We are proud to announce the results of GreatAdventureHistory.com's 2nd Annual Warner Awards! Thanks to all our members and guests for making this the most popular GAH survey yet!

 

Named for Great Adventure's Creator and Designer Warner LeRoy, these results highlight our reader's favorite rides, shows, attractions, and much more from the exciting 2008 season. And while the Academy Awards has the Oscar as their signature trophy, we at GAH feel that Warner LeRoy's golden hardhat makes a worthy substitute!

 

 

The 2008 season offered plenty of fun for everyone. New additions such as the Dark Knight Coaster and the popular Glow in the Park Parade, along with some older classics, a beautifully landscaped park, and an outstanding Great Adventure cast of employees provided for a season of thrills and enjoyment.

 

As with most awards, we would like to take a moment to look back at the attractions that we have lost this past year. These all will be missed, but we look forwad to many new and entertaining seasons ahead!

I was surprised to see how the Best of the West Barbeque ran away with the Best Restaurant. I thought it would win but not by such a large margin.

 

Another interesting win was The Village (the main themed area of Hurricane Harbor) coming in 3rd place beating out most of the rides. Themed areas sell!

I think you convince a lot of people to give it a shot with your rave reviews of the place when you talk about your days there. I know that's what brought us there last season ans it's become our regular place to eat.

Frontier Adventures wins 2nd place in the themed section category, pretty sweet.

As sad as the memorium videos are, it's also nice if you have experienced those rides and can think back to the par with them around. A memory not everyone who visits her emight have.

As long a the park continues to operate and open each year there is always going to be some sort of loss and gain for the following season.

Sixty percent of the people voted for the Big Wheel as the ride with the "Best Attraction Lighting". The new LED lights have some big shoes to fill as far as popularity!
