  1. I'm hoping to be there as well. I hope crowds are on the lighter side. I can't believe closing day is less than 2 weeks ago and then we have around 5 months of no coaster riding :( I really hope we are the next park to get Holiday In the Park to make the offseason even shorter.

  2. I voted for Love It. It's my 3rd favorite coaster in the park after Nitro and Batman. I like how there is nothing like it around anywhere else locally (I don't really travel to many parks) and it's just a fun ride. My only complaints are I wish it was a little bit longer of a ride and the crazy line it usually has. I only will wait up to 20 minutes for it so on those days where I can stay on for multiple re-rides, I take advantage and ride as much as I can.

  3. Just like how the skyscraper was lot was vacant at Dorney up until Voodoo was built. Although I am annoyed that a coaster hasn't been gained since 2001 with Talon (since in 2003 Hercules was removed for Hydra and with Voodoo we are losing Laser), Cedar Fair really has added a lot to the park in 15 years

1993 was White Water Landing, 1994 was Thunder Canyon and Road Rally, 1995 and 1996 I am not sure about, 1997 Steel Force, 1998 Hangtime, 1999 Dominator, 2000 Wild Mouse and Camp Snoopy, 2001 Talon, 2002 Meteor, 2003 10 new water slides, 2004 Revolution, 2005 Hydra, 2006 2nd Wave Pool, 2007 Aqua Racer, 2008 Voodoo.

The haven't announced 2009 plans yet.

As for it running 2 trains, I have heard of it happening but in all my visits in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 (48) total, I have never seen it run more than 1 train.

  4. Yeah it's operating schedule has been kind of random for the past month. Someone on DorneyOnline said it is being operated on a day to day basis. I went on Sunday the 5th and it was closed the entire time I was there. I plan to go 1 or 2 more times and it's very fusturating knowing I might have had my final Laser ride in August.

As much as I am going to miss the ride, it really doesn't work well in Dorney. It takes about 5 minutes for each cycle and with 1 train running, it makes the line move slow where a 3 train wait can be 15+ minutes. 1 person checking restraints and added seatbelts make it worse.

  5. Thanks for the review! Last year I went to their Halloween event but I thought it was sort of low-key. I think part of the problem was we went on a Sunday night so some of the scarier things weren't open. The new Haunt does sound much more elaborate and "edgier" as they advertised.

Yeah, the 8:00 closing on Sunday's last year meant just the indoor houses were open. That meant crowds were almost non existant every Sunday in 2006 and 2007 though which was nice. This year they are open until 10:00 so I am not sure how that will affect crowds but during the day this past Sunday the lines for the coasters were all under 5 minutes except Thunderhawk.

  6. . It's ashame nothing like this is in our Park these days (Big Red Cars are too small to count) A Car Ride and a Train Ride would fit in Great with the Family Ent. Shapiro and company want's for Six Flag's nowaday's, and I don't think they are too costly to install either.

I agree, that's why I don't understand why at SFMM they removed the antique cars for a kiddie land (Thomas Town). They get rid of a family ride and add stuff only for little kids. Not exactly my idea of catering to families (more like catering to little kids)

  7. I wish they would have kept the ride or added a newer type of car ride. The park is really lacking in tranquil rides and this is the perfect ride the whole family can enjoy.

  8. Thanks for the info, it really didn't seem like it was that many. I guess the park is so big even that many people still made it feel empty.

I just read on another site the park closed at 4:00 today and he said it was so empty he rode ET 3 times in a row in the front seat. I just checked the website and it still says they are open until 10:00 tonight! I know hours are subject to change without notice but you would expect them to change the website like they usually do like 3 weeks ago when they closed at 2:00 due to the horrible storm. What if someone checked the site at 5:00 and saw 10:00 and figured they had a few hours to go to the park only to find out it closed.

  9. I think the park should have told anyone that called was that it is very possible or likely that they will be closing early. That way people expected it and didn't have to drive up to the park only to be turned away or only get in a few rides before they had to leave.

The number of visitors at the park last night that I overheard today from one of the area managers was less than 500 guests.

I wish they gave the exact number since it really felt like it hardly anyone was there to the point that you kept running into the same people various times throughout the day and recgonized almost everyone you saw, it wouldn't surprise me to find out it was less than half of that.

  10. I even called before I left and asked if the park was going to be open and what the time the park would be open. They said it would be open and be open from 5 - 10. I agree that had to have known hardly anyone would show up. I guess they figured it wasn't worth it to run the coasters with single digit riders (and in most cases less than 5 riders) on basically everything except El Toro which didn't even have half full trains but they didn't want to tell people they were closing the park due to attendance. I am satisfied with the amount of rides I did get in that short time but it would have been nice to stay until 10:00.
