Matt Kaiser
I talked with Kristin (from PR) about Batman Backwards yesterday. They're working on a tight schedule to minimize the downtime. She's confident the ride will be on schedule on the park's part, but it all comes down to getting state approval in time. That's probably why they haven't announced a preview day yet. Yoshi
The state concerns me. I hope they can get it opened in time for next weekend to avoid disappointed park guests.
YoungPup
The state concerns me. I hope they can get it opened in time for next weekend to avoid disappointed park guests. Me too. Hoping for the July 1st preview day, because July 1st is my birthday, and I'll be going
gencx
So, is the pass holder preview set for tomorrow? Or is the State of New Jersey unnecessarily holding an attraction back yet again?
Matt Kaiser
I haven't heard anything about a preview event outside of this topic, so I wouldn't plan on it.
Yoshi
It seems unlikely it would be ready for tomorrow. If they even closed the ride today, that would only give them 1 day to take off the forward train, put on the backwards trains and have it certified for opening and any number test runs it might have to have. gencx
I haven't heard anything about a preview event outside of this topic, so I wouldn't plan on it. Yeah, you're probably right. And there's supposed to be thunderstorms tomorrow so it would probably have been cancelled anyway.
Matt Kaiser
^^ The backwards train has been sitting on the maintenance track for a few days.
Railer
NAMTAB is on the Track, and testing now at the Park. Couple vid's up on FB. A Passholder preview may happen, be ready this week if you can make it. But i bet it will be just a tad bit slower without the weight of 4 additional rider's with the 7th row on the Train. It won't hardly even be noticeable, but a 1 or 2 MPH drop in speed will help with the increased intensity of going backward's. 4 people at an average of 200lbs, plus the weight of the seat's and everything with them, its' prob close to a 1,000lbs. off the Train. EDIT : Word on FB is Passholder Preview is the 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Edited June 30, 2015 by Railer
gencx
Just noticed in the weekly park e-mail that they're holding passholder ERT for this on July 7th. A nice consolation as I won't be able to make it down this week.
Matt Kaiser
Just noticed in the weekly park e-mail that they're holding passholder ERT for this on July 7th. A nice consolation as I won't be able to make it down this week. Note that's part of the Coca Cola July 4th celebration, so you need to bring a can of coke to participate. Ignore this Edited July 1, 2015 by Matt Kaiser
gencx
^ Why? The July 4th promotion only runs until the 5th. This makes no mention of that promotion or of having a can of Coke; just says active passholders.
Matt Kaiser
Oops, I thought I read that you posted the 5th. (There's Batman Backwards ERT that morning with a can of coke) Anyway, July 7th is also media day. What email do you see it in? I don't see it in the June 24-July 8 newsletter. gencx
^In that newsletter, go to the Batman backwards spotlight and click 'learn more'. It's buried at the bottom of that page. I myself missed it the first few times I read the e-mail.
Matt Kaiser
Wow, they really love to hide that kind of stuff.

scott
With he rain all over this morning the park was not crowded when I got there with my family at around 4 this afternoon. There was nothing more than a station wait for any ride we went to. We went right to batman for a backwards ride. It was a lot of fun, my girls loved it. It is a different feeling not seeing what's coming up next. I have been riding Batman since it opened and know the layout as I'm sure everyone does but backwards is a fun new experience. jdc12192
might go friday and check it out. Probably going to make me sick I'm afraid of that too. When I ride namtab it'll probably be the last ride of the day...just Incase lol
Matt Kaiser
I rode it today. It's pretty awesome! I actually like it better than facing forwards, except for one part where it hurt my neck on the second twist. Besides that, it was better. DANofNJ
I rode it 14 times yesterday. its sad how smooth the 2 backwards facing trains are compared to our forward facing trains. the only problem I had was sitting in the last row, when I excited, I hit my head on the train. hurt like a bitch. Matt Kaiser
^Luckily, I watched the person in front of me do that, so I knew to avoid that. lol To anyone over probably 5'8"-ish, do watch out. The missing 8th row still has a car so it hangs lower than the track.
joeyc98
Our forward facing trains are actually pretty smooth as well so im gonna assume the backwards trains are super super smooth, then.
jdc12192
Ride it today in the last(or front)? However you describe it now- first row up the lift. I was a fan and liked it more then front, until after the second loop. Then I started getting dizzy with the turns and corkscrews.
