The Trip

On January 14th, I drove up to my friend Marc's house in Montreal. We've planning this trip for a while. The idea was for us two to fly out of Montreal to Paris and meet up with his cousin Alex at the airport, and his friend Louis was going to pick us up, drive us around, etc. Basically that is what happened, but it was the background to the trip, so deal...

January 15th, 2008

Disneyland Paris

I don't feel like typing the entire day, being there are so many pictures that it's self explanatory. So enjoy.

DainansEurope2009001.jpg

This trip report is brought to you by blurry Airplane yogurt.

DainansEurope2009002.jpg

Marc and I on the plane from Montreal to Paris.

DainansEurope2009004.jpg

Here we are finally in Europe. It amazed me how much shorter the flight was, than my drive to Montreal...

DainansEurope2009005.jpg

Here's Louis, who picked us up and was an excellent host.

DainansEurope2009010.jpg

Driving down the road, we saw our first sign of Disneyland Paris.

DainansEurope2009012.jpg

We parked here, because it's closer than the parking lot for the parks.

DainansEurope2009018.jpg

...and this is where I started hyperventilating.

DainansEurope2009023.jpg

Yea, I'm so gangsta, don't be hating

DainansEurope2009024.jpg

My friend Emmanuel (and his friend Maxime) were waiting for us inside the park.

DainansEurope2009026.jpg

Disneyland's Castle?

DainansEurope2009029.jpg

Sleeping Beauty's Castle is definitely the best Disney castle I've ever seen.

DainansEurope2009031.jpg

We headed into Discoveryland for our first credit...

DainansEurope2009033.jpg

...Space Mountain!!!! I've waited 14 years to ride this (no lie, I have).

DainansEurope2009037.jpg

So this is like a Super Nova or something...

DainansEurope2009038.jpg

The Columbiad is what blasts you into space.

DainansEurope2009039.jpg

They were only running two trains. The ride was very rough, but I still loved it. Out of the entire trip, we rode it 4 times.

DainansEurope2009042.jpg

First meal of the trip, PIZZA BURGER! It looks so wrong, but it tasts so right...

DainansEurope2009045.jpg

Seriously, wow!

DainansEurope2009049.jpg

Going into Frontierland...

DainansEurope2009051.jpg

...to find Big Thunder Mountain closed

DainansEurope2009053.jpg

So we went over to Phantom Manor.

DainansEurope2009055.jpg

Love it! Love it! Love it!

DainansEurope2009062.jpg

Then we went all the way over to Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril.

DainansEurope2009061.jpg

Seems to be running fine.

DainansEurope2009065.jpg

Until we were next and it broke! We left and did it again at night (but I didn't take pictures of it, so oh well).

DainansEurope2009066.jpg

They did a great job on theming.

DainansEurope2009068.jpg

Exiting out of Disneyland to go to...

DainansEurope2009070.jpg

...Walt Disney Studios!

DainansEurope2009073.jpg

It was hands down my least favorite Disney park I've ever been to.

DainansEurope2009074.jpg

hmm...where have I seen this before?

DainansEurope2009078.jpg

This way to Crush's Coaster!

DainansEurope2009079.jpg

Marc, Louis and I inline for Crush

DainansEurope2009082.jpg

Crush's Coaster was allright. They had terrible operations, but the ride was okay. Not worth a wait over 10 minutes.

DainansEurope2009086.jpg

Construction photo zomfg!

DainansEurope2009087.jpg

Out of the three Tower's I've ridden, this was my least favorite (I've never ridden California's)

DainansEurope2009089.jpg

Nice garden, eh?

DainansEurope2009093.jpg

The boiler room wasn't as good as Florida's...

DainansEurope2009094.jpg

Next up, Rock N Roller Coaster.

DainansEurope2009096.jpg

It's a clone of Florida's, except for going to a concert, you're at a concert.

DainansEurope2009100.jpg

We saw Moteurs Action! Which was really cool.

