  1. Charging for a multipark ticket is the only way it will work.

I mean I understand where they are coming from, but I don't like the idea at all and I am a huge supporter of anything Universal/IOA.I really would just rather they keep everything in one park.Hollywood's Potter is reportedly going to be announced tomorrow so maybe something about Orlando will be said as well.

  2. So the word going around is that Jaws and Amity will be replaced with the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Phase 2.I've heard a few different things, one being it will connect both parks by the Hogwarts Express and Amity being the London/Diagon Alley part of the HUGE area and that they will still take over Lost Continent and expand there as well and possibly make Sinbad a Gringotts attraction.

But I have heard that they may charge you for a Multipark ticket to get into both which I hope is not the case.

But whatever does happen, this project will be massive.

  3. I'm wondering if that will become home to some kind of Transformers attraction(s). There's room enough where Jaws stands to build a sizable attraction or two...maybe even a new coaster.

The way things have been going at Universal, they could be really building momentum and have multiple new attractions coming.

Transformers is my only guess to what would be going in that area,Amity is a pretty big part of the back of the park so Transformers ride building in the Jaws ride footprint then a total re-theme of Amity I guess is what will happen. They will need to find a new place to put the 8th house for HHN now with the Jaws extended que now being demolished.

Universal/Islands will never take over for most visited park in Orlando but they definitely do have the momentum going for them.

  4. The expansion in Orlando won't be to far behind it to knock off any hype of Avatar land at Disney.I'm hearing that the new major attraction added to the WWOHP Phase 2 expansion will be even better than Forbidden Journey.

Universal will be upgraded soon as well, the major boost in revenue from Harry Potter will definitely be reinvested into the property.

But this isn't surprising that this is happening, they are looking to make a dollar anyway possible and this will put Uni Hollywood ahead of any California park with that and Transformers.

  5. Thats nothing, Universal changes things every year. GADV has done some changes to FF in recent years and they all stink. If they did replace DMP it would probably be with something super lame and then FF would be a total joke. I know alot of people like change but I don't because change is almost always for the worst.

Universal is in a whole different league than everyone else and isn't fair to compare really.Universal has it's own team called A&D (Art & Design) plan out all the Holiday events.Grinchmas,Thanksgiving,Macy's and by far their biggest event which is planned years in advance each year has a HUGE budget that Six flags will never see honestly.HHNs budget is probably what all of next year's additions cost combined.

But DMP is basically Six Flags staple of a show like HHN does with Bill & Ted's,both have a big following and can't wait to see it every year.I don't really get it though,DMP is the same every year.Change isn't always bad,but as the years go on I can see FF improving as they get more budget and really study other park's Haunt events. But until then I will never spend $7 for those "trails"

  6. I agree that The Thing was the weakest haunted house this year but even that one I thought was far from being a dud. Sadly HHN can be very crowded, much more crowded than during the day. Also they usually do not have all the normal rides open, this year only five rides are open during HHN, Mummy, Rock It, Jaws, MIB, and ugg The Simpsons. Last year I had to wait 30 min in the Express pass line for some of the houses, stand by lines were about two hours. This year I didn't have to wait even 20 min in the normal stand by lines. I think alot of it had to do with the weather, it was unusually cool that day and it looked like it was going to rain during the early part of the day. Then it cleared off but a strong cool breeze kicked up and lasted all night. HHNs are normally pretty warm.

I went opening weekend and it was actually pretty busy for it raining/looking like it was going to rain both nights.Set wise the Thing did not let down, just scare factor wasn't there at all and something else with an original concept could have been put there instead like a Lady Luck type of house

  7. Just wondering......Are the lines for the rollercoasters at Dorney Park tend to be long on weekends? Also, at Dorney do they often times only run one train on each ride like some smaller parks do?

Except for the wild mouse, every coaster yesterday was running one train and it was pretty busy.

  8. If anyone is here either today or on Saturday, I will be working at the Cables (not sure which end, although I'm normally assigned to Western) for the majority of the park's hours on both days. If you happen to see an attendant with "Matthew" on the nametag, feel free to say that you're from the forum and I will be sure to acknowledge you in return! Perhaps I will be your catcher and/or loader for FrightFest? :P

Sorry bro, that ride just overall is awful to work.Does Western still play that annoying music in the station?

  9. I been going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for years and it is very fun and cool. Anymore I prefer it over Universal's HHN because of all the damn smoking drunks anymore.

I was at HHN this weekend,a lot of bars were taken away and only a few bars were scattered through the park.I did not encounter one real drunk person and smoking wasn't bad at all.Even if people are drunk who cares just ignore them like I did past years. It is seriously the best Halloween event in the world by far and always will be,the houses just leave you speechless afterwards with the detail and everything that goes into them.

