  1. With the Frontier Adventures Skyway station open, I wonder if this could mean the possibility of a new themed section for Frontier Adventures and opening Bizarro and Runaway Mine Train during Holiday in the Park in later years. RMT goes over water so it may not be able to run in colder weather despite being an Arrow but if Bizarro's flame effect still work, I wonder if the heat from the flames would make more people want to ride it in the cold.

  2. It would be nice if Clementon Park becomes bought by someone that wants to reopen the park even though it's a run down glorified carnival. The park has a lot of history and a lot of memories among several generations. While residential development may look like a nice replacement considering it's right next to a lake, Clementon and its surrounding towns that all share the 08021 zipcode aren't very nice areas to live in especially for families.

  3. I usually don't ride Superman, the line is usually at least a half hour or longer because I find the dispatches to be much slower than other rides in the park (sometimes the dispatches are twice as long as the other coasters in the park - as long as 3 minute dispatches on Superman while other coasters have 45-90 second dispatches) and it occasionally runs only one train here an there, usually after a breakdown. I'd say of all the coasters in the park (minus Harley Quinn and Road Runner Express), Superman is the coaster that runs only one train the most but it doesn't happen on a regular basis. Last time I rode Superman it had a 15 minute line so I decided to go on it.

  4. Definitely go with quality themed attractions at highly themed parks such as Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens, Dollywood, etc Theming can be expensive so I think rides that immerse the guests are how those parks should go. For Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks, I'd say they should add more theming to their newer additions but still go quantity. Some of the newer Cedar Fair coasters such as Mystic Timbers, Copperhead Strike , and the two RMCs have theming even if it's not at the level of Disney but it's better than having a generic ride with a random name slapped to it (looking at Hersheypark especially).

I never bring my phone in the park, but I think it's dumb that they don't allow you to bring keys or a wallet on the ride even if it is in a zippered pocket. I totally understand the phone risk because someone could still take it out during the ride, but no one is going to be taking out their keys or wallet on the ride. It's stupid and just an excuse for them to make more money from people renting lockers

I think the reason they also don't allow guests to bring keys and wallets on rides because the park don't want guests to lose keys and wallets as well. If you lose your keys, you would have a hard time trying to leave the park and if you lose your wallet, you could lose valuables such as a credit card, money, or your driver's license. I wish the park could install pouches under the seats on El Toro and Kingda Ka like what Cedar Fair did to Twisted Timbers and Steel Vengeance.

A very sore Chicago Blackhawks fan and his disrespectful son getting mad at my friends and I for cheering on the Devils at last night’s game. Then he instigates and gets in our faces when Chicago put up a few. Glad the Devs could pull away with the win. To those two: Newark airport is right down the road, enjoy the flight back to Chicago. LGD 😈

Chicago sports fans aren't the worst behaved fans but they can get kind of rowdy at times; not as bad as Philadelphia fans who would climb poles and buildings and other crazy stuff after the Eagles winning Super Bowl 52. Their teams are also popular with bandwagons because of Michael Jordan's two three-peats with the Bulls and the other teams having success.

I heard El Diablo was removed because of a New Jersey state law banning Larson Superloops, but I'm probably wrong.

Clementon Park has one too but it is still operating.

  8. Even though Nitro was reported to have a 90 minute wait, I only waited 20 and managed to ride it again without getting back in line. I actually almost decided to cancel my membership because I had a lot of frustrating trips compared to last season where the park did a lousy job on operations and organization (exception being rides) and going on mostly unnecessarily busy days didn't help. Which is also why I visited less times compared to previous years along with having a Cedar Fair pass and visiting some of their parks. Next time I enter the park and see the lot busier than normal, I'm probably not going to enter the park just not to deal with long lines and poor operations. Great Adventure really needs to get their act together.

So I was driving on 295 in South NJ today, and they were freshly treating the roads with salt, on a 50 degree day with sunshine, no storms in the near forecast, and overnight temps in the 40s, WTH? Guess NJDOT thinks cars aren't rusting out fast enough. Now I will have to take my car to the carwash tomorrow to get that nasty NJ salt off of it. At least PennDOT does seem to be as trigger happy with road salt like NJ is. Took 130 back and despite being slower, it was unsalted. Road salt is a necessary evil that must be used sparingly, not dumped all over like crazy on a whim as it quickly degrades everything.

