29yrswithaGApass
During the first few years of Great Adventure (1974 to 1975) a box-like structure could be found on Dream Street either to the left or right of the blue and white Dream Street tent. Simply marked as "Bakery," it featured two stairs up to a regular size front door. Over the door, two small shutters opened onto a little ledge making it seem like this may have been used as some sort of puppet stage. If you look at the bottom left undeside, it apprears that this little building is on wheels. Anyone have any information on this unique little structure? Yankees99
I remember seeing that. It was just a decoration, so to speak. I have NOT seen that since 1975.
29yrswithaGApass
It seems that building was used for something. The kid in the photo above looks like he is reading a sign on the door (kind of young to be reading!). Here is the Bakery next to The Happening stage (current site of The Teacups). Csogi
I do not remember them at all. Could it only have been there in 74?
Yankees99
If you look at the picture with the kid and note, you notice the attraction is off limits. It was just some sort of prop.
29yrswithaGApass
I do not remember them at all. Could it only have been there in 74? Maybe? Hopefully John can confirm if his photo is from 1974 or 1975. If you look at the picture with the kid and note, you notice the attraction is off limits. It was just some sort of prop. Maybe the note on the door says "Keep off the prop kid!".
Coaster Justin
Was Something Added or Relocated to that area in 75-76? The Pretty Monster Ride or The Happening? I Wonder if A Food Show was Added considering the Food Problems in 74 (Based on Spotlight Info.)
RobertDavid
It looks like it was originally part of the Happening and then moved and perhaps used as a puppet show by itself.
29yrswithaGApass
This 1974 postcard shows the Bakery on the extreme left when it was located near the tents. If you notice, it is postioned differently than the other photo.
Csogi
I just checked my 1975 pictures, but did not have one of the first building.
The Master
During the first few years of Great Adventure (1974 to 1975) a box-like structure could be found on Dream Street either to the left or right of the blue and white Dream Street tent. The steps the kid is standing on look like they are folding steps. My grandparents used to have an RV with fold down steps like that, they fold up for transport. The sides look like a painted tent, it looks like the whole thing must collapse down since it would be too tall and narrow to tow otherwise.
