29yrswithaGApass
Here is something interesting that I have observed.... Every season has brought about changes - some big and some small. Information about these additions and modifications are usually included in the press releases and newspaper articles for that season. Interestingly, there are three rides whose premieres were never mentioned anywhere in all the documentation that we have reviewed - the Super Cat, Scrambler, and Tilt-a-Whirl. Even all the kiddie rides are mentioned in the write-ups for the seasons in which they were introduced. I wonder why these were omitted? Oddly, it is also very hard to find photos for two of these (Super Cat and the Tilt-a-Whirl).
ThemeParkRider
Do you know if it was planned at last minute? Maybe the inspector was leaving seconds before the park opened! But, really, that is interesting... Perhaps SF didn't feel it was important enough to announce for whatever reason.
29yrswithaGApass
It could be that those rides were added mid season. El Sombrero didn't get any press when it was added back to the park in 1993.
ThemeParkRider
Very True! Now, because we don't have any flats, the worst thing SF could do is add a ride with no announcement.
