29yrswithaGApass
I just uploaded a short black and white 8mm home movie of Great Adventure from the summer of 1975. I don't have a clue who the family in the film is but they look like typical 70's folk! The film starts off in the Best of the West where spectators fill the benches to watch the logs splash down on the flume. Other scenes include a packed Bandstand on the Lake and a clown entertaining park goers on Dream Street. Finally, the film concludes in the parking lot near a "picnic area", and if you catch the very last frame of the movie you can see an original style parking lot tram approaching from the right. Click the image below to see the film and enjoy!
29yrswithaGApass
Hey Steve (Csogi), do you know who the clown is in the film? It was taken in 1975 so I am thinking you might.
Csogi
I can only remember his first name, David. He was one of the professional clowns hired that year.
ThemeParkRider
Having problems watching it, but did anyone notice how low the fence was in front of the Log Flume?
29yrswithaGApass
Having problems watching it, but did anyone notice how low the fence was in front of the Log Flume? Prior to 1988 the Log Flume didn't have a fence surrounding it. It was installed as part of the park-wide "safety upgrades" package.