DainansEurope2009104.jpg

Afterwards, we went back to Disneyland

DainansEurope2009105.jpg

The group outside of Space Mountain. Alex, me, Emmanuel, Marc, Louis and Maxime.

DainansEurope2009106.jpg

This is the last picture before my battery died. After we did Space Mountain again, we did a few dark rides, and got all the credits at Disney before leaving. It was probably the best Disney visit I've ever had. And the park was basically empty. There were times where we'd walk from one attraction to another and we'd see no guests. It was awesome.

n676415273_5588481_6921.jpg

We'll finish with me at the Creperie, where you get all you can eat crepes!

Cool pics of Disneyland Paris! I would like to go there some day. What was the weather there like? Looks like their is ice in front of BTM :Snowman: . CA's Tower of Terror looks just like the Paris version in your pics, even the boiler room. Space Mt station looks alot like the station for California Screamin's station in DCA, I am surprised it is outdoors like that.

^^I guess It's A Small World. But my favorite attraction was Le Taniere Du Dragon =)

^It was pretty cold there. Snowy and rainy the entire trip

Wow I am surprised they can keep the park open during such cold weather. Even Disneyland closed down 2 hours early on a cold rainy night and it was still above 40 for their low, SoCal almost never drops below freezing.

Phantasialand

DainansEurope2009111.jpg

On January 16th, we woke up at Louis and Marc's friend Stéphanie's apartment in Luxembourg.

DainansEurope2009111.jpg

Luxembourg will be our home for the next three days.

DainansEurope2009114.jpg

Because there were 5 of us at this point. Louis, Alex and I were crammed in the back of Stéphanie's car.

DainansEurope2009118.jpg

When we crossed into Germany. Louis and I bought this interesting snack. It was very good.

DainansEurope2009121.jpg

Turbines everywhere!!!!!!!

DainansEurope2009123.jpg

Sorry to disappoint, but this isn't a real castle!

DainansEurope2009124.jpg

Here we are at Phantasialand. Where the parking lot hat more people than Disneyland Resort Paris the day before!

DainansEurope2009127.jpg

Um...what?

DainansEurope2009127.jpg

There Main Street was really pretty

DainansEurope2009130.jpg

These characters are a part of Phantasialand's winter celebration.

DainansEurope2009131.jpg

Construction photo! ooOOooh

DainansEurope2009132.jpg

First up, Wuze Town.

DainansEurope2009133.jpg

Sadly, this is the only photo I have of Winjas. Which is easily the most awesome ride ever! I'm not going to ruin anything about it, but there are some cool surprises.

DainansEurope2009136.jpg

Next up, the indoor Vekoma mine train type coaster thingy

DainansEurope2009137.jpg

The ride was pretty long, and interesting.

DainansEurope2009141.jpg

Up next, Hollywood Tour

DainansEurope2009151.jpg

My pictures didn't come out good. But it was some messed up boat ride!

DainansEurope2009152.jpg

At least this one is still here, and not on fire!

DainansEurope2009155.jpg

I will obsess for a moment about the theming of Phantasialand.

DainansEurope2009156.jpg

WwWOoO0owW ZoMfG!!!!1!!11!1!!11

DainansEurope2009157.jpg

Alex was impressed, and took some pictures as well.

DainansEurope2009160.jpg

Black Mamba didn't open yet, so we kept on walking.

DainansEurope2009161.jpg

It just looks so good! And it was!

DainansEurope2009164.jpg

We were hungry so kept walking by Colorado Adventure

DainansEurope2009163.jpg

So cool

DainansEurope2009167.jpg

Who knew China was in Germany?

DainansEurope2009169.jpg

I'm that much of a nerd!

DainansEurope2009170.jpg

But so is Louis

DainansEurope2009173.jpg

Stéphanie, me, Marc, Louis, and Alex at the awesome Chinese resteraunt

DainansEurope2009172.jpg

That had the best beer I've ever had!

DainansEurope2009174.jpg

Feng Ju Palace is a Vekoma Mad House

DainansEurope2009175.jpg

The theming was pretty good, but the ride itself wasn't that good. Houdini's Great Escape was alot better.