Road salt should only be used before it snows. NJDOT also recently repaved 295 from Route 42 in Bellmawr to Route 38 in Mt Laurel with smooth asphalt and the salt can wear out the pavement faster.

Parking is now $30 and preferred $50.

It's been like that since August. The prices are probably this high so they don't lose money because of the amount of season pass and membership holders that get free parking.

Whatever Great Adventure gets is going where Freefall used to be. We were in the park last Friday and the surveyor was taking elevation shots in that area and he told us that is where the new ride was going. Its a pretty decent sized area around 4 acres. I would put my money on a Giant Discovery, it would be a good fit and would look good swinging out over that whole paved area. Second maybe a Skywarp  or even an S&S Screamin' Swing. Third by a long shot would be a coaster, either a Raptor or Chance (since track was spotted heading this way, but probably going to the port for shipping).

On another note: It would be nice if Six Flags played the national anthem each morning to open the park like the Cedar Fair parks do, just sayin'.....

We're probably going to get a coaster this year, most likely a Raptor. Some rumors about the Chance Morgan track is that it's going to Rye Playland but it's not confirmed.

Also I agree that Six Flags should play the National Anthem at opening. Only went to the park at opening once which was for a class trip and they do nothing during opening. All they do is open the gates and let you go to where you want.

The coaster looks great. Kennywood could use another coaster with inversions besides Sky Rocket. I really like the idea of an whole area themed to a sports team although I'm not a Steelers fan (I live in Steelers territory even though Pittsburgh is 4 1/2 hours away). It should be really successful in Pittsburgh since Steelers are such a big deal there and Kennywood seems more of a locals park compared to a lot of other parks.

I'd like to see something like this tried locally but I don't think it would work as well with Great Adventure and Dorney both getting so many visitors either New York or Philadelphia sports fans. It would be the same with Hershey and also the addition of Baltimore and Washington D.C. sports fans.

SFNE has a restaurant called JB's Smokehouse that is themed to all 4 Boston teams even though Connecticut tends to support New York teams especially west of Hartford and New Haven.

Small, local parks seem ideal in having a sports themed area except if they are in a market where they have two professional teams for the same sport such as NYC and LA. A sponsorship with a team can be acceptable too. I could see as park like Worlds of Fun have a Chiefs or Royals themed area as they are a big deal there but not really Six Flag America as they are near the border separating Ravens, O's and Redskins, Nats territory unless they do something related to the Capitals or Wizards.

  13. Most rides I had on Toro in a single day was 24. I could do more but I also marathon Nitro as well and crowds can affect how many rides I get too. This year I only have around 25 Nitro Rides and 15 El Toro rides in only three trips because I kinda don't like how the park and company is run this year and I have Cedar Fair passes this year as well. I'd rather visit Cedar Fair parks more than Six Flags parks.

Also, I watch Millenniumforce on YouTube as well. His footage for roller coasters and trains are great and I am a bit of a train enthusiast as well.

And the saddest one is CBS Philly (and any other Philly media that did the same). The tallest coaster is in their region!!

They literally said that the coaster is 205 feet tall in the broadcast as well. It's very misleading when they called Steel Vengeance the tallest and fastest when Kingda Ka is literally an hour away (you can sometimes see Philly on the top of Zumanjaro and Nitro).

That's been the policy for years for all the major coasters then last year it changed at Kingda Ka, El Toro and Joker to not allow any items even if they are in a button or zippered pocket.

I have yet to see a security guard stand at the entrance for The Joker telling riders the no phones/keys rule that is done at El Toro.

I'm going to the park on this Sunday, what is the weather for this Sunday?

It's gonna be partly cloudy with a high of 56.

Good thing about today is that overall operations have improved drastically since my last visit; basically "back to normal". There were more employees, food lines were shorter, more places were open, and rides weren't breaking down too much. Park surprisingly wasn't too crowded despite the nice weather.
