  1. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Can't wait to see what all you guys have yet to show us!
  2. It's been a couple of seasons since I've ridden Xcalibur so my memory is a little fuzzy but I'm pretty sure that's the same music played on the ride. If not then it's very close to it.
  3. I really like this map! It's much more accurate. As a first-timer to the park the 2008 map was 100% confusing! I almost never found my way out of The Golden Kingdom because I kept looking at the map, then looking up at structures around me that weren't on the map at all, and wondering where I was supposed to go. The area around Wiggles World is better represented, too. I remember trying to go from Skull Mountain to Nitro. The map showed a clear path from one to the other, but in practice I kept running into dead ends and kiddie rides. I think there was a bridge in there at some point, too. None of this was shown on the map! It didn't help that Skull Mountain exits right in the middle of Wiggles World.
  4. Surprisingly they did install audio on the ride when they brought it here to SFSTL! Each car has it's own speaker and it really adds a lot to the overall ride experience. I agree, 29yrs, Evolution/Xcalibur is a pretty mellow ride. It's bark is much worse than it's bite! I've read a few comments where people say more than any other this is the ride they wish GA still had, but honestly you're not missing much. It's a fun ride, definitely, but I'd sacrifice it in a heartbeat for an El Toro or a Nitro lol.
  5. Hi everybody! I got to visit Great Adventure for the first time in August of 2008. I was blown away when I came across GAH - I wish all of my favorite parks had such comprehensive sites dedicated to their history! You guys do a great job - your love of the park shines through. I've been scouring the spotlights the last few days and decided I had to join the forums if for no other reason than to say job well done! Check out my about me for my history with Great Adventure, it started long before I ever got to actually visit the place. Hopefully I can bring an outsider's perspective on the park, or maybe ask questions those who grew up with the park wouldn't think of. As I say in my about me, my experience with the park is limited, but my interest isn't.