DainansEurope2009179.jpg

Mystery Castle

DainansEurope2009180.jpg

Mystery Castle was friggin awesome! It's an indoor Intamin Air compressed tower!

DainansEurope2009183.jpg

They made me (the token Yank) take a picture in the American section. Har har

DainansEurope2009184.jpg

River Quest froze over, so now you can ice skate on it!

DainansEurope2009185.jpg

"Pandas, calling me, from the bamboo trees to play with me!"

DainansEurope2009187.jpg

"Mommy mommy! I want to ride Michael Jackson!"

DainansEurope2009189.jpg

They were running two trains, and not stacking. This made me happy.

DainansEurope2009192.jpg

Time for Black Mamba

DainansEurope2009195.jpg

The icy queue with no banisters. That didn't make me nervous or anything...

DainansEurope2009197.jpg

They were only running one train. So the line was a little longer than it should have been.

DainansEurope2009204.jpg

The station was dark and very well themed! The ride was incredibly smooth and forcefull. It's awesome!

DainansEurope2009207.jpg

Dainan aproved!

DainansEurope2009210.jpg

These guys were really cool as well.

DainansEurope2009214.jpg

Talocan was my first floorless Top Spin. And it was painfull, but totally awesome!

DainansEurope2009217.jpg

Chocolate covered bananas! I totally love this park!

DainansEurope2009217.jpg

Silbermine was the most screwed up Mexican themed dark ride ever!

DainansEurope2009222.jpg

WTF!!!!

DainansEurope2009224.jpg

So, if you thought this place was beautiful in the day! It was evern better at night!

n1620330101_93083_6450.jpg

Yes, that's Alex and I. (Photo taken by Stéphanie)

DainansEurope2009229.jpg

I LOVE there costumes!

DainansEurope2009231.jpg

This was on the back of her skirt!

DainansEurope2009237.jpg

Good bye Phantasialand. Thank you for the awesome day!

Looks like alot of these European parks stay open during the cold of winter when most US parks close down. I doubt I could stand riding coasters in the cold, ice, and snow like that.

^I've done that in Europe and in Asia!

Then again, I've ridden Nitro in the snow

When did you ride Nitro in the snow? I have been to GAdv at times when they closed down early because of unusually cold temps with no snow. Usually GAdv is not even open during the normal snow season around here, Jan-Mar. Anyway cool pictures of Phantasialand, that Hollwood rides looks weird LOL.

Toverland

DainansEurope2009239.jpg

After driving over four hours from Luxembourg, through Belgium, to The Netherlands, we finally stopped at a Burger King

DainansEurope2009241.jpg

Conveniently next to a Texaco!

DainansEurope2009242.jpg

Interesting...

DainansEurope2009243.jpg

It may look innocent, but the mayo is AWESOME!

DainansEurope2009244.jpg

Driving down the deserted rode, we pray for salvation!

DainansEurope2009245.jpg

And then we see it!

DainansEurope2009251.jpg

Welcome to Toverland

DainansEurope2009250.jpg

It has a bit of an interesting look to it!

DainansEurope2009258.jpg

First order of business...

DainansEurope2009257.jpg

TROY!!!!!!!

DainansEurope2009265.jpg

Seriously, just look at that beauty!

DainansEurope2009262.jpg

Marc and I before my first ride on Troy!

n792689571_2017706_1220.jpg

The photo tells it all!

DainansEurope2009299.jpg

Me and my 2nd favorite coaster in the world!

DainansEurope2009266.jpg

We did Booster Bike next...

DainansEurope2009267.jpg

It wasn't as good as it looked.

DainansEurope2009272.jpg

As you see, Marc and I are getting the full experience of Vekoma!

DainansEurope2009273.jpg

Though Alex and Stéphanie thought it was fine...

DainansEurope2009275.jpg

Marc challenging his limits on the Towers of Adventure!

DainansEurope2009276.jpg

Until he falls and everything fell out of his pockets to the nets below!

