29yrswithaGApass
The 1974 map had an "Antiques & Cars" label on the courtyard of The Fort. Anyone know if this was accurate, and if so what it was referring to?
ThemeParkRider
Were there ever any car shows in the fort? The area seems big enough where there could have been room, especially since the Sky Ride didn't have a queue in the lower area of the fort at the time. I haven't found any pictures of that, though. Perhaps it was something planned but never built?
Coaster Justin
I Wonder if it was a gift shop that was planned but got cancelled for More Queue Line for Mine Train.
29yrswithaGApass
It seems strange that something called Antiques & Cars wouldn't be located near the Antique Cars ride.
Coaster Justin
I'm not saying they wanted this to happen but... Weren't the Antique Cars going to be Relocated There? Just Saying.
The Master
That courtyard is not big enough for a car show and it's not really that much room for an Antique Cars ride either. I am thinking it is just a misprint.
ThemeParkRider
On a park map? Weren't these maps hand drawn?
The Master
The text doesn't look hand drawn, it looks like it was printed over the hand drawing.
29yrswithaGApass
In 1975 the park had an Antique Cars event. I wonder if it was also held in 1974.
The Master
I guess if they only had 4 cars then it could have fit inside the Fort's courtyard. Still just 4 cars is not much of a car show.
29yrswithaGApass
Actually, I just reread the blurb in that newsletter (at the bottom of the yellow page). It says "In action." I sort of doubt they would have been driving those cars around in there!
