have those lovely cheap bottles! That must be a lot of money!
  18. I hope for an LSM multiple launching coaster built by Intamin, like Maverick or Cheetah hunt. This would definitely benefit the parks collection of coasters. Everyone says that were getting an RMC Or wing rider, but as popular they are at the moment, in he long run, this wouldn't benefit the coasters already existing at the park. Think about it this way. El Toro is already such a wooden thriller. Do they really need another wooden coaster with inversions? Leave that to a new steel coaster. Also, attendance of El Toro would drop with another wooden coaster. A B&M wing coaster does sound cool, but really, it's the same elements as any other B&M but you're next to the track. The appearance of it is just more appealing. Also, this is just a thought. Every time I'm on Nitro, on the lift hill, I can easily peer over to the spot where Batman and Robin the Chiller used to be. The large dome shaped structure with the nasty hand crushing it has stayed there ever since. Why didn't six flags demolish it or take it away when the Chiller was dismantled? Did they plan to use it in a ride that they would later construct? I always look past and think about why the dome should still be there every time I go on Nitro. Well, it keeps curiosity going. Does anyone else have any ideas?
  19. I really hope they can change this. At least make it taller! Their construction probably doesn't even start anytime soon, saying that this ride is expected to open in late spring, but everything in Great Adventure tends to open late, so maybe LATE summer wouldn't surprise me. I do see lots of negativity concerning this ride all over the place and way more than half of the comments are negative. The space between golden Kingdom and plaza del carnaval is big enough for something better than he Looping Dragon. Atleast make it seem more presentable, add some special effects, make it bigger, or th best way is to try something completely different and not build this looping dragon.
  20. I wonder why the rides at Grear Adventure open late. Zumanjaro was late because of construction and is a decent sized project, so it does have it's reasons. Kingda Ka was late because of harsh winter storms and also had it's reasons. But, think of it this way: Kingda Ka was scheduled to open on the parks 2005 opening date, but it was delayed and opened in mid to late spring. The crew building Kingda Ka worked nonstop all winter whenever they could, and even with a project as big as Kingda Ka, and as complex and intricate, they pulled it off in May. This project could take just a few days if the crew worked as hard as the Kingda Ka crew. Why must it open so late?
  21. I hope that they don't open up golden kingdom to plaza del carnaval. People usually can't find el toro in the beginning and I can ride it 12 times nonstop without a line. If they open up golden kingdom to plaza del carnaval, I can't do that anymore!
  22. With a cheapo ride like this one, especially in the GOLDEN KINGDOM humiliates the entire section of favorites that attract most of the people to the park, and the park lives off of them. Then, they'll consider that a new ride is ALWAYS amazing and end up adding a terrible ride in the best park section. Also, why are so many of the Six Flags parks getting the exact same ride in different themes in he same year? Are they trying to be buddies or something? look at Magic Mountain, getting all those new coasters that we can merely dream about. With this big money saving action, Six Flags better get something taller than Polercoaster(570 feet) and faster that Formula Rossa, but I can see HUGE doubts because this 2015 "attraction" will not attract people and has angered many of it's loyal guests. Unless they get pretty good new custom designed coaster, Great Adventure is on a quick, steady downward spiral.
  23. Okay, I HAVE to reply to this topic. First of all, I am so disappointed in Great Adventure! All these years it's been the same rides over and over again, plus, I had a bad last trip because I lost my season pass on El Toro, which I think is getting more bumpy, but is still very fun. Everyone was thinking that the park would get a new real coaster, and here's this thingy. Well, watch everyone flood into the golden kingdom and no big thrill seeker gets on this thing. The Golden Kingdom is the best part of the park, and they have to ruin it with a terrible small ride that they claim is thrilling and a "coaster". My birthday is always around announcing new rides time and I figured that it really should be the year for a good coaster, but as the time neared; I was so disappointed and this will totally ruin my birthday and scar my hard love for the park. Every time I go to SFGA, there are only three to four rides that I ride--Kingda Ka and El Toro and Zumanjaro and sometimes Nitro. If they don't get a new good (preferably Intamin) coaster next year, I will be seriously miserable.