DainansEurope2009278.jpg

Louis had no problem climbing up!

DainansEurope2009282.jpg

It's blurry, but it gives you an idea of how awesome this stupid play structure was...

DainansEurope2009287.jpg

Mirakelroute

DainansEurope2009288.jpg

Boomerang is a Vekoma....but not a Vekoma Boomerang....interesting...

DSC_0077.JPG

This is the only picture I got of Hara Kiri (the wet/dry slide). It was fast and my raft came off the slide on the dips!

DainansEurope2009293.jpg

We go outside to make our way over to...

DainansEurope2009298.jpg

TROY!!!!

DainansEurope2009294.jpg

These are some cool looking trains, eh?

DainansEurope2009304.jpg

Seriously =)

DainansEurope2009305.jpg

...seriously

DainansEurope2009255.jpg

I was the only one to ride Backstroke

DainansEurope2009302.jpg

STOP WATCHING ME!

DSC_0078.JPG

Louis, Marc, Stéphanie, and I trying to pull the Trojan Horse, with no help from Alex!

DainansEurope2009310.jpg

Villa Fiasco was an awesome fun house, with a lot of gags I've never seen in the states!

DainansEurope2009313.jpg

We didn't ride Sim sa la Swing, but I did take a picture of it...

DainansEurope2009315.jpg

I'm so totally confused by this guy and what the hell is he holding!?!?

DainansEurope2009318.jpg

So long Troy! You were so awesome! (It was cold and rainy when we were there, so the ride was FLYING!)

DainansEurope2009330.jpg

We stopped at Quick (in Belgium) for dinner

DainansEurope2009328.jpg

I'm not going to lie, this was probably the best fast-food I've ever had.

DainansEurope2009331.jpg

So, back at Stéphanie's apartment in Luxembourg, Louis passed out and the rest of us played Monopoly. Where Marc kicked all of our butts!

DainansEurope2009333.jpg

Alex has to find food and a way back to Canada!

DainansEurope2009335.jpg

Stéphanie doesn't know what to do!

DainansEurope2009334.jpg

And someone stole my pizza!

Paris

DainansEurope2009342.jpg

On January 18th, we said good bye to Luxembourg and drove back to France.

DainansEurope2009347.jpg

We had a enough Sausage snacks to last us a life time

DainansEurope2009347.jpg

The highway had some random heads on the over pass...

DainansEurope2009346.jpg

The French country side was beautiful

DainansEurope2009353.jpg

Alex: "If we hit a deer here, does that mean we killed Bambi?"

DainansEurope2009353.jpg

Yup, we're here at Davy Crockett's Ranch

DainansEurope2009357.jpg

As you see, it was a ghost town!

DainansEurope2009357.jpg

It was a little strange to be honest

DainansEurope2009357.jpg

It looked like we were at a Six Flags park

DainansEurope2009360.jpg

Though we were only there to get champagne from a friend that was holding it for us.

DainansEurope2009366.jpg

Anyway, back to our day in Paris

DainansEurope2009381.jpg

Notre Dame

DainansEurope2009381.jpg

The following pictures were taken in the back of Louis' car, while he was trying to get a spot.

DainansEurope2009396.jpg

Alex and I were climbing over each other trying to get pictures

DainansEurope2009387.jpg

DainansEurope2009392.jpg

l'Elysee

DainansEurope2009402.jpg

And this is what was left of Alex after he desperately had to go to the bathroom, and he jumped out of the car. We never saw him again....

DainansEurope2009403.jpg

Um....wtf!?

DainansEurope2009406.jpg

The Metro was our friend of the day

DainansEurope2009410.jpg

The Paris Metro reminded me of the DC Metro

DainansEurope2009415.jpg

Um...guys....where are we?

DainansEurope2009412.jpg

L'arc de Triomphe

DainansEurope2009416.jpg

Much bigger than the one at Washington Square Park :P

DainansEurope2009423.jpg

Up-skirt shot

DainansEurope2009419.jpg

Luxembourg, represnt!

