Through hurricanes, blizzards and heat waves, the Six Flags Animal Care Team knows that “the animals depend on us 365 days a year, regardless of the weather,” according to Dr. Bill Rives, safari director. Six Flags Great Adventure has focused on animal education and conservation for more than 40 years. The 510-acre Jackson theme park and safari features 1,200 animals representing more than 80 different species from six continents. The park opens for the 2017 season April 1.
