  1. This is how I see this resulting: Pros: -New ideas spread from combined company -Potentially better park atmosphere with Cedar Fair onboard -Larger investments could be made down the line as Cedar Fair has done with their big parks -Season Tickets may be more valuable if they include access to more parks Cons: -Less competition usually comes with less innovation and less investments (new rides and overall park improvement will just need to happen to keep guests coming back, where as these investments in the past were partially made in order to get people to go to Great Adventure instead of Dorney) -Can Great Adventure and Dorney coexist in this new merger? -Are the future additions that were planned at Great Adventure not happening now? They were just turning the corner with the 2024 additions and looked like they were going strong for 2025. I think this is a positive move for the company, but not for the guests. It will take a few years to see the major results of this, so I guess we will have to see what happens!
  2. I like the idea of incorporating it into the Pine Barrens area, as it is sitting in an area that’s not themed at all. After researching the Jersey Devil and assuming the ride will be painted blue like the new trains, I think they should rename Nitro to “Blue Hole”. The Blue Hole is said to be “Located deep in the Pine Barrens of Winslow, on the border of Camden and Gloucester Counties, this small but legendary pool is said to not only be bottomless, but also a frequent pit stop of the Jersey Devil”. https://weirdnj.com/stories/legends-of-the-blue-hole/ It would be awesome if they changed this name and continued the Pine Barrens theme into the Nitro area, as it would be unique to this park and the area. Also, the name would not be too odd, as Alton Towers in the UK has a ride named “Black Hole”. I love the name Nitro but just an idea!
  3. I really like what Six Flags has done for this park in 2024 as well as some of the additions to the other Six Flags parks for next season. They have hit quite a few of those Great ADVENTure Calendar wishes. I do like the placement of the ride, as it looks like no other rides are being removed for it. Looks like the station may be placed in the picnic area.
  4. Went to the rides tab of Great Adventure’s website and saw this! https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/attractions/the-flash-vertical-velocity
  5. This is the best time, the night before the announcement (rumored to be tomorrow) with anticipation at its highest. We went from talking in 2009 about if Roller Thunder would still be here, to the markers showing up, to thinking we were getting Busch Gardens Drachen Spire planned but not built ride based on the conference call wording, to getting the clues which make it sound like the first Vekoma Super Boomerang in the US. Gotta give some credit to the post I tagged above as it seems like these will be part of the new for 2024 additions.
  6. There are two 60 mph in that clue - The Vekoma Super Boomerang is 95 km/h (~59 mph). Just interesting how they were using metric for all the other clues and imperial for this one.
  7. I’ve seen a lot of people on social media mentioning that the Vekoma Super Boomerang has a footprint of 163 x 13 meters, which lines up exactly with the end of the equation. As for the 180 + 24, some people have mentioned and hoped that means a turntable that spins 180 degrees with a 24 passenger train on it. If it’s not a Super Boomerang, they trolled us real well. Excited for this as well as all the other improvements, only a few days away!
  8. Yea I’d now be shocked if it isn’t a Vekoma Super Boomerang that is yellow themed to The Flash, although it would be a nice nod if they themed it to Mr. Freeze or The Chiller. Things I’m curious about is if it will have a turntable or not, it’s exact placement in that plot of land, and if anything has to be removed for it, such as Cyborg.
  9. Those Super Boomerangs look like they give great hang-time, while providing the park with a tamer launching rollercoaster than Kingda Ka that also launches backwards. If the location is next to Cyborg/Justice League, it will help connect the entrance to that side of the park. I’ve heard great things about the new Vekoma coasters. Will be a great nod to The Chiller (imagine they put 2 next to each other, just like they used to be). And perhaps they’ll put a new large scale attraction by the Northern Star Arena some point down the line, as this was a last minute addition. There are still a lot of unknowns about this project.
  10. That 436 seems very telling, as the Vekoma Super Boomerang is that exact length in meters, as they advertise. I do wonder how this fits in with the answer to how the CapEx increased from a “range of like 150 to 200. And now you're up to like 250”, which was said to be related to this “opportunity to add a nice ride kind of late in the game”. Maybe this coaster does cost that much with a turntable added. Looking forward to seeing if the next teasers line up with this coaster theory.
  11. Maybe that’s for different future attraction being planned, as this coaster sounds like a “last minute” addition (I’m not trying to be greedy with new large scale projects, just a thought).
  12. I just feel like whatever coaster it is, it will go in that entrance area since they teased that section twice and there are already markers there.
  13. I wonder how that layout fits at Great Adventure / if the current markings line up with that layout.
  14. I listened to that whole conference, and it was worth it just for that minute they talked about GAdv. Seems like the ride was not designed specifically for this park, which is interesting to hear. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was that Busch Gardens planned ride that was posted here, as Six Flags is rumored to be working with Intamin again and they may have presented this opportunity to them. Imagine that launch going right by the entrance with a spike where the parachutes are located. I do wonder if this would be repetitive with Kingda Ka, but going backwards on a spike would certainly be unique for this park (and allow Great Adventure to possibly one up Cedar Point once again like they did with Kingda Ka in 2005).
  15. I kept trying to figure out if something was actually missing. Hopefully coaster track is the answer. Seems like all the teasers for this project are tweets that end in “…”. Keep on posting GAdv.
  16. As I wrote yesterday, I thought they meant the markers when they said “leave your mark…”!
  17. Time to dissect every clue! Loved doing that with the JDC teasers (which the park did a fantastic job with). I wonder if the “mark” they are referring to are the marks all over the front entrance and Metropolis Area.
  18. I believe they used to say the date that they were announcing their new additions for the next year. Does this mean that there are no new additions next year, does it mean that Six Flags isn’t announcing all of their additions on the same day anymore, or am I just reading too much into it ?
  19. Was yesterday media day? If so, does anyone have a video of John Winkler and Kristin Fitzgerald talking?
  20. Question for those who have ridden The Devil: I have been worried about people saying that the restraints on the Raptors are very uncomfortable (they dig into you during airtime moments). Did they feel uncomfortable during the ride or did the lower intensity of the ride help counteract that?
  21. I honestly get it. Why open a new ride when you can’t attract more attendance. I really hope that they can use the extra time to add theming. It would make the wait worth it.
  22. I'm just happy that we got this coaster and it has been partially been built before the pandemic. I think future investments in the chain are uncertain at this time, so getting this big investment of a coaster right beforehand was a win.
  23. Yea, I just contacted guest relations and they confirmed that the safari opening is not considered the theme park re-opening and that the days will continue to stack. Now that I know that, I think this is a great idea. Bring back the nostalgia, keep social distancing, make some money, and give people something to do.
  24. Do we know if this counts as the park being “open” in regards to season passes? They said that every day/month the park is closed, you get a day/ month in 2021. I would be upset if this counts as being open because the theme park isn’t open and I paid for a pass so that I could ride rollercoasters.
  25. Does anyone know if these restraints are different than Wonder Woman's in Fiesta Texas?