DainansEurope2009420.jpg

DainansEurope2009421.jpg

DainansEurope2009416.jpg

The amount of Obama stuff in Paris was really suprising

DainansEurope2009421.jpg

My sister wanted something from Louis Vuitton....so I got her a picture

DainansEurope2009435.jpg

It follows you EVERYWHERE!

DainansEurope2009435.jpg

Um...note taken!

DainansEurope2009432.jpg

Yogurt and cheese as far as the eye can see!

DainansEurope2009436.jpg

And then it rained

DainansEurope2009444.jpg

"Bonjour Asterix! Ca va?"

DainansEurope2009456.jpg

To escape the rain, we went to Galeries Lafayette

DainansEurope2009442.jpg

WOW!

DainansEurope2009441.jpg

Stunning, absolutely stunning

DainansEurope2009448.jpg

DainansEurope2009446.jpg

DainansEurope2009451.jpg

This is my second favorite picture I took of the Eiffel Tower.

DainansEurope2009449.jpg

We took the previous three photos from here.

DainansEurope2009454.jpg

I couldn't resist

DainansEurope2009439.jpg

Time to take the metro again. This time we found some amuzing adds

DainansEurope2009440.jpg

This I thought was hilarious! "Stop massacring English"

DainansEurope2009468.jpg

"Yes, I speak Wall Street English!" This just reminds me of a really bad Japanese add.

DainansEurope2009459.jpg

We see you. We'll be there tomorrow

DainansEurope2009457.jpg

What on earth is this bear doing?

DainansEurope2009469.jpg

Marc and Louis on the Metro

DainansEurope2009470.jpg

Alex and I on the Metro

DainansEurope2009463.jpg

Interesting indoor strip

DainansEurope2009462.jpg

GTFO!

DainansEurope2009464.jpg

Too bad Marc couldn't get these back into Canada!

DainansEurope2009465.jpg

There will be more about Banania later

DainansEurope2009467.jpg

The representation of my people. Sigh

DainansEurope2009461.jpg

We never did have a clear day in France come to think of it.

DainansEurope2009484.jpg

Eiffel Tower credit, check!

DainansEurope2009486.jpg

Alex, Marc, Louis and I

DainansEurope2009487.jpg

This is, hands down, the best photo I have ever taken!

DainansEurope2009489.jpg

Oh dear

DainansEurope2009492.jpg

Up-skirt shot

DainansEurope2009511.jpg

I have a terrible phobia of elevators, so getting me to the top of the Eiffel Tower was a handful, but I did it. Too bad it was night, and the pictures will never captivate how beautiful it was up here!

DainansEurope2009512.jpg

French Cub

DainansEurope2009514.jpg

This is how gangsta I am

DainansEurope2009515.jpg

Haven't we seen this picture before?

DainansEurope2009521.jpg

This is where Princess Diana was killed. How pleasant?

DainansEurope2009524.jpg

Yum, dinner time!

DainansEurope2009526.jpg

J'dore Paris

DainansEurope2009529.jpg

I ate Foie Gras just to piss off my vegetarian mom! And it was good!

DainansEurope2009531.jpg

So was my meal =)

DainansEurope2009534.jpg

And my dessert =)

DainansEurope2009537.jpg

This is Le Chateau de Mortefontaine at night. Louis' sister and her husband own the chateau, and let us stay there for one night. We were only allowed in two bedrooms, and half of the place had no electricity. We were also never inside the chateau in daylight, but overall, it was an amazing experience. Also, this was a total suprise to Alex and I

DainansEurope2009540.jpg

This was the bed room where me and Louis slept.

DainansEurope2009540.jpg

2nd floor hallway.

DainansEurope2009542.jpg

The kitchen

DainansEurope2009546.jpg

Alex on one of the stair cases!

DainansEurope2009553.jpg

The chateau was owned by Napoleon's brother. This is also where the Louisiana Purchase was signed

DainansEurope2009555.jpg

Louis trying to hook the internet up.

