29yrswithaGApass
Source: Daily Record Six Flags Great Adventure plans job fairs to hire 4,000 seasonal workers Jan 23, 2013 Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson is overhauling its park this year, but the number of jobs, if not the specific tasks, apparently will remain the same. The company on Wednesday said it would hire 4,000 employees, including 200 interns, for the 2013 season the first in which visitors instead of driving through its wild safari theme park themselves will get guided tours. I know that we will absolutely find jobs for any returning employee if their position has been changed, said Kristin Siebeneicher, a Six Flags spokeswoman. We are committed to our team members and will find them a new position. Six Flags, New Jerseys biggest seasonal employer, will enter the summer with a handful of questions. Among them: will the revamped safari attraction improve attendance; and will New Jersey consumers have enough money in their pockets post-superstorm Sandy to spend at amusement parks? Six Flags Entertainment Corp., based in Dallas, doesnt release attendance figures for individual parks. But investors have rewarded the company since it emerged from bankruptcy in 2010. Its stock rose 57 percent in 2012. Industry observers have said Six Flags is trying to add attractions to satisfy visitors year after year, even though consumers, with the economy still sluggish, are looking for value. Six Flags plan in Jackson: It will open Safari Off Road Adventure, a guided tour of hundreds of animals, to replace Wild Safari, and include it in the theme parks admission price. Guests last year paid separately. Hurricane Harbor, a water park, will remain separate, but it will feature a new water slide called Big Wave Racer. The price of admission will remain the same as 2012, Siebeneicher said. SIX FLAGS JOB FAIRS When: Feb. 9 and Feb. 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Where: The park’s employment center, 1 Six Flags Blvd., off Route 537, Jackson. Use the employment/service entrance. What to bring: Fill out an online application first at www.sixflags jobs.com.
