dougdrummer
So I convinced my wife to go to GA today for the grand opening of the Justice League ride. As we went through security, I was thinking about the DC politician shooting at baseball practice, as well as the shooting at a San Francisco UPS facility over the last couple days, I was glad they search through backpacks and make everyone go through metal detectors. As we approached the actual entrance gate and I pulled out our passes to scan them, there were several loud explosion/gunshot type sounds that came from over towards the right. Almost everyone started to hit the deck, including many of the GA employees. After a few seconds we all realized that the park was setting off a few fireworks, probably over at the Justice League ride area. Needless to say, hundreds of patrons and dozens of employees had to check their shorts after that incident. The kids working the entrance gate were visibly shaken. My question is why would they be shooting off fireworks at 11 am, especially if the ride didn't open until 3 pm? And why were their employees obviously not aware of what was going on? Yoshi
The fireworks were probably for the start of the media day event.
Matt Kaiser
They shot off a few fireworks at the end of the presentation at the media event. I thought it was weird since the park was open and you couldn't even see them in the daylight, but Neal likes to go all-out on showy stuff like that. Yeah - I could hardly even see the fireworks in the daylight, and they didn't go that far up in the air. But boy did the sound get noticed, and not in a good way.