DainansEurope2009554.jpg

This was Alex's last night in Europe. He was excited to say the least.

DainansEurope2009556.jpg

Marc was very happy to be there as well

DainansEurope2009557.jpg

Me using Louis' laptop. Sadly, we never got interenet connection.

DainansEurope2009563.jpg

Just a little look around!

DainansEurope2009564.jpg

Did I mention this was a chateau!

DainansEurope2009571.jpg

On this note. We said good night and went to sleep!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey guys, I’m really sorry for not posting this sooner. I’ve had a lot of things come up recently in my life, and I just haven’t had the time for it. But a late PTR is better than no PTR, eh?

January 19th, 2009

Disneyland Paris

DainansEurope2009586.jpg

Welcome to early morning at Disneyland Paris. This is the Disney’s Newport Bay Club resort.

DainansEurope2009587.jpg

On this date, it was just Marc and I. Alex was dropped off at the Airport to go back to Canada, and Louis had to work. So we got there an hour and a half before the parks opened.

DainansEurope2009588.jpg

We decided to walk around the Disney Village

DainansEurope2009589.jpg

We wanted to get food, but everything was over priced.

DainansEurope2009590.jpg

Either we’re still at Toverland, or this is Rainforest Café.

DainansEurope2009591.jpg

I love the crowds!

DainansEurope2009592.jpg

I couldn’t resist

DainansEurope2009593.jpg

We did some browsing, but no actual shopping.

DainansEurope2009594.jpg

My mom saw this picture, and yelled at me for not getting her anything. Oops…

DainansEurope2009595.jpg

Sorry Marc, check in isn’t till later ;)

DainansEurope2009598.jpg

Lol, wat

DainansEurope2009597.jpg

More shopping….um…yay?

DainansEurope2009600.jpg

Yea…I think I’m that cool!

DainansEurope2009601.jpg

El Bandito

DainansEurope2009602.jpg

A good example of me not knowing my camera settings

DainansEurope2009603.jpg

They had every state except for New York…but they had Prince Edward’s Island!?!?

DainansEurope2009606.jpg

Next time I’ll see the show

DainansEurope2009607.jpg

Good to see that it’s not frozen today!

DainansEurope2009608.jpg]

Love. This. Castle. ZOMFG!!!!!!!!!!

DainansEurope2009611.jpg

We lined up for the rope drop in Discoveryland, so we can be the first train out on Space Mountain

DainansEurope2009613.jpg

But it was closed when we got there. So we headed to the other side of the park.

DainansEurope2009614.jpg

From a Vekoma to an Intamin, we head to Adventureland for the worst coaster ever.

DainansEurope2009617.jpg

Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril

n792689571_2004204_3404.jpg

This is me filming. Marc decided to sit out this one. (He’s ridden it before)

This is my front row POV of the ride.

DainansEurope2009623.jpg

The caves in Skull Isle were cool.

DainansEurope2009621.jpg

We didn’t do it. That makes 3 Disney parks on my list so far!

DainansEurope2009622.jpg

NOT FROZEN!

DainansEurope2009624.jpg

What can be over here?

DainansEurope2009625.jpg

Pirates of the Caribbean opened up from it’s refurb, just a few days before.

DainansEurope2009637.jpg

They had the best station out of any of them I’ve been on

DainansEurope2009637.jpg

This is the best POC I’ve ever been on

DainansEurope2009660.jpg

Marc and I were offered a second ride, and we got our own boat.

DainansEurope2009664.jpg

Next, we went over to Fantasyland to find Emmanuel.

DainansEurope2009662.jpg

Dumbo!

DainansEurope2009665.jpg

This is easily the most beautiful of the Magic Kingdoms!

DainansEurope2009666.jpg

Over at Les Voyage de Pinocchio we found…

DainansEurope2009667.jpg

Our friend Emmanuel! Yay!

DainansEurope2009672.jpg

The back side of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle

DainansEurope2009673.jpg

Looking up, something doesn’t seem right.