  10. I think the Flying Wave pad is a really bad location for a tall tower like that. I would much rather see another Flying Wave placed there. Flying Wave is also more fun. There is nothing "thrilling" about SkyScreamer. Since it doesn't tilt like Flying Wave, it is just a boring swing that goes around in a circle, and that big metal tower sticking up out of that spot is going to be ugly as sin.

    Can't pleas em' all

  11. I think the other two will be staying, (Asylum & Forest), but we have not heard anything official yet.

The new maze looks cool, too bad they are still making the mazes an upcharge.

They have to find some way to squeeze every penny they can out of guests cake-surprise.gif

  12. First of all, I am not blaming the people's not returing directly on the ride being dismantled, but it just seems like the park has been less crowded, and I have actually heard people say that they haven't returned since it has been dismantled. And, the new technology isn't anything in specific either. I am not saying it is anything extraordinarilly new are works 100% of the time(ALL rides have downtime...), but just the way that technology has progressed over the years, fixing the problems that came up and preventing them could become a lot easier. Also, just to add, the ride doesn't need to be a LIM launch, right? We COULD have launch wheels or have something pull them forward instead of LIM's, this way reducing the total possibility of an error occuring. But, there are numerous ways to gain money for this park to get the ride just right, and in the long run, the ride MIGHT even bring in more money than there is now...

And, since when has Maverick ever had tons of downtime? I clearly don't live there, but every time we have gone, it hasn't been down at all during the day. And, we go a lot actually, because we go to visit people there a lot. If I am jsut missing something with this ride, please inform me.

Dude you can say how they can improve it as much as you want, but it is never coming back.Sorry kiddocake-surprise.gif

  13. Being a former employee,I can tell you all from experience that a majority of those who work at the park do not care about what guests do at the park. When I was a Lead I took my job seriously along with my friends/co-workers in Management and we did what we could but still it comes down to Security being called and dealing with it,Ride Ops has little power to do anything about cutting or any park rules that are being violated.

You can't really blame the Team Members though, they are getting paid minimum wage and a lot of minors (16,17 year olds and the first job for a lot)do you really think they want to risk end up having to defend themselves against a 30 year old gang member from NY/Philly that is threatening them or such? No.I was the same way when I started,16 going on 17 and the cons of enforcing something was not worth the pro's in those situations.Plus the paperwork that has to go along with it was a pain in the ass.

Last year at Nitro after I moved there from the Cables we dealt with A LOT of problems that you guys have all talked about. We did what we could, for example we would get done checking the train and wait for the train we sent out to clear the lift to dispatch,so we would monitor the line for any kind of line cutting. It worked and had plenty kicked out of the park.Other times people would get away with it and not because of us,but because Security would never show up to even do anything about it so basically what I'm saying is the people who are supposed to do the enforcing of the rules, don't do anything but hide when they can in A/C.I'm by no means saying that all of them are bad, because they're not,but some should not have jobs doing what they are doing and making the most starting pay then anybody in the park.Having them sit in line in those lifeguard chairs would definitely help and scare some cutters off,but to actually think the park would pay them to do that, not going to happen. They barely even let the ride operators sit down.

Oh and believe me,there is probably still plenty of tickets to be used on busy days.In the end, will Line Cutting ever go away? No.Can they help cut it down?Easily so.Will they do anything about it?Not anymore so than they're doing now.

Edit:If anyone ever has questions about working at the park,PM me and I would be more than happy to answer questions about what it's like or anything.

  14. Offcourse the new GM would come from f'in Freestyle Music Park! A FAILED theme park! He probably got hires because after Freestyle Music Park FAILED he was out of a job and is now willing to get any job he can get. I think its quite obvious our park is now SCREWED.

Shame on you SF management. So you might of had to pay Kane more than this new guy, but Kane was genuinly your BEST employess. When I think of SF employees only 4 employees come to mind that I consider Disney quality. If any of the 4 are reading I would like to thank MArk AKne, Young from PArachutes, Mike AMrtorella from rides and I forget his name, but the security guard in front of Nitro who does MAgic tricks. Such a shame. i just met Kane last week and he was talking about how happy he was to be at his HOME park. I think this new management will be MUCH WORSE than Premier. I might as well just move to FLorida now and syick to Disney.

You know, most people think the reason Disney is so sucessful is because it's Disney. While that's part of it, it doesnt hurt that they have had the same STABLE anagement for over 50 years!

Possibly the worst post I have ever read on this site.Just so you know, the reason Hard Rock and Freestyle Music Park failed was because of the awful location, not because of the park's management.

This isn't the end of the world, calm down.