DainansEurope2009674.jpg

This is what separates this castle from the others.

DainansEurope2009675.jpg

You go upstairs and there’s stained glass and paintings.

DainansEurope2009677.jpg

It was beautiful

DainansEurope2009678.jpg

“Mon amour, Je t'ai vu au beau milieu d'un rêve”

DainansEurope2009679.jpg

Totally awesome!

DainansEurope2009676.jpg

Looking down, there’s an empty castle

DainansEurope2009680.jpg

Looking outside, you see an empty Fantasyland. It’s like a real fantasy =)

DainansEurope2009682.jpg

Go down stairs and a mystery awaits you!

DainansEurope2009684.jpg

OH SNAP! It’s a dragon!

DainansEurope2009690.jpg

Seriously, I can’t love this park anymore already ;)

DainansEurope2009691.jpg

Me in front of the castle.

DainansEurope2009694.jpg

We got lunch at the Cowboy Cookout

DainansEurope2009699.jpg

It’s nice to see free roaming characters again!

n557890017_5503248_9661.jpg

Marc with the badass Chip and Dale.

DainansEurope2009703.jpg

There is a reason behind this photo. Click the link below to find out.

DainansEurope2009702.jpg

Big Thunder Mountain is coming right at us! AHHHHHH!!!!!

DainansEurope2009706.jpg

I really liked that it is on its own island.

DainansEurope2009708.jpg

They did really good with dispatch times on this one.

DainansEurope2009709.jpg

I loved the theming of this place.

DainansEurope2009723.jpg

Adventureland has a village theme, a jungle theme, and a pirate theme. It was really cool

DainansEurope2009711.jpg

It works very well

DainansEurope2009712.jpg

You’re not doing it right!

DainansEurope2009713.jpg

This is not any other park!

DainansEurope2009714.jpg

Genie welcomes you!

DainansEurope2009715.jpg

It’s just a bunch of dioramas

DainansEurope2009719.jpg

What I found interesting was that there was no Cast Member to watch over the guests.

DainansEurope2009721.jpg

Au revoir!

DainansEurope2009724.jpg

Next we headed over to Walt Disney Studios

DainansEurope2009725.jpg

That explains a lot!

DainansEurope2009732.jpg

You’re not doing it right!

DainansEurope2009731.jpg

It may not be the best Tower of Terror, but it’s still fun.

DainansEurope2009733.jpg

The queue is always nice. It just seems so much smaller than the two other TOTs I’ve been on.

DainansEurope2009737.jpg

We were sent upstairs to our elevator.

DainansEurope2009735.jpg

This is a bad photo, but this is me and Marc laughing because we put some annoying French girl in her place. We were waiting in line, and we’re talking about stuff in English. Well, these two French teenie boppers are behind us complaining about us in French. We’re annoying them, etc. Then one girl says to the other, “I bet they don’t even speak French!” I caught this and flashed my eyes to them, for Marc to notice. We start listening closer, and then Marc turns around, and in perfect French says, “So, have you girls ridden this ride before?” The girl looks at us and just stares with her mouth open. We just laughed and said stuff like, “Cette pute!”

DainansEurope2009740.jpg

Moving on. This is the only picture I got of Armageddon Special Effects. Everyone kept telling me the pre-show is really lame, etc. But that’s all I knew about it. Needless to say, the attraction totally surprised me, and I was blown away. I wont ruin anything about it, but let me just tell you that this attraction is hot! ;)

DainansEurope2009750.jpg

Next up was Rock N Roller Coaster, except it went 101 on us.

DainansEurope2009754.jpg

It did let me get some neat “coaster porn” pictures. Here’s the catch car that pulls the train down the launch track.

DainansEurope2009757.jpg

The trains look a bit better than Florida’s

DainansEurope2009766.jpg

Then the ride went 102 and re-opened. We ended up getting the “test train.” The test train launched at 70mph. It doesn’t stop accelerating at all on the launch track, and you can truly feel the difference through out the ride. Just ask my neck!

DainansEurope2009767.jpg

And then it rained…shocking!

DainansEurope2009726.jpg

I’m sorry, I just can’t like this park. I tried, I really did…but it’s the saddest excuse for a Disney park. Six Flags America puts this place to shame!

DainansEurope2009771.jpg

We headed on over to Disneyland see if Space Mountain had reopened yet!

DainansEurope2009770.jpg

Nope! So now I have two! Two closed international Space Mountain’s on my list. The other one was at Tokyo Disneyland, it was closed my entire visit in Japan.

DainansEurope2009774.jpg

Star Tours time

DainansEurope2009775.jpg

Walk-on is fine by me!

DainansEurope2009780.jpg

This chart is unique to only Disneyland Paris

DainansEurope2009781.jpg

This is why I love the off-season!

DainansEurope2009782.jpg

I swore I heard rumbling from within the mountain!

DainansEurope2009783.jpg

OUI!!!!!!!!! Sadly, it was only testing.

DainansEurope2009784.jpg

Nautilus time

DainansEurope2009785.jpg

Walking down into the depths of Captain Nemo’s Nautilus

DainansEurope2009786.jpg

Another example of me not knowing how to use my camera settings.

DainansEurope2009793.jpg

It was really cool.

DainansEurope2009801.jpg

“Hey Florida! Remember me?”

DainansEurope2009802.jpg

We headed back over to Space Mountain to see if it was reopened, but it wasn’t.

DainansEurope2009804.jpg

Videopolis looks pretty interesting.

DainansEurope2009806.jpg

So….we headed over to ride Indy again…

DainansEurope2009807.jpg

The queue had some okay theming.

DainansEurope2009808.jpg

We only went on it to pass the time for Space Mountain to open.

DainansEurope2009809.jpg

Yea… This isn’t the best ride.

DainansEurope2009812.jpg

Intamin copied the layout of the Pinfari TL59 coaster. Thus…it’s terrible.

DainansEurope2009813.jpg

It’ll also send you to First Aid.

DainansEurope2009814.jpg

Well Marc and I were boarding the wet train, Marc slid and banged his knee pretty hard against the seat divider. He rode the ride with a bloody knee and some nice bruises, and the Cast Members didn’t offer any assistance.

DainansEurope2009818.jpg

Afterwards, we went over to Big Thunder Mountain.

DainansEurope2009817.jpg

Where we got the first row.

DainansEurope2009822.jpg

And no the moment we’ve been stalling for all evening! Space Mountain finally opened!

DainansEurope2009825.jpg

“Rien ne saurait donner une idée de la détonation épouvantable de la Columbiad ni les éclats de la foudre, ni le fracas des éruptions!”

DainansEurope2009830.jpg

The queue!

DainansEurope2009831.jpg

Electro de Velocitor

DainansEurope2009842.jpg

She was running smoother than she was the week before!

n792689571_2172542_9379.jpg

You can tell that this photo is definitely not from this day. The reason I’m posting it now, is because I kind of lost it in Louis car, and was half-convinced I left it at Stéphanie’s house in Luxembourg. But I got it in the mail from Louis today, so now I’m posting it. So in this photo is, Emmanuel, me, Alex and Maxime, from our first day in Paris.

DainansEurope2009852.jpg

Liberty Arcade

DainansEurope2009853.jpg

It’s an indoor Main Street. The other side had “Discovery Arcade”

DainansEurope2009854.jpg

I really got a kick out of it.

DainansEurope2009856.jpg

If you didn’t know it was there, you might miss it.

DainansEurope2009857.jpg

Disney beauty!

DainansEurope2009859.jpg

I see this statue every day. I’m not going to lie, seeing this made me feel a bit home sick and depressed. Being this was my last night in Europe!

DainansEurope2009868.jpg

Our final dinner was at a rotating Sushi bar outside of Disney. I now have three rotating Sushi bar credits: Tokyo, New York (my home) and now Paris.

DainansEurope2009869.jpg

That doesn’t look very Japanese!
